The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that a total of 603,328 candidates will sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the country.
Speaking at a press conference, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Davies, said all necessary preparations have been made to ensure a smooth and successful examination, scheduled to take place from Wednesday, June 11 to Wednesday, June 18.
Prof. Davies issued a strong warning to invigilators and supervisors, stressing that anyone found aiding in examination malpractice will face immediate dismissal.
He also appealed to all stakeholders—including teachers, parents, and community leaders—to support national efforts to curb examination malpractices, which he said continue to threaten the integrity of Ghana’s educational system.
Touching on school selection, Prof. Davies assured the public that every candidate will be allowed to choose their preferred schools, even though the official deadline has passed.
