Rihanna captivated the audience by announcing her third pregnancy while wearing a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble, seamlessly blending personal revelation with fashion.

Nicki Minaj made a striking appearance in a custom Thom Browne ensemble. The outfit featured a pinstriped suit-dress with an exaggerated silhouette, complemented by a dramatic floral shoulder piece.

Her unconventional choice stood out amid a sea of glamorous gowns, long trains, and sparkling details, adding a refreshing contrast to the night’s high-fashion moments.

Meanwhile, Chappell Roan turned heads with an exaggerated bubble dress crafted from upcycled materials.

Resembling a wearable art installation, her outfit made a bold statement about sustainability in the fashion industry while captivating both fans and photographers.

Jaden Smith, known for his unconventional style, stepped onto the red carpet in a black suit paired with a hat shaped like a miniature house.

His eccentric look quickly sparked conversations online, with many applauding his creative embrace of wearable art.

Equally bold, Julia Fox turned heads in a sheer black mesh dress paired with a bra and panties, staying true to her reputation for edgy and provocative fashion.

Known for her daring style, Fox also made waves as the ex-wife of Kanye West, adding another layer of intrigue to her presence on the red carpet.

In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Darko, the founder of the Nineteen57 fashion company, told Kwame Dadzie that he felt the red-carpet outfits were disappointing.

He pointed out that other African events, such as those in South Africa and Nigeria, set a higher standard for red-carpet events.

“For me, for the performers on the night, everyone brought their A-game. It was the red carpet that sucked.

“If we watch what happens out there, continentally, let me even come back to the African continent, events that take place in South Africa, Nigeria and what have you, we see [better stuff]. Chale, don’t complicate things, especially for the brothers. Just wear a simple black suit and accentuate it with a bit of colour. Since the event is red-themed, maybe with red. In people’s quest to outdo themselves they actually under-do themselves,” he commented.

KOD emphasized that with so much inspiration available, there was no need to “reinvent the wheel”.

As a former host of the awards, he commended the hosts for the night.

He noted that the presenters were experienced, with Naa Ashorkor having hosted several times before and Chris making a return to live show hosting.

“I think we had timeless people who were not on the stage for the first time. Naa Ashorkor has done this maybe three times. Chris took a break off hosting live shows. I was looking forward to seeing him. On a scale of 0-10 I will give Chris maybe like 7. They only place I didn’t seem to get was their intro. They had a bit of a shaky intro but they picked up,” he said.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards, organized by Charterhouse took place on June 1, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Center.

Stonebwoy won the Artiste of the Year award, among other honours. Other notable winners included Strongman, King Paluta, Olivetheboy, Nacee, Amerado, Kofi Kinaata, Kuami Eugene, Kofi Karikari, and Queendalyn.

A Ukrainian model says she has filed a legal complaint against organisers of the Cannes Film Festival after alleging she was assaulted by a security guard on the red carpet.

Sawa Pontyjska was one of several guests who were filmed being challenged by the same steward at the prestigious French event.

Singer Kelly Rowland also complained, while footage of the guard with South Korean actress Yoona and Dominican actress Massiel Taveras also went viral.

The event, which is also the sixth edition, has been scheduled for September 10 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

The event will celebrate and recognise the efforts of women who have stood out in their respective fields of endeavours in the year under review.

Chief Executive Officer of ASKOF Productions, organizers of the event, Mrs Afua Asantewaa Aduonum said Asiedua’s eloquence and composure make her fit for the role.

She will welcome and interact with guests who will come from far and near to celebrate the achievements and success of Ghanaian women in various disciplines.

Ghanaian entertainer Edem was spotted gracefully on the red carpet of the 65th edition of Grammys.

Sam Smith and their colour-coordinated entourage, including Unholy collaborator Kim Petras, turned heads ahead of the main ceremony – where they put on a firey musical display.

Taylor Swift sparkled on arrival wearing a sequinned blue gown, while also showing off her midriff.

The star picked up four nominations ahead of this year’s event, including song of the year for the expanded, re-recorded version of All Too Well, but missed out on the award once again.

Harry Styles had his inkwork on display as he arrived in stylish patterned dungarees.

The northern Englishman took home the night’s big prize for best album for Harry’s House.

“This doesn’t happen to people like me very often, and this is so nice,” he said onstage.

Styles graced the Grammys performance stage on Sunday night, as did R ‘n’ B icon Mary J Blige, who was also nominated for several big awards.

Rap stars Cardi B and Offset stepped out in their finest glad rags.

Brandi Carlile was up for many of the night’s biggest honours, including album and record of the year.

Collecting an early award for best rock performance, the suited and booted singer-songwriter noted how she had succeeded by rejecting her mother’s advice.

“Mom, I gotta thank you for telling me to stop singing so angry, because I obviously ignored that like I ignored everything you ever told me to do,” she said with a smile.

“But I cut my hair, I learned how to scream, and I just won a Grammy for a rock and roll song that I wrote with all my heart.”

Bebe Rexha was nominated for best dance/electronic recording for her David Guetta collaboration I’m Good (Blue). Despite that, she wore this pink, plunging gown on the red carpet.

It was all white on the night for Shaggy, who was nominated for best reggae album for Com Fly Wid Mi – a collection of Sting-produced Frank Sinatra covers.

Leather-clad Doja Cat was nominated for a handful of awards including record of the year for Woman.

Singer and songwriter Anitta said she was “making history” as the first Brazilian artist to be nominated for best new artist at the Grammys in nearly half a century.

Speaking to journalists on the red carpet, she said: “My whole country is watching and Brazil is waiting for this. For me, the victory is to be here tonight, to be honest.”

Elvis Costello’s album The Boy Named If was nominated for best rock album and, like all self-respecting rock stars, he wore sunglasses indoors.

Mick Fleetwood’s outfit was accessorised with a pair of dangling metallic balls – a nod to the cover of his band’s classic album Rumours.

He is there to pay tribute to his late bandmate Christine McVie.

Five-time Grammy winner Shania Twain’s hair matched the red carpet at she arrived in a “fun” polka dot suit and towering hat by British-American fashion designer Harris Reed.

Twain collected the award for best country album on behalf of winner Willie Nelson.

“I am here to represent country music and I am excited,” she said beforehand.

Rap legend LL Cool J introduced a segment marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

“It feels like yesterday I was just a little kid in the basement listening to Cold Crush tapes and now here we are all these years later on, on the biggest stage in the world in hundreds of countries around the world, presenting hip hop the way I think it should be seen by the masses,” he reflected before the show.

Adding: “For a long time hip hop has been served in a brown greasy paper bag but tonight we’re going to serve it on a silver platter, so it feels good.”

Pharrell Williams looked happy to be there, rocking up in a fur coat over the top of a matching red jacket and trousers combo.

Italian Eurovision winners Maneskin looked sharp but missed out on the best new artist award, which ultimately went to Samara Joy.

The same can be said for DJ Khaled, who was nominated for song of the year for his track God Did, losing out to Bonnie Raitt.

Though he did get to perform the track on stage alongside collaborators such as Jay-Z, John Legend and Lil Wayne.

Tracey was one of the thousands of invited guests who attended the 9-day programme in France, for the 75th edition of the award scheme.

The self-acclaimed millionaire rocked a custom-made outfit by a Ghanaian designer and complimented it with a blonde wig.

She was captured in a sparkly creamy gown as she took center stage of the carpet.

Cannes Festival is an annual film festival that previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022 definitely not lack spectacular red carpet moments.

Ghanaian celebrities on Friday and Saturday graced the red carpet with some great outfits.

The 2020 edition has been segmented into three days which started from Friday, August 28 and will run through Saturday, August 29 and finally climax on Sunday, August 30, 2020.

Though the biggest aim of the night was to present awards to deserving artistes, the event, as usual, began with the glam from the red carpet.

As expected, many celebrities, who made it to the virtual show due to the coronavirus pandemic, made various fashion statements with their appearance on the Red Carpet.

Each year there are best-dressed and worst-dressed celebrities at the VGMA and this year was no different.

The event saw dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, taking home five awards, the highest number of awards won by an artiste on the night followed by Sarkodie, who came through with three.

The 2019 4Syte Music Video Awards has been dubbed the most exciting edition in the last five years.

With over 20 categories, this year’s event honoured artistes, directors and key industry players in Ghana and across Africa.

However, it seems patrons did not only come to the event to watch and have fun but to also show off some of the best outfits from their closets.
