A young girl whose energetic dance to Wendy Shay’s song “Too Late” went viral has received a life-changing reward from the music star herself.

Tracy, a pupil of Ridoana Comprehensive School in Ashaiman, captured hearts online when a 30-second video of her passionately singing and dancing to the hit song surfaced on April 3, 2025.

While many praised her enthusiasm and talent, some critics questioned her attire and expressions, deeming them inappropriate for a child.

Wendy Shay, who had previously performed at the same school during the All Ashaiman Schools Festival, returned to honor Tracy. In a heartwarming video shared on her social media pages, Wendy is seen addressing students and staff at the school.

“About a week ago, I came here to this school to perform, and during my performance, there was this talented, beautiful, shining star—Tracy—dancing and singing passionately to my song ‘Too Late.’ The video went viral and is still trending. So I came back today to say thank you and to reward my little star, my shining star, Tracy,” she said.

Wendy Shay then announced a full educational scholarship for Tracy, covering her education from Class 5 all the way to university level.

As part of her visit, Wendy also presented Tracy with an undisclosed sum of money, assorted drinks, and other gift items.

The memories came to a sweet end with a passionate kiss from the lovers.

“Happy Birthday my LOVE ? With YOU, love is a beautiful experience! Happy birthday my love! Let’s continue making great memories together,” she captioned the video.

Sarkodie, Tracy and their daughter, Titi, were forced to stay in the foreign land after Coronavirus led to a closure of borders.

However, some countries, like Ghana have eased restrictions, allowing the celebrity family back into the country.

Their arrival was made known in a tweet by Tracy Sarkcess, who thanked God for traveling mercies.

Like the country demands, Sarkodie and his family are expected to go into mandatory quarantine for two weeks.

Ghana is currently on a mission to repatriate all stranded citizens back into the country.

The first batch arrived yesterday, June 17 but it is unclear if the ‘Sarkcess family’ was part of the batch.

His wife, Tracy on the other hand was disappointed in the media outlet and attributed its false news to a slow day.

Some social media users, reacting to the denial, still believed there was an iota of truth in the rumour and suspects Sarkodie intended the news to be kept a secret until appropriate time.

The rapper who appeared on Westwood crib session in UK revealed to the host Tim Westwood that one of the hardest moments he had with his baby mama, Tracy was the first month she gave birth to their first child, Titi.
According to him, he was advised to avoid any sexual intercourse with the new mum for a period of one month and that was indeed challenging for him considering the fact that he could do foreplay without sex.
“So my daughter came and the first two weeks or one month, I’m not supposed to touch her (Tracy). You are not supposed to do anything and that was like the hardest time. You can (hold her) but you don’t have to let it lead to the main thing (sex) so you need to take a break which is like very very hard.
What I was doing was trying to take my mind off it and trying to do things that can make me focus on something else.” He told Tim

Giving reasons for her decision to get rid of the pregnancy, the ‘Devil Between My Legs’ actress revealed that the former Kotoko player dumped her after she conceived and was not ready to father a child.
Tracey continued that money was not a problem because her family was ready to take care of the child but the lack of attention and love from her boyfriend during the pregnancy period tempted her to have an abortion had it not be Vivian Jill Lawrence.
On how her Godmother saved the child, Miss Boakye said, Vivian Jill Lawrence asked her not to contact her again if she proceeds with her plans to abort the pregnancy.
The mother of one added that the threat changed her plans to get rid of the child who was few months old in her tummy.
“It was Vivian Jill who threatened to stop talking to me if I abort the child. In fact, I was tired of crying everyday. I didn’t have a financial problem because my family was always ready to support but I never had attention and love from the man during the pregnancy period so I decided to get rid of it and move on with my life.
“The time I planned on aborting the child, I had already told Vivian so she asked me to delete her number if I implement my plans so I just had to stop what I wanted to do. That was the best decision she (Vivian Jill Lawrence) helped me to take” Tracey Boakye told Zionfelix on the show.
