Earlier, Sonnie Badu shared a post claiming some bad Nigerians have taken advantage of the xenophobic happenings in South Africa and Nigeria to further attack Chinese and other nationals residing in their country.

He explained that gesture wouldn’t move the continent forward, hence Nigerians should refrain from playing a tit-for-tat game with it.

But, according to some Nigerians who commented under his post, Sonnie Badu is not speaking the truth, hence needs to verify before spreading info on his Facebook post.

One Nigerian, Dare Akande told Sonnie that he is only spreading “fake news”. Adding that, “you sing Nigeria song made money from it and you now have the gut to spread fake news about our country. Just face your praise & worship business and ask for forgiveness. And get some haircut too, that might help your discerning spirit.”

Another, Ayiba Amadu, who felt disrespected said he couldn’t fathom why Sonnie Badu was silent when South Africans started the attacks.

He said, “Sunday MINISTER SONNIE BADU, You are wrong, very wrong, I’m beginning to feel you have some sentiment against Nigeria, when SA started it, you were mute, all of a sudden you’ve found your voice and you’re even adding seasoning to your lies here.”

Audio: Banda youth invoke curses on alleged xenophobic attackers https://www.adomonline.com/audio-banda-youth-invoke-curses-alleged-xenophobic-attackers/ Wed, 15 Mar 2017 14:45:16 +0000 http://ghana-news.adomonline.com/new/?p=29101 Some angry youth of Banda in the Brong Ahafo Region have invoked curses on writers of supposed xenophobic letters threatening non-natives in the area to leave the town.

The threats emanated from an unidentified group in the area which is fiercely opposed to all government workers who are not natives of the district.

On Tuesday 14 March, a letter written by the group calling itself Concerned Youth of Banda said: “This is to inform all strangers working in this community/school that we are not ready to stay peacefully with you in this community. If you do not leave this district, then we cannot guarantee your safety here.

The letter continued that “What is happening to strangers in South Africa will happen to you or what happened in Faith School in 2016 will repeat itself. We cannot sit down for you to take our job opportunities from us.”

Schools and health facilities have been closed; whiles teachers and health workers have fled the town for safety following letters written by the group.

To demonstrate their innocence, the youth invoked curses on the faceless people behind the letter

A member of the Youth Committee, Tofak Williams told Adom News they have been forced to rain curses on them because their lives are at risk.

“We have nothing against anyone in this town and so we don’t know why some people should just write letters of threat to people working there. We don’t know them and so we have cursed them to die and not threaten our lives anymore” he said.
