Matchday 23 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League delivered late drama, momentum swings and significant movement at both ends of the table as the race for the title and survival intensified across the various centres.
At the Nii Adjei Kraku II Park, Vision FC produced a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bechem United on Saturday to climb into mid-table.
Bechem struck first through veteran forward Augustine Okrah, who calmly finished in the 27th minute to silence the home crowd. Vision’s response was immediate. Sam-an Mohammed drew the hosts level just two minutes later before Meshack Sowah Adjetey completed the turnaround with a well-taken effort in the 44th minute to give Vision a 2-1 lead at the break.
The second half maintained its tempo, and Okrah once again stepped up for Bechem, rifling home a spectacular long-range strike to restore parity. But Vision had the final word. Ibrahim Larbi found the net at a decisive moment to seal a hard-earned 3-2 win for the home side.
On Sunday, leaders Medeama SC saw their advantage at the summit cut to three points after being held to a goalless draw by FC Samartex 1996 at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
The slip allowed reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars to close the gap with a spirited 2-1 comeback win over Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium. Seedorf Asante had given the hosts the lead, but Samuel Attah Kumi levelled matters before Godfred struck with virtually the final kick of the match to secure a potentially pivotal three points.
Asante Kotoko also strengthened their top-four ambitions with a convincing 2-0 triumph over Young Apostles at the Wenchi Stadium. Early headers from Johnson Oppong Owusu and skipper Samba O’Neil put the Porcupine Warriors firmly in control, ending a three-game winless run and keeping them within reach of the leaders.
At the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Aduana FC were frustrated in a 0-0 draw by Hohoe United. While Aduana extended their unbeaten streak, they missed an opportunity to strengthen their position, as Hohoe picked up a valuable point in their battle to avoid the drop.
Dreams FC needed a late intervention to share the spoils with Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Suweidu Sulemana had put Nations ahead before Seidu Surah struck late to earn Dreams a point.
In the relegation dogfight, Basake Holy Stars boosted their survival hopes with a narrow 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks at the AAK II Park, courtesy of Jacob Boazee’s decisive goal.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, were unable to build on their recent Super Clash success, settling for a goalless draw against Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium — a result that leaves them five points adrift of the summit.
Karela United continued their resurgence at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, easing past Eleven Wonders to record a third straight victory and climb to seventh. Eleven Wonders remain anchored at the foot of the table.
After 23 rounds, Medeama SC, Bibiani Gold Stars, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko occupy the top four positions, while Young Apostles, Hohoe United and Eleven Wonders sit in the relegation zone as the league campaign gathers pace.
