Side chick saga: Deborah Adablah jailed for contempt over social media outbursts

-

The Accra High Court has sentenced former National Service personnel, Deborah Seyram Adablah, to 45 days in prison for contempt of court.

The sentence follows her recent social media attacks on the judiciary amid an ongoing legal battle with former First Atlantic Bank executive, Ernest Kwesi Nimako.

Adablah, who made headlines in 2023 after suing Nimako for breach of promise, was cited for contempt after defying a court order and making disparaging remarks about the presiding judge, Justice John Bosco Nabarese.

In videos widely circulated online, Adablah accused the judge of bias and questioned the integrity of Ghana’s judiciary, urging him to be fair in his rulings.

The videos, which were played in open court, led the judge to issue a bench warrant for her arrest.

Her sentencing marks a significant moment in the high-profile case, highlighting the legal risks of defying court orders and publicly criticizing judicial officers.
