The Black Queens of Ghana are set to battle Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ghana progressed to the knockout stage after finishing second in Group C with four points from three matches.
The Queens endured a difficult start to their campaign, suffering a 2-0 defeat to reigning champions South Africa before settling for a 1-1 draw against Mali.
However, they bounced back in their final group match, producing a commanding 4-1 victory over Tanzania to seal their spot in the last eight.
Their crucial win against Tanzania secured second place in the group standings and booked a quarter-final date with Algeria on Saturday, July 19, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.
The Black Queens, returning to the WAFCON stage for the first time since 2018, are aiming to make a strong impression in the tournament.
