He revealed that former President John Dramani Mahama handed the collation system for the 2020 elections to Felix Ofosu Kwakye and Dr Omane Boamah, former deputy Communications and Communications Ministers respectively.

According to him, the failure of the two to provide the party with a proper system led to the party’s defeat in the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

Speaking on Kasapa FM, Mr Nkansah pointed out that the NDC will remain in opposition forever should they present former President Mahama as their flagbearer in the 2024 polls.

He indicated that “If you will realize, the NDC is more than the NPP, but as the Bible has said in Hosea 4:6, that ‘lack of knowledge, my people perish.

“…and they say no one is a repository of knowledge; when you take NDC as an example, when we lost in 2016, our collation system jammed.

“In 2020, our collation system jammed again. The NDC collation system that has been broken twice was brought by Omane Boamah and Ofosu Kwakye. They are the same people who are shouting to retain JM so that they will bring the same nonsense system for us to lose again.

“For what we know about that collation, it will cause our defeat again. So, we are telling the NDC members that we should remove the person (John Mahama) who has made them (Ofosu Kwakye and Omane Boamah) powerful from office so that we bring a different person.”

Mr Mahama has already formally launched a campaign in his bid to become the flagbearer of the NDC on Thursday, March 2.

He has promised, among others, to scrap the retirement benefit given to Article 71 officeholders, known as ex-gratia.

“The payment of ex-gratia to members of the executive under Article 71 will be scrapped. And the necessary constitutional steps to abolish that payment will start in earnest in 2025.

“We will also begin the process of persuading the other arms of government other than the executive to accept the removal of this ex-gratia payment,” he said.

According to him, his government would focus on reducing the president’s powers and ensuring the separation of powers among the three arms of government: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary.

A Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah, has shed some amount of light on the decision by his party to charge flagbearer hopefuls GHC400,000 filing fee.

According to Mr Nkansah, contrary to speculations that the figure was aimed at eliminating some contestants in the race, the aim was to help the party organise a successful presidential primary.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Friday, Mr Nkansah explained that the new fee was to help mobilise funds for the elections and not a means to compromise the social democrat principles of the party.

Every aspect of democracy is expensive and this is an act to cater for the demands of the upcoming presidential primaries. Elections will be held at the constituency level hence, we must be able to mobilise enough funds to cater for all the constituencies,” he explained further.

He added that the new development is a swift move by the party’s national executives to restore the core values of the party.

NDC delegates rewarded ‘radio station stars’ – Former Executive https://www.adomonline.com/ndc-delegates-rewarded-radio-station-stars-former-executive/ Wed, 21 Nov 2018 13:02:28 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1497761 The National Democratic Congress (NDC) which hitherto was a grassroots party is losing its grip in its stronghold, a former national executive of the party has asserted.

A livid former National Communications Director, Solomon Nkansah said the party is concentrating more on communicating on radio stations instead of working at the polling stations across the country.

The failed National Organiser aspirant who was speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday said the just-ended National Delegates Congress supports his claim.

He explained that all those who won at the delegates congress are people who are always speaking on radio stations across the country.

“Now in the NDC, it is obvious you are rewarded when you speak on radio stations so everyone is jostling for that slot to the extent that some people pay producers to drop others for them,” he alleged.

This phenomenon is eating deep into the fabric of the NDC, according to Mr Nkansah who described the craze as a recipe for disaster.

The results of this, he stated will be relegating the work at the various polling stations to inexperienced people to do, all to the detriment of the party.

Solomon Nkansah who lost the National Organiser position said many of them were tagged anti-Mahama, a tag that worked against them.

His comment comes to buttress allegations that some people within the NDC are against the second coming of Mr Mahama.

These individuals are said to be the biggest losers in the elections when over 9,000 delegates converged at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre in Accra.

Likewise, a majority of those who won including the National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and other big winners are on record to have endorsed the candidature of John Mahama to lead the party in the 2020 elections.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, Solomon Nkansah said he suffered the same fate.

He said some executives who see him as a threat branded him anti-Mahama and campaigned vigorously against him at the grassroots.

Some people used John Mahama to settle personal scores but the man [Mahama] did not know,” he stated.

The former National Communications Director wondered how the party will function if former President John Mahama is not the candidate.

After over 9,000 delegates of the NDC gathered at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La, Accra to cast their vote, the former National Communications Officer garnered a paltry 306 votes.

The National Organiser position which was keenly contested was won by Joshua Akamba who polled 3,087 votes to beat his closest contenders Baba Jamal Ahmed and Yaw Boateng Gyan, who had 2,106 and 1,842 votes respectively.

Though his number of votes polled was surprising to many, Solomon Nkansah, on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday said his defeat was not shocking to him.

He said the policy will not grant every Ghanaian student access to secondary education, a situation he says his party will change in the second year of being in power.

NDC will cancel the double track system in our second year because this system which we see as shift system will only destroy the children’s education where not all students will get the chance of going to school,” he said on Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

The government has explained that the double-track system is meant to create room to accommodate all the students, reduce class size, increase contact hours and increase the number of holidays

The policy is also aimed at addressing challenges with the implementation of the free Senior High School policy.

But Solomon Nkansah who is running for the National Organizer position in the NDC says the Akufo-Addo-led administration’s inability to consult all relevant stakeholders ahead of the adoption and drafting of the policy is wrong.

Hajia Fati needs psychological help – Solomon Nkansah https://www.adomonline.com/hajia-fati-needs-psychological-help-solomon-nkansah/ Wed, 09 May 2018 10:35:58 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1104681 Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for immediate psychological examination for vicious New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Hajia Fati.

According to Solomon Nkansah, the beleaguered NPP member is suffering from “Multiple Personality Disorder” which makes her react violently at the least provocation.

Hajia Fati has incurred the wrath of media personnel after she attacked Adom FM newscaster, Charity Sekyiwaa Ahwenepa, at her party’s headquarters.

The NPP firebrand had stormed the party office ostensibly to stop suspended vice chair, Sammy Crabbe, from filing his nomination to contest the national chairmanship slot in the party’s upcoming congress.

The journalist, who was deployed to report on the happenings there, said Hajia Fati slapped her on the mouth when she attempted to take a picture of the scene being created by the woman.

Reacting to Hajia Fati’s conduct on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, Solomon Nkansah expressed worry.

He explained that the outspoken woman has,, over the years, gained notoriety for violence, adding that he is convinced she could be suffering from a psychological disorder.

“Hajia Fati needs serious psychological help because this is becoming too much. I don’t blame her because she is among violent people”, the NDC man said.

Solomon Nkansah also chided the NPP for taking too long to render an unqualified apology for Hajia Fati’s gaffe.

In a rebuttal, a communications team member of the NPP, David Prah said the party acted timely to ensure the situation does not escalate.

Going forward, he revealed, the leadership has resolved to punish any party member who assaults or infringes on the right of any media person.

“We have apologized unreservedly and we will not support Hajia Fati. Any party member who attacks any journalists will be punished”, he stated.

Our sharp teeth caused our defeat – Solomon Nkansah https://www.adomonline.com/sharp-teeth-caused-defeat-solomon-nkansah/ Mon, 28 Aug 2017 16:00:59 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=437951 Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has conceded their vile attacks on the clergy and some civil society organizations caused their defeat in the 2016 general elections.
Solomon Nkansah said they alienated Ghanaians by pampering the ‘babies with sharp teeth’, who were in the habit of hurling insults and attacks on people who criticize the erstwhile Mahama government.
The term ‘babies with sharp teeth’ was coined by the NDC founder, Jerry John Rawlings in 2012, as he urged President John Mahama to rid his government of the insolent persons who hurl insults at the public and even colleague government appointees.
Although the former President did not mention names of persons who fit this category, many linked the young ministers under the Mills government to this description.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Monday, Solomon Nkansah said the NDC shot itself in the foot when it encouraged members to attack people who criticize government.
“We failed in relationship management. The greatest component of communications is the actions and we failed” he bemoaned.
The outspoken NDC man said now in opposition, they should turn on a new leaf and win the heart of Ghanaians.
He indicated that, the NPP is just a caretaker government because the NDC will bounce massively in 2020.
Solomon Nkansah said the electorates are fed-up with the needless abuse and uncouth behavior thus NDC communicators must take a cue.

Akufo-Addo to open "cottage industry" not factories – Solomon Nkansah https://www.adomonline.com/akufo-addo-open-cottage-industry-not-factories-solomon-nkansah/ Tue, 22 Aug 2017 10:45:19 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=420781 Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah has scoffed at the much touted one district one factory campaign promise of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, the Akufo-Addo led government is rather establishing a “cottage industry” where the creation of products and services is home-based, rather than factory-based.
Solomon Nkansah’s comment comes just days before the first factory under the flagship one district, one factory policy will be launched at Ekumfi in the Central region.
The launch will include a sod-cutting to begin the construction of the Ekumfi Fruit Processing Company factory which will process pineapples for the local and international market. Currently the company cultivates the fruit and seeks to expand its operations into processing.
This will be in fulfillment of a pledge by President Akufo-Addo to see the actualization of the industrialization of Ghana as part of the transformation process he envisages for the country.

But on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Tuesday, Solomon Nkansah said the much touted policy was just to deceive Ghanaians.
According to him, the choice of Ekumfi which is the hometown of late former President John Evans Atta Mills to kick start the programme is just for political gains.
“NPP just want votes that is why they chose Ekumfi but the NDC structure is solid so they will not succeed” he added.
Solomon Nkansah who claims to be a pig farmer said he can single-handedly open 20 factories across the country.
“I can open 20 factories to rival Akufo-Addo’s cottage factory; the NPP has deceived Ghanaians” he stated.
In a quick rebuttal, NPP Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, George Mireku Duker pooh poohed Solomon Nkansah’s claims.
He said he is not surprised the NDC is panicking because the NPP has been able to fulfill its campaign promise.
Though rolling it out the one district one factory is two months late, Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP said it is better late than never.
“President Akufo-Addo is not bothered by the NDC’s noise. He is determined to make Ghana work again and will even support NDC businesses to grow”.
George Mireku Duker called on Ghanaians to ignore the NDC to support government to reduce the employment situation in the country.

It will be difficult for us in 2020 if . . . – NDC Man https://www.adomonline.com/will-difficult-us-2020-ndc-man/ Fri, 11 Aug 2017 12:36:08 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=384691 Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah says in as much as some NDC members dislike and do not agree with their party founder, John Jerry Rawlings, on some of his utterances, he is very instrumental in the party.
According to him, their ‘no nonsense leader’ must be tolerated by all if indeed the NDC wants to regain power in the next presidential elections.
Solomon Nkansah said “Rawlings is a test for the NDC to pass. If we can’t tolerate him now, then it will be difficult for us in 2020.”
“Some of his comments about NDC are hard truth which many won’t agree. If they don’t agree with him [Rawlings], they should find a better way to address that than using the media to attack him. No matter what the situation is, we need Rawlings in our party. We must respect him,” he said on Neat fm.
Former President Jerry John Rawlings has said he does not hate the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but rather dislikes acts of corruption perpetrated by some officials of the party.
In an address at the 80th Ada Asafotufiami Festival last Saturday, the former President said his unflinching stance against corruption had created the false perception among some NDC faithful that he hates the party.
He said: “When I talk, they say I don’t like NDC, no! I don’t like stealing, I don’t like disgrace so If NDC does good I will praise them if they are bad I will say it as well.
“If NPP does well, I will praise them, if they do bad I will hit them on their back”.
He also chastised three former Presidents John Kufuor, Atta Mills and John Mahama for overseeing corruption during their tenures.
“I remember when I left office, it (corruption) was prevalent during Kufuor’s tenure, during Mills tenure it continued and Mahama did same. I remember when Kufuor was leaving he did some bad things…”.
However, he commended President Akufo-Addo for placing the Presidency on the line in the fight against illegal mining.
Ex-President Rawlings has since been barraged with insults and criticisms from his own party members, with notable ones  from former Deputy Chief of Staff in Mahama’s administration, Harry Sawyerr and Obed Asamoah.
