An order for the GNFS to pay GHC 100,000 in compensation to the affected officers has also been defied by them.

Grace Fosu and Thelma Hammond were dismissed from the Fire Service in 2014 after the Service discovered they were pregnant within the first three years of joining the service.

The GNFS claimed the ladies had contravened Regulation 33 clause six of the GNFS Conditions of Service of the GNFS.

“A female employee shall not be dismissed on the ground that she is pregnant provided she has served the first three years,” the regulation stipulates.

However, the court ordered the Fire Service to reinstate the two and compensate them with GH¢50,000 each in April.

But speaking exclusively to Adomonline.com, some GNFS who say they stand by their colleagues said almost five months after the High Court’s order, their colleagues are yet to be reinstated, let alone, compensated as directed by the court.

The officers who spoke on condition of anonymity say they are not only surprised at the conduct of their superiors but also their decision to disrespect a High Court’s order.

They have, therefore, called on the Acting Chief Fire Officer, Edward Ekow Blankson, to obey the court’s ruling.

These innocent women do not have anyone to turn to in these difficult times but to turn to you [media] to come to their aid. They have been at home for a very long time and it’s time they are reinstated,” the officers said.

Meanwhile, on behalf of their colleagues, the officers have appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Ministers of Gender, Children and Social Protection as well as the Interior Minister to fast-track the reinstatement of the two affected female officers.

VIDEO: Reinstate all Anas’ judges now – Ken tells Akufo Addo https://www.adomonline.com/audio-reinstate-all-anas-judges-now-ken-tells-akufo-addo/ Tue, 29 May 2018 13:04:42 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1137161 Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is pleading with President Akufo Addo to immediately reinstate judges who were fired or interdicted or are being prosecuted of the works of investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Tiger Eye PI.

According to Mr Agyapong, the investigative methods used by Anas are ‘evil’ and unlawful.

The MP who was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show, “Badwam” Tuesday, is therefore calling for the undercover journalist to be prevented from premiering his latest expose.

Thirty-four judges were exposed in the bribery scandal in 2016 including 22 magistrates and 12 High Court judges.

So far, about 20 of such judges have been sacked in connection with the exposé but Mr Agyapong is egging the president to reinstate them all.

The judges have previously used legal means in an attempt to clear their names rather unsuccessfully.

Mr Agyapong asserts that Anas used his position to set the judges up and therefore President Akufo Addo with the help of the current Chief Justice must reinstate the judges who fell to his ploy.

“I call on President Akufo-Addo to reinstate all the judges because the guy [Anas] enticed them. He used two boys, Ahmed and Rahman, to set the judges up. If you set people up, it is not investigative journalism … and I’ll prove to the whole Ghana that the boy is so corrupt and wicked, evil from the things he has done, bringing institutions that have been built over the years, down for him to be rich.”

“From what I’ve seen and what I know, I’m going to show the pictures… Anas is a thief because if he can set people up in Dubai, take their money and buy tablets, ship them to Ghana and refuse to pay taxes on them, for the wife to sell, you think we are stupid in this country?” he quizzed.

“They should call the Chief Justice then and ask how she contracted Anas to do what he did and look into it and ask them if what they did was fair to the judges,” he said.
