Addressing key issues, she emphasized that water scarcity remains the constituency’s major problem, and in response, she has initiated the drilling of 30 boreholes across various parts of Trobu.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Ms Owusu revealed that she successfully lobbied the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to address the poor state of roads, with ongoing projects currently underway.

“Our major problem in the constituency is water. As a parliamentary candidate, I have initiated the drilling of 30 boreholes in various parts of the constituency. Additionally, I have lobbied the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, for our roads to be fixed, and he has initiated the plans which are currently underway,” she said.

Madam Gloria highlighted her passion for supporting the Free SHS policy and her annual contributions to first-year students, providing provisions and financial aid.

She also promised to build a state-of-the-art library to serve students in the constituency.

“I am very interested in education, which is why I always support Akufo Addo for his free SHS policy. Every year, I provide first-year free SHS students with provisions and money. We also have a community library for students to go and learn after school. I will also build a magnificent library to cater to all students in the Trobo constituency because the best BECE students come from my constituency.”

On youth empowerment, Ms Gloria disclosed that 2,362 young people, particularly school dropouts and women aged 18 to 35, have been trained in vocational skills such as soap making, makeup, and hairdressing, with startup items distributed to support their businesses.

She further expressed confidence in securing 100,000 votes for the NPP and also assured that no household would be left out in her campaign efforts.

“I am urging all eligible voters in the Trobu Constituency to vote for the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming elections. I am aiming to secure about 100,000 votes, an increase from the over 66,000 votes the President received in the 2020 elections. Over 40,000 people did not vote last year, so we are making efforts to reach every household and ensure no one is left out. I am very confident of winning the elections,” she stated.

Trobu NDC, NPP PCs face off on constituency watch [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/trobu-ndc-npp-pcs-face-off-on-constituency-watch-video/ Fri, 03 May 2024 19:43:43 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2389656 The Trobu constituency parliamentary candidates for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) have clashed over the track records of their respective parties.

The duo, Dr John Kofi Delali Halm and Gloria Owusu speaking on the constituency watch on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, claim to have a better record.

The NDC’s Dr Halm listed the Pokuase Interchange, which he stated the erstwhile Mahama administration negotiated the project and secured funding.

He also mentioned Radio Mashie which he said was set up while he [Dr Halm] was a board member of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, the Mayera Health Centre among other social interventions.

Personally, Dr Halm said he has a clinic at Amasaman stadium road where constituents benefit from frequent health screening and education.

However, Madam Owusu stressed the achievements of the NPP government and its vision for Ghanaians outshine that of the NDC.

The NPP candidate said the party’s record shows they have an upper hand over the NDC and that will manifest on December 7.

In this regard, she said Trobu was targeting 100,000 votes for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and will also increase the NPP’s vote from 60,000 to 90,000.

Election 2024: Trobu seat will be ‘cool chop’ if… NDC parliamentary aspirant https://www.adomonline.com/election-2024-trobu-seat-will-be-cool-chop-if-ndc-parliamentary-aspirant/ Thu, 13 Apr 2023 18:46:27 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2239031 A National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant in the Trobu constituency of the Greater Accra region, Kwame Olympio is confident he will emerge victorious.

According to him, his victory in the election set for May 13, 2023, will further increase the NDC’s chances of snatching the seat from the incumbent, Moses Anim of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Olympio who is contesting the primaries with three other persons said this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Thursday.

The aspirant, among other things, noted that, the incumbent MP has lost touch with the constituents as they cannot boast of any development in his tenure.

Mr Anim retained his seat for a second term after he gained 63,580 votes, representing 61.8 per cent out of the 102,280 total valid votes cast in the 2020 election.

His contender, Emmanuel Yaw Agbesi Gbedemah of the NDC had 35,182.

This leaves a margin of over 28,000 votes which the NDC needs to garner to be able to take over the seat.

But Olympio said he is the magic wand NDC needs to win the seat in the 2024 general elections.

“The dynamics have changed and the people of Trobu know for a fact the party has been rebranded and made very attractive. So we will even get more than the 28, 000 votes and we are taking the Trobu seat by hook or crook because I am promoting unity,” he bragged.

If NDC delegates fail to vote for him, Olympio said he will support any candidate they elect with resources at his disposal to ensure the victory of the NDC.

However, he said it will be his greatest desire to be the NDC’s parliamentary candidate in the general election.
