Speaking on TV3’s New Day show on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, the popular actress revealed that she has spent nearly GH₵500,000 on medical treatment in recent months alone.

“If I should tell you the money I’ve spent on this hand, it’s almost GH₵500,000 since May till now. And remember, it’s not just the money—the pain, the stress, the emotional trauma. You need to go through it yourself because you can’t rely on people,” she said.

McBrown, who was involved in a car crash in January 2013, explained that her recovery has required intensive physiotherapy, including early morning sessions at the 37 Military Hospital and continued therapy at home. She noted that she worked on her arm daily using stimulation machines she was trained to operate as part of her rehabilitation.

Despite the challenges, the actress expressed gratitude for her progress, revealing that she has undergone a total of five surgeries.

“This was my fifth and final surgery,” she said, adding that she no longer feels the pain and is thankful to God for her recovery.

McBrown also emphasised that while support from family and friends is valuable, the healing process is ultimately a deeply personal journey.

Invited to cover the festivities, particularly the Dormaahene’s ceremonial rites, Kofi was filming when a sudden gunshot shattered the jubilant atmosphere.

A royal guard, taking part in the traditional musketry display, mistakenly fired his weapon towards Kofi instead of into the sky.

The gunpowder blast struck Kofi squarely in the face, severely injuring his eyes. The crowd was stunned as he cried out in pain, his vision immediately compromised.

Emergency medical care was swiftly administered, and Kofi was rushed to the hospital. The severity of his injuries became clear as he temporarily lost sight in both eyes.

His wife, Miracle Adoma, later spoke emotionally about the terrifying ordeal and the uncertainty surrounding her husband’s condition.

Due to the complexity of his injuries, Kofi was flown to Dubai for advanced medical treatment. Thankfully, doctors were able to restore vision in one of his eyes, marking a crucial step in his recovery.

In recent weeks, Kofi has been sharing glimpses of his healing process. A new video posted online shows him enjoying the serenity of nature, a symbolic moment of peace and resilience. Prof Bokpin questions government’s claims of recovery amidst growing hardships https://www.adomonline.com/prof-bokpin-questions-governments-claims-of-recovery-amidst-growing-hardships/ Wed, 31 Jul 2024 13:02:01 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2428012 A finance and economics expert at the University of Ghana, Professor Godfred Bokpin, has questioned the government over the real magnitude and impact of the supposed economic recovery.

According to him, the current economy has disproportionately affected the middle class, significantly reducing their purchasing power.

He further highlighted the widening economic disparity accompanying the country’s growth.

“The development we’ve seen from 2021 has actually impacted the middle class more and has dwarfed our purchasing power. If you measure 2017 purchasing power to this year there’s been an enormous difference. So a lot of upper and lower middle class are sliding down,” he said.

His statement comes after the government’s repeated claims of economic recovery.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Prof Bokpin noted that despite the optimistic reports of economic growth and recovery, the reality for many Ghanaians is starkly different.

He emphasised that the recovery has been costly and uneven, leaving millions of citizens behind.

“So even now that we are talking about economic growth and recovery, you can see it is costly. It is a recovery that has left millions of Ghanaians behind,” he noted.

Prof Bokpin further referred to the 2022 World Bank Report, which revealed that inflation had driven over 850,000 Ghanaians into extreme poverty.

“So the question is this [economic] recovery we are celebrating, has it lifted those people out of extreme poverty?” he quizzed.

Your complete guide to C-section recovery https://www.adomonline.com/your-complete-guide-to-c-section-recovery/ Mon, 15 Jun 2020 07:52:15 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1811314 Have you recently had a C-section? Are you planning to have a C-section? I had a C-section for my first and let’s just say these are the things that worked for Me.

Many mums experience a wide range of emotions after a C-section, so it’s hard to predict how you’ll feel.

A common emotion in these parts is a disappointment, especially when you had your heart set on vaginal birth.

Please let these emotions go! Your baby is here, healthy and happy. Hope you find this guide useful, here it goes:

1. Help

Accept it in whatever form it comes to mums. It’s easy to overestimate your capabilities but you’ve just had a major operation and you will need help.

For the first 2-3 days however as the anaesthetic and pain relief wears off you will need help moving around, feeding baby, preparing meals and perhaps looking after other kids if you have them. Please take advantage of the help because very soon the offers will start to dwindle.

2. Pain control

Again it’s ok to take analgesia if you need it, paracetamol and Ibuprofen are safe within normal limits even if you’re breastfeeding so please use them if you need it.

3. Rest

Your body has just carried and birthed a whole human being! Pat yourself on the back, rest, bond with your baby and recuperate.

You also need to take it easy as you will have a c-section would that needs rest to heal.

4. Exercise

Sounds like I’m contradicting myself but I’m not asking you to become a couch potato! You need to try to move around indoors and stretch your legs.

You can start by doing very light walking as your body allows and build up slowly.

The risk of blood clots in the legs is increased post-surgery and the one thing you can do to help this besides the use of prescribed blood thinners is to exercise your limbs to keep blood moving.

5. Breastfeeding

You can definitely breastfeed after a C-section! Just remember to get help with moving baby if you need to!

It’s important for your mental well being too, recovery can be isolating when other people are busy and you’re resting.

Take the time to get to know your little one!

6. Wound care

Your scar needs to be kept clean and dry, even when you take showers or baths try to keep the area dry.

Also, monitor your scar site for worsening pain, bleeding, discharge, discoloration or any worrying features. If any of these occur, see your doctor immediately for a review.

7. Answering the call of nature

Going for a wee or poo has never been so complicated lol! These might be tricky initially due to pain but as the pain settles will gradually become easy.

Remember to look out for symptoms of urine infection and constipation as these can occur commonly after a c-section.Your complete guide to C-section recovery - Source: Healthline.comYour complete guide to C-section recovery – Source: Healthline.com

8. Pelvic floor exercises

These are very important post-delivery. Our pelvic floor becomes weak post-pregnancy and we need to exercise the muscles to improve strength and support for all our pelvic organs.

Pelvic floor exercises are important to prevent pelvic organ prolapse in the future.

9. Postnatal check

Whether or not you feel you’ve recovered a postnatal check is very important post-delivery. It is usually scheduled 6-8 weeks after delivery and usually involves an entire body systems review for the new mum and in some cases baby as well.

In this appointment, you will discuss scar healing, how feeding baby is going, mental health, contraception, etc

10. Sex

While this might be far from your mind if you’ve been given the all-clear from the doctor decided on contraception and you’re feeling up to it you can broach sexual intimacy.

Remember you can still be intimate without sex and recovering from a c-section is not an excuse for you not to show affection or receive affection from your spouse.

Remember the guide above is what worked for me, we are all different but my key points are rest, exercise a little, bond with your little munchkin and accept all the help you can get, you’ll need it!

Man shares how he survived stroke [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/man-shares-how-he-survived-stroke-video/ Sat, 14 Mar 2020 10:25:17 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1764298 Before my stroke, I was an active and energetic man with a big social life and my health had never been an issue before, says a 71-year-old stroke survivor.

According to Mr Samuel Sedodo, his stroke, which he had been battling with over the past 12 years, started only as a mere headache.

“It has not been easy for me these past years, I lost everything; my job, my marriage and could not even attend to my own basic needs,” he said.

Narrating his recovery story on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Friday, Mr Sedodo explained the last thing he could remember was his admission at the hospital.

“I felt numb after I woke up from bed one day and that was how my frustration started because I became a burden on the family after losing all my money to the treatment but I am glad there has been an improvement through the Stroke Support Association,” he expressed his excitement.

He urged other stroke patients not to give up yet despite the frustrations it comes with because it is curable, adding that the government must support the association to enable them embark on more outreach programmes.

“Stroke is curable and I am a testimony to that; once you are diagnosed early and you follow your medications as prescribed, you will survive it,” he assured.
