2026 WAFCONQ: Kim Lars Björkegren releases Black Queens squad for Egypt games

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has unveiled a 24-player squad for the upcoming 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Egypt.

Goalkeepers Cynthia Fiindib Konlan and Afi Amenyaku lead the roster, while the defensive line boasts experienced figures such as captain Portia Boakye, Comfort Yeboah, and Susan Ama Duah, providing a solid backbone for the team.

In midfield, the Queens will rely on a blend of creativity and stability from Grace Asantewaa, Jennifer Cudjoe, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Evelyn Badu, and Stella Nyamekye. The squad also welcomes former Black Princesses stars Helen Alormenu and Sharon Simpson, who make their senior debut, bringing youthful energy and added depth.

Upfront, Ghana will count on the proven goal-scoring abilities of Alice Kusi, Doris Boaduwaa, Princella Adubea, and Mary Amponsah to lead the attack.
