Ghana Armed Forces extends recruitment deadline

-

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has extended its ongoing recruitment exercise by one week following technical challenges encountered on its online application portal.

In a press statement issued in Accra on October 31, 2025, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, announced that the new deadline for applications is November 7, 2025.

“The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment exercise by one week due to some technical challenges experienced on the recruitment portal during the initial phase,” the statement noted.

The release, signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations, apologised for the inconvenience and appealed to applicants and the public for patience and cooperation.

The recruitment exercise, which began on October 1, 2025, includes registration and verification centres across all 16 regional capitals. It forms part of a broader government initiative to recruit approximately 12,000 personnel into the Armed Forces over the next three years.

Applicants are required to purchase an electronic recruitment voucher valued at GH¢200 from selected Ghana Post offices before accessing the official online portal at apply.mil.gh.

The exercise covers enlistment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Eligible applicants must be Ghanaian citizens by birth, of good character, and aged 18 to 25 years for non-tradesmen or up to 27 years for tradesmen.

The Armed Forces cautioned the public against fake recruitment websites and social media pages promoting fraudulent links on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

It stressed that official information regarding recruitment is published only in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.

In October, the Cyber Security Authority disclosed that it had identified 86 fake social media accounts impersonating the Ghana Armed Forces and engaging in recruitment scams within a single week.

Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi reiterated that recruitment into the military “is not for sale” and assured the public that the process remains transparent, fair, and merit-based.

Prospective candidates now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their applications through the official GAF recruitment portal.
