He was 71.

A “cardiac arrest” call was placed and medics were sent to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Fla, according to TMZ.

He was stretchered into an ambulance.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away.” WWE wrote on X. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Hogan underwent a neck procedure in May, TMZ reported at the time. US Weekly reported last month that he then underwent a “pretty serious” heart procedure.

Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, rose to prominence in the 1980s with his All-American “Hulkamania” persona and helped transform WWE, then known as the WWF, into a national powerhouse.

He became WWF’s top attraction as Vince McMahon launched WrestleMania, which has became the biggest annual wrestling event in the world.

The first WrestleMania became a pop-culture phenomenon, as Hogan teamed with Mr. T to defeat Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper in the main event.

Born in Augusta, Ga. in 1953, Hogan had two children, Brooke and Nick, with his first wife, Linda.

After Linda filed for divorce in 2007, Hogan married Jennifer McDaniel in 2010. They got divorced in 2022.

Hogan then got married to Sky Daily in 2023.

Hogan appeared at the Republican National Convention in July 2024 in support of Donald Trump’s run for president.

His last appearance on WWE programming came during Raw’s Netflix debut on Jan. 6.

Ghana’s Stacey Harry finished 4th in the finals of the men’s 100m butterfly, narrowly missing out on a medal. 

South Africa’s Clayton Jimmie grabbed the gold with a dominant display, with Namibia’s Alexander Skinner and Egypt’s Abdalla Nasr finishing second and third respectively. 

Ghana’s swimming team coach, Pavel Kutashev, was however impressed by his team’s outing.

“It was a good day. It wasn’t perfect, when you consider we had two 4th places, but a good day overall, he told Joy Sports.

There was more gloom for Team Ghana in wrestling, with all Ghanaian wrestlers eliminated on the first day of competition.

The biggest defeat came in the men’s greco 77kg category, where Ghana’s Mugis Salifu lasted less than 2 minutes in the first round before being overpowered by his Kenyan opponent Mathonya Mathayo 10-0. 

Badminton provided very little good news, with Ghana’s only surviving men’s doubles team of Leslie Addo and Ebenezer Korampong suffering a painful quarterfinal loss to South Africa’s Jarred Elliott and Robert Summers to close out a very disappointing day for the team. 

Ghana saw no mixed doubles or women’s doubles teams progress past the Round 16 stage. 

Ghana was also dumped out of all singles events on the day, with no Ghanaian progressing past the round 16. 

This will be the third edition of Crown Jewel, which was first held in 2018. The card of matches includes a thrilling Triple Threat match between Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

“I don’t care that I don’t have a champion’s advantage for this match,” said Lynch. “I don’t care that Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks are convinced they’re gonna be walking away with this title. There is no world in which I lose and those two b****es better get ready, because ‘The Man’ is coming their way!”

Other clashes to look forward to include a No Holds Barred match between Bobby Lashley and Goldberg, with the latter looking to avenge his defeat at SummerSlam; the team of Riddle and Randy Orton (RK-Bro) defending their Raw Tag Team titles against ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and the giant Omos; and Drew McIntyre will look to become a three-time WWE Champion when he battles Big E.

But the main event everyone is talking about is a match for the Universal Championship between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Reigns with help from council Paul Heyman and his cousins, The Usos’, which together form ‘The Bloodline’ has dominated WWE for well over a year now.

However, a potent threat emerged at the SummerSlam event when Brock Lesnar returned to WWE in shocking style. ‘The Beast’ is one of the all-time greats and certainly has the power and skill to take down Reigns, while his past relationship with Heyman who served Lesnar in a similar role to his position in ‘The Bloodline’ now adds a layer of complexity to this showdown.

“Roman Reigns… You call yourself the ‘Head of the Table’. You want to be acknowledged,” said Lesnar. “Well, at Crown Jewel, your time as WWE’s ‘Big Dog’ comes to an end. Brock Lesnar is back, and that’s bad, bad news for you.”

Crown Jewel will also feature a Hell in a Cell match between hated rivals Edge and Seth Rollins, as well as the finals for the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments.

The action begins on the morning of Wednesday 8 September with WWE NXT Episode 633. 

Up and comer Odyssey Jones has made an impressive impact in the NXT Breakout Tournament and looks to be a superstar of the future.

“I’m upset, I came so close to reaching my goal and winning this Breakout Tournament,” explained Jones. “Coming up short against Carmello hurts. I mean, I thought I had it, I got a little overconfident at the end, and got lazy with my work and my technique. I’m gonna take this as a learning curve, come back, train harder, train longer, train smarter and be ready for whatever is next.”

Saturday 11 September brings Episode 1151 of WWE SmackDown. The recent SummerSlam Pay-Per-View event saw Edge claim an epic and inspiring victory over Seth Rollins… though it seems the pairs’ rivalry might not be done just yet.

“I defeated a generational talent in Seth Rollins,” said Edge. “But I paid for it. I had to go to a dark place, a place I don’t like to go to, to find the most savage version of myself. It affected me… it affected me at home and wherever I went, but I did it. This chapter is closed, I’m moving on.”

To which Rollins responded, “It was a loss that taught me something about myself. As much as it pains me to admit this, at SummerSlam, Edge, you won my respect. And my admiration. If I want to fight my way back to the Universal Championship, maybe I need to be a little more like you.”

A video of a pastor allegedly “wrestling” with one of his possessed church members in a deliverance encounter has gone viral social media.

In the video, the pastor is seen carrying the church member on his shoulder and throwing him off to the ground in an attempt to exorcise him.

Some concerned folks on social media have advised the allegedly possessed man to visit a hospital because he could be bleeding internally the wrestling-styled deliverance session.

Interestingly, a junior pastor at the church patted the pastor on the back with accolades such as “Lord Heavy Weight Champion of the Most High” at the same time cautioning the congregation to avoid “practicing their pastors wrestling style” at home.

“This is the power house… the commander of heaven battalions. This is dangerous. Don’t practice this at home. This is fearful or fearless by the power of the holy ghost…” the junior pastor chanted.
