About 19 people have sustained various degrees of injuries in an accident at Awutu Bonsuoku on the Gomoa Ojobi–Senya Bereku Road in the Central Region.
Four of the victims are in critical condition following the crash, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
The accident involved two Sprinter Benz buses with registration numbers AC-804-16 and GR 5137-18.
An eyewitness, Kennedy Awuah, told Adom News that the incident happened around 4:00 a.m. after residents were alerted by a loud noise from the main road.
“We rushed to the scene and saw that the two Sprinter buses had collided head-on. Many of the passengers were badly injured,” he recounted.
He suspected that one of the drivers may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the crash.
Ebenezer Eshun, one of the injured passengers receiving treatment at the Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoa Fetteh, said the driver heading from Kasoa to Senya Bereku appeared to have dozed off while driving.
