Former head coach of Obuasi-based Ashanti Gold football club, C.K Akunnor has revealed he was sacked becase he is a local coach.
According to him, management led by Mr. Frimpong popularly known as “Champion” prefers white colored mangers than they the blacks.
C.K. Akunnor revealed this in an interview with Kumasi-based FOX FM Tuesday.
He explained that, the reason for his suspension was because he came to the German embassy for a meeting but management decided to punish him for not training with the team.
The former Black Stars player said he was later informed by a managment member of the club who told him their decision to hire a white coach to replace him.
C.K. Akunnor noted that, he decided to accept their offer to exit because it was obvious he was not need at Ashanti Gold.
“If you work somewhere and you are not appreciated then it’s better to leave”he added.
