Matchday 25 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League delivered a series of surprising results across several venues as the title race and relegation battle intensified.

The round of fixtures was played from Friday, March 6, to Sunday, March 8.

At the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nations FC cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Bechem United. Emmanuel Annor opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Antwi Sarpong doubled the advantage just before halftime in the 43rd minute. Richard Danso wrapped up the win deep into stoppage time in the second half to seal an emphatic result for the Abrankese-based side.

On Saturday, defending champions FC Samartex were held to a goalless draw by Dreams FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Meanwhile, Vision FC produced an impressive display to beat Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex. After a goalless first half, Setsofia Aqetey broke the deadlock with a fine finish following a well-worked move. Ibrahim Larbi doubled the lead just three minutes later, and Aqetey grabbed his second shortly after to give the hosts a commanding three-goal cushion. Substitute Vincent Klu Adjei pulled one back for Chelsea with 20 minutes remaining.

On Sunday, Aduana FC ended a four-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park. Patrick Mensah broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute before youngster Richard Yeboah sealed the win with a stunning strike ten minutes later.

Heart of Lions also returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Swedru All Blacks at the Kpando Stadium. Michael Ephson’s superb free-kick in the 33rd minute proved decisive, ending a three-game winless run for coach Bashiru Hayford.

At the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Karela United secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Asante Kotoko. Malik Abubakar netted the only goal in the 41st minute, while goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu made a crucial early double save to keep Kotoko at bay. The visitors’ task became even more difficult after Henry Ansu was sent off in the 40th minute.

Elsewhere, the title ambitions of Medeama SC suffered a setback following a 2-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Hohoe United at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium. Kelvin Obeng put Medeama ahead shortly after the restart, but Hohoe United equalised when Fatawu Sulemana inadvertently turned the ball into his own net. Medeama later squandered a golden opportunity to regain the lead when goalkeeper Felix Kyei missed from the penalty spot before the visitors capitalised on a defensive lapse to snatch a famous victory.

Young Apostles FC boosted their survival hopes with a convincing 3-1 win over defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC at the Wenchi Sports Stadium. Claude Shooting Borrtey opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick before Mattias Van Amegbe doubled the lead before halftime. Issah Husseine added a third after the break, while Godfred John Arthur scored a late consolation for Gold Stars.

At the University of Ghana Stadium, Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw by Basake Holy Stars. The Phobians were reduced to ten men in the 65th minute after Kelvin Osei Asibey was shown a red card. Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare produced several key saves to keep Hearts in the contest as Basake pressed for a late winner.

Following the Matchday 25 results, Medeama SC, Bibiani Gold Stars, Aduana FC and Hearts of Oak occupy the top four positions on the league table. At the other end, Swedru All Blacks, Berekum Chelsea and Eleven Wonders remain in the relegation zone.
