Reacting to reports from the Deputy Minister of Roads suggesting that road construction will come to a halt because of a lack of funds, the NDC leader noted that he was not surprised by the government’s position, as they enjoy talking but not the action.

Speaking on Opemsuo FM in Kumasi, the NDC National Organizer, said the Nana Akufo-Addo-led administration is beyond a failure.

“I will not challenge this government when they claim to have constructed more roads than any other government. You see, it is only people who do not know the facts that will accept these things. The NPP under Nana Addo in Ashanti alone has awarded over six thousand kilometres of roads on paper but have only completed just thousand five hundred.

“Is this not someone who is a master of road construction? Where are the roads in the Ashanti Region? Why are people still complaining about their roads?

“I drove past the Suame roundabout; all the corrugated sheets that were used to cordon off the place have come off, and now the roundabout is bare for all to see. There is nothing happening there,” he revealed.

He said the government of the day had not taken residents of Ashanti seriously and has been toying with critical developmental issues in the region. Citing numerous sod cuttings by the government with no real impacts, he fell short of calling the government a fraud.

“Just in Kumasi alone, Nana Addo, Bawumia and Amoako-Atta have all come to cut sod for the same hundred kilometres of road. Just go and read all the headlines. It is the same story always but no work to see.

“I can confidently say one of the leading contractors, Kofi Job, who is handling most of Kumasi roads, you go to the site, and almost all his machines are parked. Why? He is owed by this government,” he retorted.

Defeated Ashanti regional chairman of the National Democratic (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has been urged not to give up as he still has a big role to play in the party.

According to the chairman of the Ashanti regional council of elders, Frank Osei Mensah, Joseph Yamin, together with other defeated candidates should rather work extra hard to make the party attractive.

Yamin is still relevant in the party. The world is not over for him because; I can assure him that he rather has a big role to play in the NDC. In those days we had party members who were defeated in various elections but they never gave up. Winning power in 2020 is more important now and so we need to work on that,” he said.

Joseph Yamin was beaten by 88 votes by incumbent Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Region elections held on Saturday.

But he has not taken his defeat well, accusing national chairman aspirant, Betty Mould Iddrisu of masterminding it.

Some members of the ruling NPP, for instance, claim Joseph Yamin lost in his bid to become the Ashanti Regional chairman of the NDC because of internal tribal politics in his party.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday, Mr Osei Mensah, denied such claims.

According to him, the party is fiercely against tribalism and would not allow its members to be involved in such acts.

For us, as a party, we never engaged in such acts and so those saying that Yamin was ousted because he is Fulani was not true,” he noted.

The list of candidates, there was only two Ashantis and rest were from the Northern part of the country so how could they make such claims” he quizzed.

Mr Osei Mensah indicated that what the party needs to do as a minority party in the Ashanti Region is to unite so as to be strong enough to fight the NPP who are in majority in the region.

He said Joseph Yamin’s allegations against Mrs Mould-Iddrisu who is aspiring for the position of a Chairperson for the party is baseless.

Yamin is only bitter and does not want to accept the fact that he has lost an election. He should stop peddling those falsehoods because it won’t hold. Accusing Betty Mould of masterminding his defeat is just childish” he said on Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

Mr Yamin has vowed to ensure that Mrs Iddrisu does not succeed in her bid to become National Chairperson of the party for working against his interest in the just ended regional elections.

Yamin said he championed Mrs Iddrisu’s bid to become national vice-chairperson but doubts if she can function well as a chairperson.

In his opinion, it is dangerous to employ a try and error tactic because Mrs Iddrisu has secrets that will disable him to play the role of a chairperson.

“Yamin should rescind his decision of organising a presser to destroy Mrs Mould-Iddrisu. We won’t allow you to destroy the party and Mahama,” he stated.

Former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Joseph Yamin is asking party delegates to vote against Betty Mould Iddrisu who is aspiring for the National Chairperson position, during national executive elections.

Mr Yammin, who is accusing the current National Vice Chairperson and aspiring National Chairperson of the party of masterminding his defeat during last Saturday’s conference, insists Madam Iddrisu’s election as substantive chairperson of the party will spell doom for the NDC in the 2020 elections.

Betty Mould Iddrisu came to the region to campaign against me. She openly told delegates not to vote for me and I have been voted against, giving me the free role to also pay her back by calling on delegates to vote against her national chairmanship bid,” he said.

The elections, which took place at the Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School in Sekyere Kumawu, were disrupted by a vigilante group by the name, The Hawks.

At the end of the exercise, which travelled into Sunday, Nana Kwasi polled 699 votes to beat closest contender Mr Yamin, who polled 611 votes.

New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye claims Joseph Yamin lost in his bid to become the Ashanti Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because of internal tribal politics in his party.

He said tribal undertones are gradually gaining roots in the NDC, a situation he said led to the defeat of Mr Yamin who is considered an ‘alien’ within his party.

Yamin was booted out because he was seen as a visitor. NDC always feeds on tribal politics and that is the problem of the NDC. Their behaviour has extended to all the regions and Yamin’s own was not an exception” he said,

Joseph Yamin was defeated at the polls in his bid to become the Ashanti Regional chairman of the NDC.

He polled 611 to against Augustus Adrew Nana Akwasi, who won with 699, according to the polls declared by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Mr Yamin was widely tipped to win the election, owing to his position as the former Ashanti regional secretary of the NDC, Deputy Ashanti regional minister and Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Morning show Badwam Tuesday, Nana Boakye said in terms of political pedigree, Joseph Yamin was far better than Augustus Andrew Nana Akwasi, who won the bid.

He claimed that tribal divisiveness is killing the love and loyalty supporters of the NDC used to have for the party, adding that it will continue to haunt them if they refuse to work on it.

14% Electricity tariff cut an attempt to cover up Cash-for-Seat saga – Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/14-electricity-tariff-cut-attempt-cover-cash-seat-saga-yamin/ Tue, 16 Jan 2018 13:04:52 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=841451 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Joseph Yamin, has described the 14% reduction in Electricity tariff announcement made by President Akufo-Addo as an attempt to divert media attention from the ongoing probe into the cash-for-seat scandal.
He is also of the opinion that the President’s announcement is not convincing enough because he failed to explain how stated organizations will be identified at their vantage points.
According to him, it will only create chaos at ECG offices, adding that the President rushed in announcing the policy.
“The President’s announcement is not convincing enough because it is going to be very difficult to identify these organizations when we have some few days for January to end. I think he rushed in announcing the policy because the NPP only wants divert media attention from the cash-for-seat saga” he said on Accra based Neat FM.
The former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister’s comments come after President Akufo-Addo announced that from January this year, non-residential users of electricity in the country would enjoy an average of 14% reduction in electricity tariffs.
The President had annouced that “from January this year, the non-residential tariff rate, which is the rate which includes all of you here, is being reduced by an average of 14%. For barbers, it is being reduced by 18%; for hairdressers and beauticians, 15.7%, and for tailors, 9.8%”.
“An average bill last year was GH¢562 a month. With this reduction from January, it is coming down to GH¢473 a month, which means GH¢88 has been taken from the electricity tariff that you pay. We want to encourage private business, and make business stand on its feet.” he added
Mr Yamin, however believes that there is a process to ensure that the policy is implemented without any hitches and therefore urged the President to follow the laid down procedures to avoid chaos at ECG offices.

We will chase Mahama out if…- Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/will-chase-mahama-yamin/ Mon, 13 Nov 2017 12:11:28 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=658581 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin has said former President John Mahama wont be forgiven if he fails to led the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in election 2020.
According to him, he is the party’s best bet to unseat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections.
“We won’t allow John Mahama to stay in the country if he refuses to contest because he is our last hope. We won’t forgive him if he fails to do so. I want him to put his critics to shame and contest because he is the only one to deliver Ghanaians from this misery” he said on Accra based Okay FM.
Some members of NDC have been rooting for the return of the former President who was defeated by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2016 general elections.
Recently, ten regional Chairmen of the opposition NDC have called on former President John Dramani Mahama to consider the request of the teeming supporters of the party to contest the 2020 elections.
They have also asked Mr Mahama to as a matter of urgency embark on a ‘Thank you’ tour across the country by expressing his appreciation to NDC members for supporting him during his tenure over the years.
In support, Joseph Yamin said the former President is their last hope for the NDC to come back to power.
In his view, Ghanaians are eager to him [Mahama] back to continue his unfinished business.
“We are not going into the 2020 elections to try; we are going into the elections to win because we have what it takes to win back power and John Mahama is the best bet” he added.

Yamin adds the NDC after the 2016 polls realized Ghanaians were going to regret the ‘unfortunate change’ they’ve made.
Speaking in an interview on Abusua fm, Yamin indicated the NDC and John Mahama is ready to save the country from the mess the Akuffo Addo government has created since assuming office in January.
The former NADMO Director said, parents, students and galamseyers who voted for Nana Addo have all regretted voting for New Patriotic Party.
He claims market women are calling the ex- President Mahama with Nana Addo’s phone for liberation.

NPP's frustration will lead to their defeat in 2020- Joseph Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/npps-frustration-will-lead-defeat-2020-joseph-yamin/ https://www.adomonline.com/npps-frustration-will-lead-defeat-2020-joseph-yamin/#comments Tue, 04 Jul 2017 16:13:49 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=267471 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, under the erstwhile NDC government, Joseph Yamin is predicting the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)defeat in 2020 due to frustration.
In his view, a government barely a year in office is finding it difficult to make ends meet due to the lies it peddled in the 2016 electioneering campaign.
Joseph Yamin’s comment comes after NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central  Kennedy Agyapong threatened to reveal how the party won power in 2016.
The outspoken MP who claimed he is yet to get a contract under the Akufo-Addo government because some NPP members are plotting to collapse his business.
Ken Agyapong however warned those people to watch their backs when executing their diabolic plans.
“No one can also threaten me if they dare, I will come on radio and reveal how we won the election. If they can go and sit at Alisa Hotel and threaten to collapse my business…they should get ready for me…I am ready to face anybody in NPP… I have not been awarded any contract since we came to power…” he warned.
But Mr Yamin on Accra-abed Neat FM said Ken Agyapong’s lamentations exposes the frustration in government.
“When you give false hope to your people, these are the things you say. The ‘winner takes all’ issue is different than what ken is talking about. He is angry because he believes as an NPP MP; he is to be given a contract even if his company is not liable. That is dangerous for the country… It’s frustration. They [NPP] are unable to fulfill their promises… they made the bigger promises…” he explained.
“Ghanaians should listen to the NPP carefully. Those who claim they are floating voters should listen to Ken. This doesn’t hold…” he added.
Joseph Yamin cautioned ‘disappointed’ Ghanaians to be wary of the NPP party since they won’t hold on to the ‘juicy promises’ they assured before winning the 2016 polls.
“In 2020 the NPP will lose. Ghanaians are disappointed. Ghanaians will vote for a better party. The flat rate is affecting prices of goods. This is under a government who promised he will cut down tax. The additional regions haven’t been created. The one district one factory hasn’t started in June now it is July. Ghanaians took a wrong step in lies. Four years is close. People are calling for John Mahama…” he maintained.

Kweku Baako should come for free tutorials on mining reportage – Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/kweku-baako-come-free-tutorials-mining-reportage-yamin/ Wed, 31 May 2017 06:55:43 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=143731 Seasoned Journalist Kweku Baako Jnr. has been slammed by former Youth and Sports Minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration, Joseph Yamin for publishing in ‘The New Crusading Guide’ the latter has helped GPSC mining company to secure military protection to carry out illegal mining in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

According to The New Crusade Guide publication on Tuesday May 30, 2017, in spite of the collective national will to fight against the cancerous galamsey (illegal mining) menace, the Geo Professional Services Company (GPSC), a mining company in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region appeared to be enjoying military protection to carry out their illegal mining activities with the blessing of a deputy minister under the erstwhile Mahama led NDC administration.

“The [former] deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Yamin is reported to have requested for the military protection for the ‘galamseyers’ through the Regional Security Council contrary to the concerted effort by government and people of Ghana to bring an end to the cumulative effect of illegal mining business,” The New Crusading Guide reported.

“This heretic attitude of a [former] deputy Regional Minister was exposed by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in their attempt to defend the deployment of some of its men to protect Geo Professional Services Company who were caught operating illegally,” the Newspaper added.

“The assertion by the GAF as to who requested for their men on the illegal grounds was further ascertained by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah during an interview on Citi FM yesterday,” Kwaku Baako’s newspaper indicated.

Reacting to The New Crusading Guide publication on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show, Joseph Yamin slammed saying Kwaku Baako has an agenda, otherwise a seasoned Journalist of his calibre would not have allowed his newspaper carry this ‘unintelligent story’ with the caption “NDC’s Yamin Exposed . . . Over Galamsey Soldiers”.

According Joseph Yamin, the story which sought to malign him has misquoted him as the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah didn’t mention his [Yamin’s] name in his submission over soldiers giving protection to a mining company.

“The minister and I were on the same radio platform and nowhere has he mentioned my name as the one who went to request for the military protection for ‘galamseyers’ from the Regional Security Council,” he asserted.

“If he didn’t mention my name, why then is Kwaku Baako’s newspaper pointing accusing finger at me? I thank him for making me popular. The same story has been done by Citi FM without mentioning my name,” he averred.

He however asserted that Kwaku Baako exposed himself for the fact that he [Yamin] doesn’t know the mining company in question; thus, he does not remember meeting the company anywhere.

But he quickly added that he may not remember every document which comes to their ministry; throwing a challenge out to anybody with evidence to come forward to prove him wrong.

With his rich knowledge in the mining industry as a former leader of Anti-galamsey Committee in the Ashanti Region, Joseph Yamin explained that even though he doesn’t know Geo Professional Services Company anywhere, from the Ashanti Regional Minister’s statement, the company is into large scale mining; defeating the claim of its involvement in galamsey.

“I can explain why it happened that way but inasmuch as I don’t know them from anywhere, from the minister’s statement shows that those people are large scale miners and if so then they are not into illegal mining [galamsey] because large scale mining is not galamsey. So educate Kwaku Baako on that because I am sure he is listening before he makes some pronouncements,” he opined.

“I don’t know if it is an agenda against Yamin because I can recollect the things he has said against me on Peace FM about my involvement in galamsey. Kwaku Baako should know that there are differences among large scale mining, small scale mining and galamsey. Government is yet to introduce something we call medium scale mining,” he explained.

He elaborated that “galamsey is illegal activities in mining and the illegality is when a small scale mining company using excavator to do mining because small scale is not permitted to use heavy duty machines to do mining. Small scale mining operating close to 50km near a river is considered galamsey despite its legitimate to operate.”

Joseph Yamin averred that as GPSC is a large scale mining company, it is appropriate for it to seek protection from the state if its activities are threatened by illegal miners; thus it is an investment opportunity for the country.

“If Kwaku Baako wants to talk about mining, he should come for free tutorials on how to report on mining issues,” he jabbed.

Hot audio: ‘BNI holds key to Aisha Huang’s conviction’ https://www.adomonline.com/hot-audio-bni-holds-key-aisha-huangs-conviction/ Tue, 23 May 2017 20:01:31 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=132781 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Joseph Yamin is skeptical about efforts to convict 31-year-old ‘galamsey Queen’, Aisha Huang.

In his view, investigations by the police will be an exercise in futility it does not collaborate with the Bureau of National Investigations.

Aisha Huang, believed to be deeply engaged in illegal mining in Ghana, was arrested earlier in May by the Ghana Immigration Service over her alleged involvement in illegal mining in an area belonging to the Volta Resources Company Limited.

She is currently on remand at the Nsawam prison pending investigations into allegations leveled against her.

But Mr. Yamin maintained that the police will be embarking on a fruitless venture if it does not heed to his advice.

He indicated that, the Chinese woman is well connected and it would take the BNI to secure a conviction.

“If the police want to deal with Aisha, they should go to BNI. Otherwise soon she would be let to go free. I have given them a hint. If they want to know who she really is they should go to the BNI, if they don’t succeed, they should come to me…” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.

Listen to Yamin

The former deputy Ashanti regional minister in the erstwhile Mahama urged the police not to focus on only Chinese nationals because Indians and American nationals are also involved.

“The Indians are into the Galamsey too. I deported two of them and one American, and an American Malaysian. I became a threat to them. Eight months in Ashanti region I deported fourteen Chinese Galamseyers. They didn’t like me because I locked them up because it’s illegal…” he maintained.

Hot Audio: Aisha Huang was also a ‘criminal’ – Yamin asserts https://www.adomonline.com/hot-audio-aisha-huang-also-criminal-yamin-asserts/ Tue, 23 May 2017 14:56:50 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=132801 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, under the NDC government, Joseph Yamin, says Aisha Huang, the popular 31–year-old Chinese galamsey guru’s dealings go beyond what she has been arrested for.

Aisha Huang, believed to be deeply engaged in illegal mining in Ghana, was arrested earlier in May by the Ghana Immigration Service over her alleged involvement in illegal mining in an area belonging to the Volta Resources Company Limited.

It was reported that she is very influential and wields a lot of power due to the backing she receives from some high-profile state officers, including top security personnel.

But Joseph Yamin who is also a former Deputy Sports Minister and head of the anti-Galamsey committee for the Ashanti region said Aisha’s criminal activities can’t be equated to anything apart from armed robbery.

He added that, his intelligence was very close to arresting Aisha when his party was in power hence he worked with the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) and the Military on her case but failed to arrest her due to political influence.

“Aisha’s activities go beyond Galamsey. It goes into robbery. You can’t equate it to anything apart from robbery. I worked with the BNI, military, and the police on her case. I have never seen her before but she’s more popular in the Ashanti region…” he said.

He further stressed that, if he had only a month as the deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, he would have locked Aisha behind bars because he had already deported fourteen Chinese  ‘Galamseyers’ back to their country.

“If I were in Ashanti region for one more month, I would have arrested Aisha. I was very close to arresting her. Eight months in Ashanti region I deported fourteen Chinese Galamseyers…” he stated.

I lost my job because of anti-galamsey fight – Joseph Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/lost-job-anti-galamsey-fight-joseph-yamin/ Tue, 23 May 2017 07:24:33 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=132001 Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, under the NDC government, Joseph Yamin, has revealed he lost his job because of his stance against illegal mining in the region.

Joseph Yamin who is also a former Deputy Sports Minister and head of the anti-galamsey committee for the region said the anti-galamsey campaign that has been will not be won easily.

Speaking on a political discussion on a London-based radio station on Sunday, Mr Yamin said, he abandoned his hopes of enforcing the elimination of galamsey operation due to persecution from strong people within and outside the then NDC government, the armed forces, and chiefs.

He accused some senior officials and prominent people of allegedly engineering his “downfall” because of his firm anti-galamsey stance.

He said, his detractors felt uncomfortable with his anti-graft crusade and hence the reasons why he was sacked and subsequently replaced.

The officials, Yamin claimed, embarked on a mission to ensure he was sacked in their quest to continue profiting from galamsey activities that he observed was deep rooted in the authorities.

“The level of graft and other malpractices was so deep-rooted in the country and when I started to fight the vice in my capacity as chairman of the anti galamsey committee, some senior officials and members of the then opposition NPP, did not like the move and instead conspired to ensure my downfall,” he said.

Joseph Yamin added that, when he was at the fore-front to weed out galamsey operation within the Ashanti Region, he managed to deport 14 Chinese, 2 Indians and one American who were deeply involved in destroying Ghana water bodies for their selfish interest.

He said Nana Akufo-Addo and the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Peter Amewu, are very likely to fail in their bid to arrest illegal mining because of the enemies within the NPP administration.

He mentioned NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi as a kingpin in galamsey, suggesting that the NPP administration would have to do more.

In a strong rebuttal, a London-based communications member of the NPP, Peter Antwi Boasiako said, Joseph Yamin must bow his head in shame for admitting that officials of his NDC party were corrupt.

Peter Antwi Boasiako is confident the NPP administration will deliver on the promises to rid the country of illegal mining.

NDC’s Joseph Yamin needs a psychiatric check up – Abronye DC https://www.adomonline.com/ndcs-joseph-yamin-needs-psychiatric-check-abronye-dc/ Tue, 21 Mar 2017 16:12:35 +0000 http://ghana-news.adomonline.com/new/?p=38101 Brong Ahafo Youth Organizer of the NPP Abronye DC, known in real life as Kwame Baffoe, has urged the Former Deputy Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Joseph Yamin to visit the psychiatric hospital to mentally cross check his conscience.

According to him, there is no way the curse he, Abronye, invoked during the 2016 electioneering will manifest on to the children during the Kintampo excursion some days ago.

During the 2016 December elections, Abronye DC invoked curses ahead of the polls as a check on the EC Chair, Madam Charlotte Osei and any individual that will try through dubious means to aid the National Democratic Congress (NDC) win the elections.

It is due to this that Joseph Yamin alleged that the curses invoked on people during the electioneering by the Brong Ahafo regional youth organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe is the cause of most of the misfortunes happening after NPP attained power into office.

However, Abronye in a response stressed that his curses have not killed anyone hence he did not even call on the name of the ‘waterfall’s god’ as a deity to assist him achieve his goals.

According to him, he was the manager of the Kintampo waterfalls in the year 2006 under a registered company Abronye Investments Limited,  hence he knows the dos and don’ts of the tourist site; Kintampo would have been a better tourist site if he had not been taken off contract due to the change of government in 2008.

“My curses didn’t kill anyone. I didn’t even call on the name of the water god. How many of the kids do vote? They are not even up to 18 years.

“Joseph Yamin needs to visit the Psychiatric hospital. He needs to go check his brain. He can be wearing a suit but have issues at head. I am not ready to meet him. He might harm me…” he said on Asempa fm’s Ekosi Sen Tuesday.

The previous NDC government, he explained, was the sole reason for the disaster because there had never been a renovation of the site by cutting the huge growing branches of the trees hovering over the waterfall that was likely to put the lives of visitors in danger.

“In 2006 Abronye investment was the company renovating Kintampo falls to its fullest. We always looked for people to cut down the trees in a special way. Those are the trees that have outgrown to that level. The new government came to sack us in 2008. If we were there till now we would have taken care of it…”

According to him, there have been several major disasters during the Mills-Mahama- Led administration that have deeper meanings deeming it satisfying to relating them as curses, comparing to the recent unfortunate happenings under the NPP govt.

“During NDC’s era, November 2016, metro mass killed 73 people at Kintampo. Would we say NDC killed them? In the 2016, June 3rd disaster 365 people died. Should we say it’s NDC that killed them? 62 people in 2008 died at Obuasi after former ambassador to USA Ohene Agyekum cursed. Who should we blame…?” he quizzed rhetorically.

I’ll walk out of church anytime Rev. Martey stands in front of the pulpit – Yamin https://www.adomonline.com/ill-walk-church-anytime-rev-martey-stands-front-pulpit-yamin/ Mon, 13 Mar 2017 16:22:23 +0000 http://ghana-news.adomonline.com/new/?p=25351 The Former Deputy Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Joseph Yamin has threatened to walk out of church anytime the former Presbyterian Moderator Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey stands in front of the pulpit to preach to a congregation he happens to be part.

He said though he is a Presbyterian, he will never listen to the preaching of his former moderator because his preaching is not based on nationalism but attacks on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Some members of NDC have accused the former moderator of hitting hard at the NDC without recourse.

According to Mr Yamin, Rev. Martey and some renowned pastors such as the head pastor of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Pastor Mensah Otabil have been painting the NDC black in their preaching.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM, Mr Yamin further accused the former Moderator of developing intense hatred for the former President John Dramani Mahama during the electioneering.

He stated that he has no qualms people visiting these pastors’ churches but will never go to their churches to worship God.

He described them as politicians in pastoral clothes.

‘They should tell Ghanaians that they made wrong submissions. They made us believed that prayers couldn’t solve any problem. I will not visit Rev Owusu Bempeh’s church, neither will I go to Pastor Otabil’s church or listen to his preaching. I have never listened to him before, I always hear his preaching from third parties. I am a Presbyterian but I don’t listen to Rev. Emmanuel Martey’s preaching. I will walk out if he stands in front of the pulpit to preach, because his preaching will be based on NPP and not nationalism, they have taken on political attire.

The respected man of God Pastor Mensa Otabil said prayers couldn’t solve Ghana’s problems, and Rev. Owusu Bempah is now saying that they prayed for Nana Addo to win power, why couldn’t that same God help change the fortunes of the country during Mahama’s administration?. Its sheer hatred for John Mahama. Owusu Bimpeh had confirmed today that he and the other pastors don’t like John Mahama,’ he fumed.

The former deputy coordinator of NADMO said men of God are role models who should lead exemplary lives for others to follow than wearing political party colours.

He remarked that he admires the Chairman of the National Peace Council Rev. Emmanuel Asante saying it’s difficult for one to tell where his political affiliation when he is preaching or granting media interviews.
