Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Thursday, he said the family presented him with a piece of the late politician’s cloth from 16 years ago.

According to Mr Frimpong, the gesture symbolizes the family’s blessing for him to carry on Mr Wiredu’s legacy.

“When it comes to politics in our constituency, we can never exclude the late Kwadwo Baah Wiredu. His legacy still lives on. Everyone has noticed that the way people act and move in the area is similar to how he did. Some even describe me as his reincarnation.

“His family honoured and blessed me with a piece of his cloth from 16 years ago to continue in his ways. I believe that when you get a name, it has a spiritual attachment to it,” he shared.

Late Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, who served as a Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North from 1997 until his death in 2008, was known for his dedication to public service, holding key ministerial positions under the Kufuor administration.

Mr Frimpong believes that this honour is an endorsement of his commitment to serve the people of Asante Akyem North with the same spirit of selflessness and dedication that defined late Baah Wiredu’s political career.

2024 polls: I have no ties with NDC – Asante Akyem North independent PC https://www.adomonline.com/2024-polls-i-have-no-ties-with-ndc-asante-akyem-north-independent-pc/ Wed, 09 Oct 2024 16:04:43 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2458688 An independent parliamentary candidate in the Asante Akyem North Constituency, Ohene Kwame Frimpong has debunked claims that National Democratic Congress (NDC) is behind his bid.

Mr Frimpong said he is a full-fledged member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and has never been a card-bearing member of the NDC.

He disclosed this in an interview with Adom News, stating there is no iota of truth in the allegations leveled against him.

According to Mr. Frimpong, he has invested and supported the NPP as a delegate and executive of the Manchester UK Chapter.

“In 2016, I printed over 100,000 stickers and presented power banks to support President Akufo-Addo. I also donated a campaign vehicle to support the sitting NPP Member of Parliament in Asante Akyem North,” he said.

In this regard, Mr Frimpong said he finds it hard to believe why anyone will assume the NDC is pushing him to go independent.

He added that, his decision to contest as an independent candidate is informed by constituents call for change.
