The contestants, tasked to prepare local soups of their choice, gave the chefs good food to fuel their souls for an amazing week ahead.

First week edition winner, Abigail Hansen Appiah, filled the atmosphere with the sweet aroma of her ‘Omotuo and Nkatiekonto’, and the judges were all for it.

Second week winner, Maame Yaa Sefa Akomaa Adjei, together with Gertuude Okine  and Rodney Boakye, prepared ‘Ebunuebunu’ which the judges thought was a tight competition for local chop bars.

That notwithstanding, Clifford Okansey, ever ready to battle the girls went a step ahead with his well flavored palm nut soup.

Banku and Okro soup was not just a meal for the night but an exquisite experience for both Khadijah Malik and Loviette Hlorlewu.

All the way from the Volta region, Maria Chiara De Matteis did not disappoint the judges with her Tilapia light soup she said was made with love.

Nigeria’s Eba and Egusi soup found its way into the kitchen of Big Chef when Victoria Chukuike with smiles beaming on her face made a delicious and attractive platting.

Christopher Adebeoa had the judges licking their fingers with his sumptuous ‘werewere’ soup.

Regina Abila was crowned the best cook of the night with her light soup the judges said did not taste local yet absolutely finger-licking.

Doris Mawutor Kashiku, the woman at Assin Dansame in the Assin North Municipality in the Central region, who allegedly poured hot palm nut soup on the Praso Police Commander, Supt. Isaac Tetteh during a feud in the area, has explained why she poured the soup.

“The police were acting violently so I decided to video whatever was happening when the Commander suddenly held my hand in an attempt to take the phone; I resisted and hid the phone in my panty but he wouldn’t stop and pulled the phone out from my panty,” she narrated.

The suspect, who bolted after committing the crime but was arrested at the Assin Fosu Lorry Park in an attempt to flee the area, in an interview with Adom News’ Alfred Amoh said Supt. Tetteh assaulted her family first.

“The feud, which brought the police to the area, escalated on Thursday evening and we had just returned from the farm preparing our supper when the police team barged into our house to arrest my husband’s nephew, Kwame Frimpong.

“The said Praso Commander began beating everyone in the house, slapped and kicked my little kid who was rescued by my daughter.  The police officer later pushed me and I fell beside the palm nut soup which I threw and it unfortunately landed on him,” she added.

An unidentified woman at Assin Dansame in the Assin North Municipality in the Central region has allegedly poured hot palm nut soup on the Praso Police Commander, Superintendent Isaac Tetteh during a feud in the area.

Checks by Adom News’ regional correspondent, Alfred Amoh revealed that the incident happened when the Commander and his team visited the town to mediate a feud between residents of Assin Dansame and some community workers who had visited the town.

The police, therefore, went to ensure calm and arrest the suspects but in the process, the unknown lady, who was obstructing them from carrying out their lawful duty, poured the hot soup on the police officer.

Two other policemen were also attacked in the process leaving them with various degrees of injuries.

The police, however, managed to arrest two persons who are in their custody assisting them with investigations, while there is a hunt for the woman who allegedly poured the hot soup on the officer.

Police in the area have confirmed the incident and revealed that they are currently investigating the matter and will bring the attackers, said to be involved in the violence, to book.
