The Assin Fosu police have arrested an unemployed man for allegedly stabbing his brother-in-law to death at Assin Fosu in the Central region.

The Assin Fosu Divisional Police commander, Chief Supritendent Henry Bacho who disclosed the incident to Adom News’ Alfred Amoh said the incident happened Thursday night following a quarrel between the two over an undisclosed amount of money.

He said the deceased, Acheampong, 46, is an evangelist in the area and the breadwinner of his household.

He said Acheampong had been engaged by a neighbor to do some job for him but upon his return, Thursday night refused to give the suspect said to be his brother-in-law, Kofi Richard, 21 money.

This, according to Chief Supt Henry Bacho resulted in a quarrel between the two during which Kofi threatened to kill his brother-in-law if he did not give him his share.

After the threat, Kofi Richard was said to have brought a knife from his room and allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law through the neck, killing him instantly.

He is reported to have fled the scene immediately before the police could get there but was arrested later.

The suspect is currently in the grips of Assin Fosu police while the body of the evangelist has been deposited at the St. Francis Hospital morgue in Assin Fosu.
