Ghanaian Rapper, Guru born as Nana Yaw Adjei Yeboah Maradona has rubbished reports circulating in the media that he had become a Rastafarian.

Earlier, rapper Guru was spotted in a new look and for those who observed, he showed off his new look in his new music video dubbed: ‘Problem’.

Most of his fans were surprised with many wondering whether Guru known to be a Christian has changed his religion.

But speaking to host KMJ on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Monday, the ‘Lapaz Toyota’ hit maker said: “I am not a Rasta man. I just want to go back to my roots as a real black man. There is no religious side to it. I want to reflect the typical Ghanaian…” he addressed.

Recalling his past encounters with Charter House Ghana Limited, Guru claimed the event management and production house hasn’t been fair to him with regards to winning Awards.

However, the CEO of NKZ music label confessed regardless the morale awards give an artiste; he doesn’t focus on them hence it only motivates him to work harder.

“Charter house hasn’t been fair to me. Reason I pulled out last year. They called for a meeting and apologized to some of the misunderstanding. Picking up awards gives morale but i don’t wanna focus on awards. Anyone nominated deserves the award. So it inspires me to work harder…” he maintained.

Nonetheless, Guru further debunked the allegation that his ‘problem’ song mocks Krobo women.

“I didn’t diss the Krobo women. I respect them. I was even praising them in the song…” he stated unequivocally.
