Over 10 people are in critical condition after a tipper car with registration number GT 4578-21 collided with a Toyota Fish with registration number Gr 5752-22 at Mustapha Plus near Potsin Junction on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway.

The victims of the accident which occurred on Saturday evening are receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

In an interview with Adom News, an eyewitness, Matthew Mensah, who helped to remove the victims from the car, said the driver who caused the accident fled the scene.

Matthew said after making a wrongful overtaking, the tipper driver lost control and collided with the Toyota which had passengers onboard from Takoradi to Accra.

Over 10 passengers are in critical condition while eleven others sustained various degrees of injuries after a sprinter bus lost its balance.

According to information, the sprinter benz bus with registration number GN 3680-14 burst its back tyre which made the bus veer off its lane and somersaulted twice before landing in some bushes.

One of the passengers in the car, who identified himself as Pastor Isaac Afful, was fortunate to have survived with minor injuries.

He told Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei that the accident was a mechanical fault, and he hailed the driver for the bravery in controlling the car despite the misfortune.

Pastor Afful added that the driver made the best decision to head the car into the bushes, else they would have collided with a faulty trailer parked in the middle of the road.

The Ghana Ambulance Service and police service arrived at the scene and administered first aid treatment to the injured.

The over 10 persons, who were critically injured, were transported to the Winneba Hospital. No death has been recorded.

13 injured in crash involving military vehicle [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/13-injured-in-crash-involving-military-vehicle/ Thu, 20 May 2021 10:41:06 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1961823 At least 13 persons on board a Toyota commercial vehicle with the registration number CR 1277-21 have sustained severe injuries after a military vehicle crashed into it.

Reports indicate the accident occurred about 200 meters away from the Potsin Junction on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

The accident is said to have happened after the speeding driver of the military vehicle overtook some cars ahead of it.

An eyewitness identified as Farid Adamu told Adom News that they were travelling from Mankessim to Kaneshie but their driver parked to change a flat tyre near the scene.

“The military vehicle was travelling towards Winneba on top speed and honking so most of the cars had to make way for it but unfortunately, it hit the back of the Toyota which was in front of it.

“The driver lost control and hit a high tension electricity pole during which the door came off and his mate fell and finally crashed into a storey building,” he narrated.

Mr Adamu further revealed the military vehicle fled the scene without any attention to the victims.

Another eyewitness, James Allotey, who works at a nearby block factory said some of the workers could have lost their lives in the ghastly incident.

Meanwhile, the victims have been rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.
