Tension is mounting at Karaga Senior High School (SHS) in the Karaga district of the Northern region after teachers allegedly seized phones and laptops belonging to students and set it ablaze.

According to reports, the teachers have been urged to use tough measures to deter students from bringing such devices to students.

During an impromptu inspection in the school on Wednesday October 1, 2017, about 200 mobile phones, ear phones, charges and laptops were confiscated and burnt to ashes.

This development according to Adom News’ Northern regional correspondent, Illiasu Abdul Rauf has generated some controversy in the school.

The students he stated nearly clashed with the teachers but for the intervention of the security personnel in the area.

Illiasu said tension is mounting since the students have vowed to retaliate after their communication devices were destroyed.

Meanwhile, authorities of the school are yet to react to the issue.
