The cars are a Sprinter bus with registration number GN 4303-22 which had 22 passengers onboard and a private car with registration number AC 845-21 also with three persons in it.

The accident occurred on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Speaking to Adom News, an eyewitness said the Sprinter was travelling to Kumasi from Bogoso.

The private car driver who had parked on a section of the road veered into the Sprinter driver’s lane, leading to the accident.

The witness said the occupants of the private car were rushed to the hospital in another vehicle for treatment.

He added that one among the three was seriously injured on the head.

The Sprinter bus passengers, who sustained minor injuries, joined a different car and continued with their journey.

The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, July 23, 2021.

The journalists were part of a convoy of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, during the second day of his inspection of projects in the region when a private vehicle rammed into their bus.

On Thursday, the team toured KATH’s Mother and Baby Unit and the Kumasi Airport to assess the progress of work.

The team was in Obuasi on Friday to inspect some road construction works and was returning to Kumasi to assess work on Kumasi roads when the accident occurred.

They have since been given medical forms by the police and are currently at KATH for treatment.

The accident reportedly occurred at about 10:00am on Friday, July 16, 2021, in a head-on collision.

The accident involved a Toyota Tundra with registration number AS 4275 -21 and a Toyota Corolla taxi with number GX 1910 -13 and a Sprinter bus.

The Tundra, according to witnesses, was traveling from Obuasi to Kumasi while the taxi with passengers on board was from Adenkranya to Jacobu.

The taxi is said to have dropped off some passengers at the scene shortly before the accident.

“Other cars were parked on the road so the taxi driver didn’t see the oncoming vehicle and collided with the Tundra,” a witness told Adom News‘ Isaac Normanyo.

The taxi driver and one passenger are said to have died on the spot with two others from the Sprinter bus.

The bodies have been deposited at the morgue.

The injured are also currently receiving treatment at the Atobiase Clinic and Jacobu Hospital.
