In the first-leg encounter at the Stade de Kégué, rising star Priscilla Mensah opened the scoring in the 16th minute, capping off a slick attacking move to hand Ghana an early lead.

The teenage forward maintained her fine form after the break, doubling the advantage in the 64th minute with a clinical finish following another incisive team move.

Mensah’s brace secured a vital away victory for Ghana, placing the Black Maidens firmly in control of the tie ahead of the return leg.

With the upper hand established, the focus now shifts to the second leg, set for the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, April 18.

The Black Maidens will be aiming to complete the job on home soil and book their place in the next round of the U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
