His church premises at the Kasoa Kalabule junction was crowded with mourners majority of whom are church members and public figures.

Scenes from the event captured the multitudes clad in red and black outfits in a somber mood as memories of the late religious leader was read.

Some members were inconsolable while speaking on the impact the late pastor made in their lives.

Aside bringing them to the path of righteousness, the mourners said Rev Boakye was their support system and healed them of various ailments.

Details of his funeral are yet to be announced.

Rev Kwadwo Boakye passed away in the night of Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

He was bedridden after reportedly suffering stroke and was absent from all church activities.

The ceremony is expected to take place at the church’s premises on the Accra-Kasoa road.

The leadership of the church announced this to distraught members during a meeting in Accra.

The renowned man of God passed away on Tuesday night February 21, 2023 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

Prior to his demise, Rev. Boakye had been ill since November 2021 and his absence from the church brought about a power struggle between his wife on one had and the leadership of RPNGC on another.

The pastor while on his sick bed on multiple occasions accused his wife and her family of attempting to cause him public ridicule.

Based on this backdrop, his wife has been barred from observing the widowhood rites.

Lawyer for the founder of the Resurrection Power New Generation Ministries, Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, has debunked reports of the latter’s passing.

Social media has been rife with reports of the renowned man of God’s passing after being hospitalised for an undisclosed illness.

But the lawyer, Alexander Kwadwo Kom Abban, has indicated he is alive despite being sick.

“I can confirm he is sick but he is alive and can talk so it is not true that he is dead. I will urge all Ghanaians to disregard the death reports,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM.

Mr Abban further appealed to all and sundry to remember Reverend Boakye in their prayers for a speedy recovery.

However, he did not disclose the hospital he has been admitted to, adding the pastor will address the public at the right time if necessary.
