In the heartfelt post, Reggie revealed that he has not seen his children since December 25, 2022, due to circumstances he hopes they will understand as they grow older.

He expressed the pain of being unable to see or speak with his children as often as he used to but reassured them that he would continue to fulfill his responsibilities by paying their Child Maintenance Allowances, a duty instilled in him by his own parents.

Reggie also expressed how much he misses them, acknowledging that they are the only missing piece in his life.

He shared that, every post he makes online serves as a journal for his children to read when they are older.

In an emotional post he made on Facebook, he poured out his heart, shedding light on the relentless battle he has been facing just to have a relationship with his kids.

Zippy revealed that, all efforts to please his ex-wife and family just to see his children has proven futile.

He claimed his children have been barred from answering his calls and all efforts to have people mediate has proven futile.

The musician is worried his absence from his children’s life will have a negative affect on them.

“For how long should a father continue trying to re-establish his relationship with his children after the breakdown of marriage? Because at this very moment, I am very close to giving up on this unfair battle and focusing on the next chapter of my life,” his post read in part.

He said if he does not reconnect with his children by December 31, 2023, he will accept his fate and consider himself a ‘deadbeat dad’.

A livid Zippy disclosed that, since 2017, he has tried to settle amicably for the sake of their three children whom he loves dearly, but if his ex-wife is bent on making life difficult for him.

“I don’t care about anything else, all I care about is my kids. I grew up having a healthy relationship with my parents and I want same for my children” he added.

In a cheerful Instagram post, she said she was now free.

“You can’t make ppl do right by you but you can decide how often you can let them do you wrong. I filed for it, I paid for it, dealt with it in private. Today it has been granted. My freedom walk continues in truth and peace #ThankYouGod,” she wrote.

The ‘Adomaa’ crooner confirmed their divorce after 15 years of marriage in a Facebook post.

He admitted that he was an extremely irresponsible and wicked father to his three children and a toxic and abusive husband to his wife.

He apologised to his wife and children for his role in ending the marriage.

Taking to his Facebook page to announce the development, he stated that he is no longer married to his wife, Edith Ward after 15 years of marriage.

In a lengthy but detailed post, he described himself as an irresponsible and foolish father and a toxic husband to his wife.

Acknowledging his role that apparently ended the marriage he apologised to his wife and children for his actions.

His post was met with mixed reactions from his fans.

I just want to KEEP this SIMPLE and STRAIGHT to my point so kindly bare with me.

AS OF FRIDAY 11th AUGUST 2023 at 12:00noon, I AM NO LONGER A MARRIED MAN after 15 years of being extremely irresponsible and wicked towards my children and their mother and I apologise to them for my unacceptable behaviour as a VERY FOOLISH FATHER AND HUSBAND, It was all my fault, I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER INSTEAD OF CARING FOR MY CHILDREN OR FAMILY. GOING FORWARD

Reggy, who is not handling the loss very well, has asked his followers not to be surprised or sad when they hear him dead.

The reason being that he would then be enjoying the company of his mother who he believes is waiting for him in Heaven.

After writing two songs and many tributes for his mother, Auntie Ceccy, Reggie still feels he needs to do more to feel his mother’s presence.

Ghanaians have in turn sent him comforting words to ease his pain and many have advised him against taking any drastic action for the sake of his wife and two children.

Reggie, who is an only son, became shattered after hearing the death of his mother, Madam Cecilia Koomsom on Sunday, August 29.

In a post shortly after the demise, he first hinted of “joining his mother wherever she is”, making the latest utterance the second of such.

Madam Cecilia Koomson is said to have passed on on Sunday, August 29. The cause of death is yet to be established.

Reggie Zippy, who made the announcement on his social media pages, got fans alarmed with a shocking post he made afterwards.

As lost, shocked and confused as he updated that he is, Reggie added that he is planning on joining his mother wherever she is.

“You don’t know pain until you lose your beloved mother. I am lost, confused and shocked. Ceccy, I am coming to join you wherever you are, this is not what we planned. WE LIVE TOGETHER, WE DIE TOGETHER. Only Mum, Only Son, PERIOD!!??. Don’t rest yet cuz I am coming home. GOD MADE A MISTAKE YESTERDAY,” he said.

Reggie also posted a video of the fun time he had with his mother when she was very active and so full of life.

They were singing and dancing to one of Adane Best’s Ga songs amid hugs and laughter.

Fans and celebrities have expressed their condolences and urged him to be strong in this trying period.

According to him, musicians will continue to die broke when they upload their sweat-earned works for free downloads whiles artistes in other parts of the world have digital algorithms or systems that aid them to make profits.

“Any Ghanaian artiste who died as a pauper isn’t because they weren’t serious. It’s because the industry didn’t put the process the right way,” he told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

The reason Nigerian acts are soaring in the international showbiz industry is that “they have booking agents who take care of their songs abroad,” Reggie added.

He stressed that A-list musicians in Ghana who travel outside for gigs will continue to do the “community or one-man shows” unless Ghana’s Creative Arts Council emulates the western music industry.

“It still baffles me that we [Ghanaian musicians] make music and put them up for free [downloads]; it’s not done. Up till now, Ghana hasn’t got Spotify Streaming Service. The Nigerians will continue to be richer because they are plugged internationally,” he told Andy Dosty.

Reggie said he was on the verge of getting then tourism minister, Hon Catherine Afeku to buy into some of the contemporary best practices but her reshuffle scuttled every effort.

“Until the top men recognise how important this initiative is, we won’t get anywhere because we are not plugged in the worldwide system. Musicians will blow for like three years and we wouldn’t hear from them anymore,” Reggie added.
