To the National Democratic Congress former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon constituency, who was so sure the scholarships were meant for brilliant but needy students, he was surprised his request was turned down.

To make matters worse, Mr Namoale said the rejection letter was re-addressed to him instead of the main applicant.

Commenting on the award of scholarships to politicians and other influential people in Ghana as indicated in the Auditor-General’s performance report, he urged the individuals mentioned to refund the monies.

Mr Namoale stressed there were more deserving applicants at the time the politicians were awarded the scholarships, hence a refund is the only solution to put the case to rest.

A former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Nii Amassah Namoale, has said the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Asigri, wasn’t qualified for his position at the NYA.

According to Mr Namoale, suspended CEO didn’t resign because of the alleged procurement breaches but because he did not have the requisite academic qualification for that position he occupied.

Speaking on Accra-based Accra FM, the former Deputy Minister alleged that Mr Asigri did not have the minimum requirement for the position which was the first degree.

“Asigri was not even qualified for the job in the first place.  He is just an HND holder. A lot of people enter into politics and they portray themselves as having attended school here and there and attained this degree or that degree, yet they don’t have those qualifications,” he noted.

“People pretend to have degrees when they don’t actually have, and I will appeal to the political parties to be wary of that,” he said

Mr Asigri resigned from post a few days after a member of the Authority’s Board, Mr Arnold Boateng resigned over what he described at the time as “real issues” at the Authority.

It is unclear at this stage what the real reason for the resignation is although reports suggest that the NYA CEO was forced to resign over alleged procurement breaches.

GHC 400,000.00 filing fee: NDC selling party to aspirants – Nii Namoale https://www.adomonline.com/ghc-400000-00-filing-fee-ndc-selling-party-to-aspirants-nii-namaole/ Fri, 30 Nov 2018 14:02:30 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1514611 The former Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon constituency, Nii-Amasah Namoale, has described the decision by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to chargeGHC400,000.00 filing fee as outrageous.

The NDC has announced that it would charge GHC 20,000.00 for nomination forms for the flagbearership race and GHC400,000.00 as a filing fee.

The decision appears to have irked Mr Namoale who said it was a means of selling the party to aspirants.

“This is wrong and clearly shows we are selling the party to the highest bidder which is not supposed to be so,” he said.

“We are social democrats and are expected to do things that will get the ordinary Ghanaian to join the party but this shows civil servants cannot be a part of our race because his or her entire pension savings cannot sum up to this amount [sic],” he explained.

However, the deputy General Secretary, Barbara Asamoah, in the same interview objected to the assertion of Mr Namoale, attributing the High filing rate to economic hardships.

“Times have changed and things have become very expensive so we have to make room for the change. The candidates have to be resourceful and have the capability to carry us into victory 2020” she opined.

“If you can’t raise GHC400,000.00 as a nomination fee to help organise successful primaries, then it is obvious you can’t help the party and can’t help yourself to run the 2020 campaign. Elections in Ghana are all about money and you need to prepare to meet the standard,” she added.

The NEC of the NDC, after a meeting on Thursday, agreed to the GH¢400,000 non-refundable filing fee for flag bearer aspirants of the party and GH¢ 20,000 non-refundable nomination form fee with the election set for January 19, 2019.

AUDIO: Fix falling cedi if you are a wizkid -Namoale dares Bawumia https://www.adomonline.com/audio-fix-falling-cedi-if-indeed-youre-economic-messiah-namoale-dares-bawumia/ Tue, 11 Sep 2018 18:08:11 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1323191

A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon has dared vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to prove his competence by saving the cedi from further fall against major trading currencies.

Nii Amasah Namoale said it is obvious the former deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana is no economic wizkid.

The Ghana cedi, which depreciated against the US dollar by 3 to 4 per cent has shot up the cost of doing business in the country.

Between May and June this year, the local currency has experienced a 0.7 per cent depreciation and now sells at GHS4.44 to $1.

The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry is warning of a severe crisis in the private sector should the government fail in dealing with the fall of the Ghana cedi against major currencies.

Government has assured it is putting in place prudent measures to arrest the local currency.

Nii Amasah Namoale

Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Tuesday, Nii Amasah Namoale said the cedi has exposed Dr. Bawumia who bragged about being an economic wizkid.

He cited how the vice president accused the Mahama government of being incompetent when the cedi depreciated against the dollar but it is rather worse under his watch.

“Bawumia was the same person who accused the NDC of messing up the economy and even accused us of allowing the cedi to fall. Now it’s time for him to arrest the cedi” the former MP scoffed.

Nii-Amassah Namoale changed his profile picture on Facebook yesterday and replaced it with a family photo.

However, the picture has courted for him some insults from some followers and users of Facebook who think the picture does not speak well of the former Member of Parliament who has shown interest in Ghana’s presidency.

In the picture, the former MP is seen with his family. Nii is seen fondling the breast of hs wife while he smiles to show the ‘anointing’ that he has received from his wife’s boobs.

One of his followers, Michael Ohene commented: “Honourable the pic is nice but where you placed your right hand doesn’t speek well of you at all….. pls remove this pic ryt now!!!” [sic].

However, Namoale who has declared his intention to contest for the Presidency on the ticket of the NDC in 2020 says he feels no shame and refused to pull down the picture.

“She my wife and I don’t feel ashame at all. I love her I have paid for where my hand is 26 years ago,” [sic] Namoale said in response.

The former MP also garnered some support from his followers who suggested that the position of his hand was not intentional.

Mr Namoale later admitted that his pose in the photograph was not intentional.

Namoale lost the La Dadekotopon Parliamentary seat after serving three terms to the New Patriotic Party’s Vincent Sowah Odotei during the 2016 elections in December.

He polled 38,504 compared to Mr Odotei’s 40,126 votes.
