weeding contractors
The members say they have not been paid for the past three years

A group, identified as Single Man Contractors, has expressed its frustration about the delay in the payment of monies owed them.

They are, as a matter of urgency, demanding their monies from the government.

According to members of the group, they have been charged with the responsibility of weeding around roads and highways in Ghana, but for the past three years they have not received any payment.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, some members of the group said calls and follow-ups to the relevant agencies have not yielded the desired results.

“We will appeal to government to fulfill its part of the promise and pay us our monies because we have done the work we have been given. We owe people who are coming after us.

“The situation is taking a toll on our members because some of us are widows and need to cater for our families ourselves; but it seems there is a preferential treatment going on because three of our members, who went to the ministry to appeal on our behalf, have been paid,” they lamented.
