The prosecution led by Chief Inspector Simon Apiorsornu told an Accra District Court that the AG has directed the police to ascertain certain facts and report back for the final advice..

The court presided over by Aret Nsemoh adjourned the matter to February 12.

Obengfo is in court for allegedly murdering Statcy Offei Darko, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of National Entrepreneurship Innovative Programme (NEIP) who had visited his facility.

An accomplice Edward Amponsah a hospital Cleaner, is being held for impersonation. The two accused persons’ pleas have not been taken by the Court.

Obengfo is on bail in the sum of ¢100,000.00 with one surety to be justified.

A Circuit Court had also admitted Dr Obengfo to ¢50,000.00 bail for operating a health facility without a licence and practising medicine without lawful authority.

The facts as narrated in the murder case by the prosecution was that the complainant, Nana Akosua Animah, mother of Ms Offei Darko aged 37 resides at Michel Camp, Tema.

On May 20, last year Stacy went to Obeng-Andoh’s hospital for a Liposuction and fat Transfer surgery, but she died at about 16:00 hours the following day.

The prosecution said on May 22, based on the orders of Dr Obeng-Andoh; Amponsah sent the body to three different mortuary facilities, but the body was rejected with the reason that a close relative must be present before it could be accepted in those morgues.

Amponsah, subsequently, sent the body to Saint Gregory Hospital Mortuary at Buduburam where he falsely presented himself to the Morgue Attendant as the biological brother of Stacy and thus authorised that the body be embalmed.

According to the prosecution, the body was then kept in the morgue without the knowledge of the deceased actual relatives or the Police.

The deceased relatives, however, got wind of the incident on May 24, and reported the matter to the Police.

When the Police proceeded to the morgue and inspected the body, it found multiple surgery fresh scars on some parts. The body was then transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and later the accused persons were arrested.

Stacy Offei-Darko, the late the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP) had visited the Advanced BodySculpt Centre, Obengfo Hospital twice before her demise, the hospital’s chief executive officer, Dr Dominic Obeng Andoh has revealed.

Dr Obeng Andoh has therefore refused to take any blame for the late Stacy’s death because according to him, the liposuction done on her was successful and came with no complications.

“My client came for liposuction and I later heard that she had died but she didn’t die as a result of the liposuction because there were no complications associated with the procedure. She has been at my hospital twice and so why would she come back again for the second time if indeed we didn’t do a good job,” he quizzed.

Stacy Offei-Darko passed away at the Obenfo Hospital in Accra on Monday, May 21, 2018.

And, the hospital’s authorities allegedly deposited her body at the morgue four days after her death without informing her family members.

According to Stacy’s family, her body was deposited at the morgue within four hours after her death but they were informed about the incident three days after.

The development infuriated the family and friends of the deceased leading to the arrest of Dr Obeng-Andoh.

But Dr Obeng-Andoh on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday denied depositing her body at the morgue four days after her death.

It’s not true that we kept her body and deposited it at the morgue for 4 days. That didn’t happen. If someone loses his or her life at a hospital, can the body be at the morgue after four days? No. We did nothing untoward as far as her death was concerned. I won’t make any further comments because the issue is still in court,” he stated.

My licence is intact – Dr Obengfo breaks silence on Asempa FM https://www.adomonline.com/my-licence-is-intact-dr-obengfo-breaks-silence-on-asempa-fm/ Thu, 13 Sep 2018 16:54:53 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1330011 Director of the Advanced BodySculpt Centre, Obengfo Hospital, Dr Dominic Obeng Andoh, has rubbished claims by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council that his license has been revoked.

The Council had said that Dr Obeng Andoh was operating illegally at the time Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Stacy Offei Darko, died at his facility.

But Dr Obeng Andoh said he was put on the permanent register of practitioners by the Medical and Dental Council in 2000 after completing his house job and therefore could not have operated illegally.

Speaking exclusively on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Thursday, he said he was accused by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council of operating illegally following a billboard advertisement he carried on hernia.

My license has never been revoked by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and so they should stop saying that my license has been revoked. I did adverts on hernia and posted them on billboards and as soon as they saw it, they raised concerns because they claim people were having complications so they suspended my operations in 2011,” he said.

He said he wasn’t given a fair hearing and therefore was forced to appeal his suspension when the matter was taken to court and the suspension was put on hold.

“I appealed with the help of my lawyers and the court put the matter on hold. The high court could not rule and the case is still pending so why will they say that my license, which they gave me, has been revoked,” he quizzed.

He said though the case is still in court, he pays his dues to the council every year to ensure that his license is renewed, adding that the payment of the retention fees puts him in good standing.

“Stacy whom I have a child with did not go to Obengfo Hospital for Malaria; she went there for surgery to reduce her thighs and hands,” he stated on Accra-based Net 2 TV Wednesday.

The exposé comes after mother of the deceased, Nana Akosua Anima has dismissed speculations that her daughter died from a liposuction gone wrong.

According to her, such claims are preposterous because her daughter was beautiful and had a perfect body.

With a flat stomach and a body like hers, Madam Anima said it would have been ridiculous for her daughter to think of doing anything to her body.

But Ken Agyapong on Net 2 maintained that, the claims that Stacy went to Obengfo to treat malaria is an obvious untruth.

“Stacy confided in John Boadu and told him about her plans to reduce her thighs and hands at the hospital,” he added.

The host of ‘Restoration’ show on Joyprime (a channel on Multi TV) and wife of Okyeame Quofi who is a year older today, took to her Instagram platform and narrated how doctors did their best to keep her alive.
“It has been a while you heard from me. Well it was all in the plan of God. Today is my birthday but strangely I am more sober than I anticipated I would be. I have a testimony that melts me at the feet of God in His throne room. I was very sick in December. I didn’t even get to celebrate Christmas. My phones were off and doctors were doing everything possible to keep me alive. Pastors were praying so much for God to heal me”.
According to her, “from 17th December to 30th December I had an out of body experience. For a moment I thought I was dead for real. I met Jesus one on one. He is real. He told me to preach him to the world. To tell people He is coming sooner than we think. I met His Father God. God is real. His face shines like the sun. His beard as white as snow and longer than any fabric yards ever produced. Heaven is real. It’s a beautiful nation. God wants us all in heaven when his son appears in His glory”.
“This is no myth” she noted and added “I experienced it”.

Stacy urged all to “turn to Jesus now. I said He doesn’t believe in religions but believes in life. That you should love each other as ourselves and be selfless. He came to die for our sake and his blood has made us whole”.
In her post, she also expressed her appreciation to her husband, doctors, pastors and prophets for their prayers and efforts to save her life.
“Shalom. Say a prayer for me today” she requested.
