The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has donated GHS500 to the family of the late gospel musician Yaw Sarpong to support preparations for his final funeral rites.
The donation was announced during the musician’s one-week observation in Kumasi, where MUSIGA officials joined family members and industry stakeholders to mourn and celebrate his life.
Presenting the amount on behalf of the union, MUSIGA representatives expressed their condolences to the bereaved family and acknowledged Yaw Sarpong’s immense contribution to the growth of gospel music in Ghana.
They noted that while the initial donation was symbolic, the union remains committed to providing further support during the funeral.
Yaw Sarpong was widely revered for his powerful gospel messages and timeless songs that resonated deeply with audiences across Ghana and beyond, earning him admiration and a lasting place in the country’s gospel music history.
