What crime did former President committed for calling Mugabe a hero?

Can’t be sure how some people understand the thoughts of others as exemplified in the Mahama’s tweet. Isn’t true the forced resignation is a sad ending for Mugabe, if not for anyone else? Wasn’t Mugabe a hero when he and others fought for independence…. forget that now he’s a villain? Shouldn’t there be hope that his riddance would bring prosperity to Zimbabwe? I don’t see anything wrong with that tweet; it’s on point.
