His assurance came on Monday, May 5, in response to a demonstration by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, protesting the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

The protesters presented a petition to the presidency after submitting similar ones to Parliament and the Judicial Service.

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr. Dogbe stressed that the current administration respects the right to assembly and has consistently upheld that right.

“President Mahama has always supported the people’s right to peaceful demonstration and will continue to do so,” he said.
“We urge all citizens to exercise their freedoms responsibly and within the law.”

He further emphasized that peaceful protest is a vital part of democratic engagement and should not be seen as a threat.

“So long as protests are lawful and non-violent, they are not just tolerated but welcomed,” Mr. Dogbe stated.

He concluded by calling for mutual respect between demonstrators and state institutions.

“We encourage demonstrators to maintain order and protect public property. In return, the government remains committed to safeguarding their rights and ensuring their safety,” he added.

In particular, she commended Stan Dogbe, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and others who remained steadfast in their support of Mahama during a challenging period for the NDC.

In a post on social media, Joyce Bawah highlighted the importance of loyalty and unity within the party, especially after the defeat in 2016, which saw the NDC lose both the presidency and the parliamentary majority to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

She noted that while many figures distanced themselves from the party’s leadership, the commitment of Stan Dogbe, Omane Boamah, and several others to Mahama and the NDC’s ideals played a crucial role in sustaining party morale.

Bawah Mogtari praised the dedication of these individuals, pointing out that their loyalty was instrumental in helping Mahama maintain his political presence and eventually return as the party’s flagbearer for the 2020 and 2024 elections.

She emphasised that the support of such key figures is vital for the NDC’s continued relevance and success in national politics.

Looking ahead to the upcoming 2024 elections, Joyce Bawah expressed confidence that Mahama’s inner circle, including those she commended, will continue to work tirelessly to secure victory for the NDC.

She stressed the need for all members of the party to emulate their loyalty and dedication as the NDC gears up for another battle at the polls.

Stan Dogbe tackles Ben Ephson over Mahama https://www.adomonline.com/stan-dogbe-tackles-ben-ephson-over-mahama/ Thu, 26 Jan 2023 09:17:12 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2209086 A former Presidential staffer under the erstwhile Mahama administration, Stan Dogbe, has taken on pollster Ben Ephson over his comments on the Minority leadership reshuffle.

According to Mr Dogbe, the Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper has found a new job in granting interviews to attack Mr Mahama.

This comes after Mr Ephson accused John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Asiedu Nketia of orchestrating the reshuffle.

Speaking in an interview on Starr News, the pollster said the reasons provided by the party do not justify their actions.

“I think that it is the working of former President John Mahama and Aseidu Nketia and I am going to wonder how the Minority Caucus is going to be. I suspect politically Mr Aseidu Nketia and John Mahama’s handiwork. Are they saying that before 2020 these economic issues were not there?” he claimed.

But, Mr Dogbe says the allegation is one of the numerous attacks the pollster has launched against his former boss over the years.

Expressing his displeasure in a Facebook post, Mr Dogbe said the sustained negativity against John Mahama will lead Mr Ephson nowhere.

“This Ben Ephson man is at it again. Obviously, he has always been a shameless character so he cares less about himself when he chooses to go where his stomach leads him.

It is annoying hearing govt say there is no ‘dumsor’ when it is killing businesses – Stan Dogbe https://www.adomonline.com/it-is-annoying-hearing-govt-say-there-is-no-dumsor-when-it-is-killing-businesses-stan-dogbe/ Sun, 17 Apr 2022 18:50:39 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2105801 A former presidential staffer in the former John Mahama administration has criticized government for deliberately being untruthful to Ghanaians about the return of “dumsor”.

According to Stan Dogbe, the intermittent power supply also known as “dumsor” is having adverse effects on businesses, causing most of them to shut down.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: “It is sickening the rate at which long periods of unplanned power cuts continue to affect businesses and increase the cost of running same.”

Due to the challenges businesses are encountering, he said it is “annoying” hearing Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah and Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh “lie to Ghanaians that there is no dumsor.”

Mr Dogbe also bemoaned how government officials “will go stand in front of their churches and worship God, yet won’t speak the truth.”

On April 13, Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh disclosed the reasons behind the recent power outages experienced in parts of the country.

According to him, this is as a result of some unfavorable load imbalance in the systems used in the delivery of power.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to bear with the Ministry as it strives to resolve the situation.

“A couple of days ago, we had the Aboadze Switch Yard burnt and has led to a lot of intermittent power curtailment in parts of Western Region, Central Region, and even the Greater Accra Region. Because what GRIDCo is doing is to put all the networks in a circuit such that energy can be wheeled wherever with automatic metres. But that also meant that they will increasingly have trip-offs if the load imbalance is unfavourable to the system. So the system decides to shut itself down to prevent machine and equipment damages.”

“So it’s true that parts of the country are experiencing intermittent power surges because of a combination of factors, which are the works that we are doing and the light going off by itself.”

Meanwhile, Mr Stan Dogbe says the faith and trust in the politician will continue to dwindle should the Akufo-Addo-led administration continue to think they can do anything and lie to the people.

To avert this, he said the government must take its responsibility to citizens seriously.

Stan Dogbe gives interesting twist to Saglemi Housing deal https://www.adomonline.com/stan-dogbe-gives-interesting-twist-to-saglemi-housing-deal/ Thu, 05 Aug 2021 14:28:05 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1996596 A former Presidential staffer under the erstwhile Mahama administration, Stan Dogbe, is of the view that if anyone should be prosecuted over the Saglemi Housing project, it should be Enoch Teye (ET) Mensah.

His position, he said, stems from the fact that Mr Mensah, who is now a Council of State Member, was the Minister for Works and Housing at the time the agreement was signed.

Mr Dogbe’s comment comes on the back of the Attorney General, Godfred Dame’s charges against Collins Dauda, who was Mr Mensah’s successor.

Mr Dauda, together with three others, have been charged with causing financial loss to the state in the controversial deal.

Mr Dauda, who supervised the initiative at the time it was approved by Parliament, has also been charged with intentionally misapplying public property.

But reacting to the development in a Facebook post, Mr Dogbe argued all documents on the deal were signed by the former Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament.

He stressed any act that requires prosecution or financial loss for that matter is the result of his actions, decisions and signing of the agreement.

Mahama cut ties with Stan Dogbe – Fuseini reveals https://www.adomonline.com/mahama-cut-ties-with-stan-dogbe-fuseini-reveals/ Fri, 24 Aug 2018 19:06:32 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1286951 National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart, Inusah Fuseini, has revealed that former President John Mahama distanced himself from Stan Dogbe after the Ghana@59 brochure scandal.

This revelation on Thursday evening is contrary to widespread perception at the time that Mr Mahama was protecting Stan Dogbe, a controversial political appointee in the then Mahama-led administration.

“After the Independence Square brochure brouhaha, I was privileged to meet the President…he told me what he was trying to do and he did it. But people simply did not appreciate what he had done. Stan Dogbe, before the Independence Day celebration thing, was always with the President after that, Stan Dogbe was never with the President,” Inusah Fuseini, Tamale Central MP, said on PM Express.

Inusah Fuseini made the revelation on the current affairs show to buttress a point that former President Mahama’s announcement on Thursday to contest the NDC presidential primaries was a well-thought-through decision.

Show host, Nana Ansah Kwao IV, had asked the NDC MP if Mr. Mahama had taken steps to deal with people like Stan Dogbe, who had earned a lot of public disaffection but remain close to him.

Stan Dogbe once destroyed a voice recorder belonging to a reporter at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC). He was never sanctioned.

Brochure fiasco

Grave grammatical and factual errors inundated a 30-page brochure that was distributed to dignitaries to celebrate Ghana’s 59th Independence Day anniversary in 2016.

The incident caused many critics – both home and abroad – to criticise the government on many media platforms, including social media.

For instance, Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, one of two African Presidents invited to the March 6 anniversary, was designated as the President of Ghana in the error-ridden brochure.

Stan Dogbe was believed to be deeply involved in the processes that led to the printing of the brochure, however, acting Director of the Information Services Department (ISD) at the time, Francis Kwarteng Arthur was fired after he took responsibility for the errors in the brochure.

Stan Dogbe remained a presidential staffer days after the incident, stoking public speculation of a deliberate attempt to protect him.

One communications expert, Dr Eric Opoku, suggested that President John Mahama was covering up for Stan Dogbe after Mr Mahama described the errors in the brochure as ‘printer’s devil.’

“If you listen to the president, he is trying to enlarge the blame and shift it entirely away from Stan Dogbe. I think that is quite unfortunate. I don’t see why the president couldn’t be bold and say that: ‘This person did this, this person did that, and I am getting them out of my office,’” Mr Opoku told Accra-based Class FM.

Stan Dogbe maintained that, the chief was not the only one present at the gym when the incident occurred thus should stop his “coloured narrative”.

In a video posted on Facebook, the Okyehene is heard saying the former Vice President who died on Friday, 29 June 2018, was transported to the hospital at the back of a pick-up, when efforts to revive him failed.

RELATED STORY: “I was with Amissah Arthur before his death” – Okyehene (AUDIO)

According to the Okyehene, there was no ambulance to convey the former vice president to the 37 Military Hospital — where he was pronounced dead.

“As it’s been for 14 years, any time I go there, I meet my friend and we’ll talk, shake hands … and then go to our different machines… I heard ‘bang’! Three women in the gym were screaming, I left my machine and went and there laid my friend trying to find some air to breathe.

We gathered around him and pumped his heart as hard as we could, yelled out his name; his wife was calling out: ‘Jesus, save him!’ I just said: ‘call the ambulance, let’s take him to the hospital.’ There were about seven, eight of us, and something dawned on me. When we took him out, there was no ambulance, there was no car, so we threw the former vice-president in the back of a pick-up and drove off to 37” he narrated.

RELATED STORY: AUDIO: I used to buy ‘Koko and bofrot’ for Amissah Arthur – NDC MP recounts

But Stan Dogbe who labelled the narration as a ‘coloured popularity seeking story’ has questioned why the Chief did not send the late former Vice President to the hospital in his car.

In a Facebook post the former Presidential Staffer advised that “someone should please tell the chief that he was not the only one present when the tragedy struck our late boss and VP of this country to go around talking. “

Stan Dogbe argued that, the Okyehene “had a luxury vehicle there, and many others had their cars there, if he had a good heart and a spirit of helping others, maybe; just maybe, he would have sent him to the hospital in his car.”

RELATED STORY: Mahama commiserates with Amissah-Arthur family, signs book of condolence

He further urged the Paramount chief to “cease the recklessness of seeking cheap popularity by going to public events and seeking to share coloured stories. Granted that he was sent to the hospital in someone’s vehicle, a pick-up, is the back seat of the vehicle, the bucket of the pick-up as his statement sort to portray. Which gym in this country has a standby ambulance anyway?

Your ‘son’, Nana Addo is watching on as the National Ambulance Service collapses… deal with it and leave the family of our late boss to mourn their son, husband, grandpa, father, uncle and relation.”
