In his post, he wrote: “Boomplay pay us our Royalties before you close down the Ghana office on Friday!!”

Speaking to myjoyonline.com Kofi Donkor indicated that his artiste has not received any royalties from Boomplay for over a year now.

“They have not paid years for more than a year. And I hear they are even planning on shutting down their office in Ghana. We need to take our monies now,” he said.

Meanwhile, myjoyonline.com’s investigations indicate that Boomplay doesn’t have agreements with artistes directly. Rather, it has agreements with distribution platforms and distributors for the songs that are submitted on the platform.

This means royalty payments are made to distributors who in turn pay artistes based on their percentage share agreements.

Our findings further prove that there have been some challenges with some distributors and distribution platforms, a reason for the non payment of some royalties.

Ours sources establish that some licensing agreements with some platforms have ended and that there have been a confusion over agreeing to new licensing agreements which are still being discussed.

Celestine Donkor is not the only artiste who finds herself in this situation. Royalties of other artistes such as Kofi Sarpong, Okyeame Kwame, Sista Afia, Tinny, King Paluta, Sista Afia, Epixode who have signed on to Boomplay have not been paid.

The manager confirmed receiving an email from the Guinness World Records (GWR) verifying the record.

Amid circulating doubts about the legitimacy of Chef Smith’s new achievement and the authenticity of the certificate, his manager clarified the situation in an interview on Hitz FM.

He explained that GWR has two types of applications for record verification: regular and premium. Chef Smith applied for the regular option.

“Under the regular application, GWR does not make an immediate public announcement. Instead, they send a confirmation directly to the applicant’s email,” the manager stated. “We have received this confirmation email from GWR.”

The manager assured the public that the record is genuine and urged anyone with doubts to authenticate the record directly with GWR.

It is worthy to note that the record and attempter, Chef Smith is not yet listed on GWR’s official site, casting further doubts whether he applied in the first place.

The current record holder, per GWR’s official website remains Alan Fisher with a record time of 119 hours, 57 minutes and 16 seconds.

Further updates are expected as GWR publishes the official record on their site.

This is contrary to the account rendered by the Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Peter Twumasi to the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Monday, February 5, 2024.

The NSA boss claimed Stonebwoy paid GH₵70,000.

But in an interview on Hitz FM, Chief Abiola said the amount that was quoted was incorrect.

“I was delegated by Stonebwoy to lead the negotiations and payment of the stadium. I can also tell you for a fact that yes we paid more than GH₵70,000 for the stadium” he stated.

This disclosure by Chief Abiola comes after Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George paid GH₵169,000 and not GH₵70,000 as the NSA boss claimed.

Meanwhile, the NSA is yet to set the records straight on the allegations by Sam George.

Gyakie was traumatised by manager’s altercation with AfroNation security – George Britton  https://www.adomonline.com/gyakie-was-traumatised-by-managers-altercation-with-afronation-security-george-britton/ Fri, 30 Jun 2023 16:39:09 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2266896 The manager of Camidoh, George Mensah Britton, has disclosed how Gyakie was affected by a scuffle that ensued between her manager and the security at the ongoing AfroNation festival in Portugal.

In a recent interview on Hitz FM, George Britton told Doreen Avio that Gyakie got worried by the incident, especially after seeing the information on social media.

“I mean she was just traumised about what happened and how it was flying online. It looked more negative than it probably appeared. That was why I had to take it off,” he said.

Asked if Gyakie’s manager, Electro Mirror was hurt during the altercation, George said Mirror instantly felt uncomfortable, a reason he was taken into the ambulance.

During the 29th June, 2023 edition of the AfroNation festival in Portugal, Gyakie’s manager Mirror was involved in a fracas with the security.

A video which went viral on social media captures the moment her manager was manhandled by some uniformed security personnel to the horror of onlookers.

The video which was shared by George Britton, has George’s panicky voice in the background, reproaching the security personnel for their act.

Mirror could be seen pinned down to the floor while the security men numbering about five had him in a chokehold as he gasped for air.

George Britton, giving a eye witness account of the incident on Hitz FM said while the VVIP and the artistes were on the upper terrace, they were told Gyakyie was at the entrance.

He said because they could not find the lady, there were led by someone else to go look for Gyakie.

Sarkodie drove me to the clinic with his manager for the ‘abortion’ and left – Yvonne Nelson alleges in her book https://www.adomonline.com/sarkodie-drove-me-to-the-clinic-with-his-manager-for-the-abortion-and-left-yvonne-nelson-alleges-in-her-book/ Mon, 19 Jun 2023 14:39:48 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2261986 Actress Yvonne Nelson, in her explosive book, I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, revealed that she allegedly got pregnant for award-winning rapper, Sarkodie, however, she had to abort the baby because they both weren’t ready.

In the chapter of the book titled “Abortion,” Yvonne recounts the moment she found out she was pregnant, and the decisions she and Sarkodie made hereafter.

In the book which was launched on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the Peduase Lodge, Yvonne narrates that she tried to terminate the pregnancy by taking a concoction from a friend.

“On an ordinary day, I would have laughed out loud and that would trigger a string of jolly conversations and jokes. But this was no laughing matter. It was a grim piece of information that was capable of turning my world upside down. I wasn’t the only one responsible for the situation, so I called the man whose potent seed had germinated in me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie,” she further states in the book.

According to the actress, “Sarkodie was a budding musician with the potential to become one of the biggest artistes in Ghana and beyond. At the time, however, the future looked uncertain and his way through the maze of life still appeared too foggy to predict. Success was not guaranteed. He was still living with his mother and was not ready to carry a burden while he was being carried by his mother.”

According to Yvonne, when she found out she was pregnant, she tried to abort it by herself, but it didn’t work.

On her second attempt at aborting the baby, Yvonne reveals it was Sarkodie himself who drove her to the hospital to get it done.

“Keeping the pregnancy was not an option. Undertaking another self-medication was also not an option. I agreed with Sarkodie that, this time, we had to do it in a hospital or health facility. Again, that friend of mine had a recommendation. It was a facility in Mamprobi, and the appointed day, Sarkodie drove me there with his manager and they left.

“I hoped and prayed that I will be lucky with this second attempt. The pain, again was intense and I bled profusely. I felt worse because Sarkodie left me to my fate. He did not call or check up on me to find out how the procedure had gone,” Yvonne narrated.

Sarkodie and the manager are yet to officially respond to the allegations.

Corporate Ghana does not understand showbiz – Celestine Donkor’s manager  https://www.adomonline.com/corporate-ghana-does-not-understand-showbiz-celestine-donkors-manager/ Wed, 12 Apr 2023 10:26:26 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2238477 Kofi Donkor, the manager of gospel musician Celestine Donkor has bemoaned how difficult it is for gospel musicians to get sponsorship and ambassadorial deals.

He said on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM that most companies they approach to help support their music businesses decline their requests.

“I think Corporate Ghana does not really understand showbiz. That is my understanding. They don’t understand, so sometimes when you send a proposal to them, it just doesn’t make sense to them because they don’t just understand,” he said.

Asked if gospel musicians lose out on ambassadorial deals because most of the products do not fit the gospel agenda, he answered in the affirmative.

“You approach a financial institution with every document you need to prove, and they look and it and say they don’t have a model for our business,” he told the host Kwame Dadzie.

“Most of them will say that we are religious people so it is difficult to get them to reason along our lines. No matter the numbers you have, they see you as coming from that side; you know, this is religion and they don’t want to associate with you,” Kofi Donkor added.

Kofi also indicated that he once worked with one insurance company on Celestial Praiz from the 4th edition but for the past three editions they have pulled out on them. The new management would not want to be identified with a religious concert because the owners of the company belong to a different religion.

According to him, some gospel musicians are also not well-positioned with their brands to attract investors.

He advised it was time the gospel fraternity emphasised that gospel musicians have huge numbers and that they have what it takes to market products.

Piesie Esther details experience of being managed by her husband https://www.adomonline.com/piesie-esther-details-experience-of-being-managed-by-her-husband/ Fri, 04 Nov 2022 09:58:51 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2179335 Mrs Esther Asiedu, known in the creative industry as Piesie Esther, a renowned gospel musician, has shared her experience of having her husband as her manager.

Despite revealing it makes work easier, she was quick to add that there are some setbacks she has to face as a subordinate to her husband cum manager, both in her career and marital life.

She remarked “it is such that getting someone who understands the nature of my work helps a lot because the schedule of my work demands that I go to the studio to record in the evening.

“You can be in the studio up to 2am before coming home and if you have a male manager who is not your husband that can make your husband have different thoughts about your whereabouts,” she added.

She explained “it is risky sometimes going up and down with another man in the night who is not your husband but having your husband as your manager can help to calm such situations.

At times when she is under pressure to change outfits, she remarked that she is comfortable doing so in front of her manager, because she is married to him.

However, the ‘Okuraseni Moburonii’ hitmaker also revealed the cons of having her husband as her manager is conflict of interest.

According to her, their personal sentiments and ugly confrontations sometimes have a toll on her professional life.

“Maybe you want to do things this way and he also wants things to be done the other way which is normal as human beings but these can lead to issues between you two. But in all these you have to realize as a woman that you are under your husband so you need to be careful and realise that you need to be cautious of your actions,” she said.

She added that “sometimes people that you work with can sometimes call your husband and talk to him in a certain way that you won’t be happy with just because he’s your manager,” she said on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.

Akuapem Poloo’s emotional story on why her ‘sponsors’ sacked her https://www.adomonline.com/akuapem-poloos-emotional-story-on-why-her-sponsors-sacked-her/ Mon, 25 Apr 2022 13:09:24 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2108343 Controversial actress and socialite Akuapem Poloo has opened up on the times when she had men at her disposal to foot her bills.

The actress, at a point, said she was involved with two men; one who was her manager and the other, her lover.

She said she felt on top of the world when they were both sponsoring her, but for understandable reasons, they both sent her packing.

For a two-year period from 2018 to 2020, she said her American manager was particularly interested in her well being, and even followed her to interviews.

However, after her fame skyrocketed following the twerking incidence with Cardi B, she said her manager let her go because he felt her level has upgraded. However, what he did not know was that all she made from the twerking was fame, not funds.

Speaking in an interview with Delay, she said her manager disclosed he did not make any earnings from the investments he made into her, thus, did not want to continue sponsoring her.

On the part of her American sponsor she met on Facebook, she did not give details as to what led to their breakup, but she commented that his sponsorship has ceased.

During their online dating period, Poloo indicated that he was the pocket behind her lavish living and the expensive apartment she was renting.

Despite not meeting face-to-face before, she said the 54-year-old Caucasian man rented her a $1,000 monthly two-bedroom house for two years.

With both men out of her life, she said she is now a self-made lady staying in the modest part of Kasoa .

She is quoted to have said, “Accra is too expensive for me now that I am solely taking care of my mum and son and I am trying to build myself. Currently I am living in a house at Kasoa and I pay GHS 1,500 and it is also a very nice two-bedroom house.”

Former Coca Cola boss sentenced for taking bribes of over £1.2m https://www.adomonline.com/former-coca-cola-boss-sentenced-for-taking-bribes-of-over-1-2m/ Sun, 17 Apr 2022 18:41:44 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2105810 A former Coca-Cola manager who received bribes of more than £1.2mn as part of a corrupt scheme to award contracts to favoured companies has been given a suspended jail term of 20 months by a London court.

Noel Corry, 56, who worked at soft drinks bottler Coca-Cola Enterprises UK Ltd (CCE), pleaded guilty to five counts of corruption between 2004 and 2013 for leaking confidential inside information to three companies, helping them win valuable contracts in exchange for large amounts of money paid directly or indirectly to him.

At a sentencing hearing on Thursday, prosecutors told Southwark Crown Court that Corry had worked as a senior manager in the electrical and automation division at CCE since 1996, with responsibilities for subcontracting site service work.

He leaked information about rival bids to a manager at Cheshire-based Boulting Group (now trading as WABGS) as well as to Tritec Systems and Electron Systems, helping them win contracts — some of which were awarded at inflated rates or were for work never carried out, the court heard.

In return Corry, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester and companies linked to him received cash bribes, free tickets to sports, concerts and entertainment events, as well as money for the sponsorship of his local non-league football team Droylsden FC where Corry was honorary president. Corry had detailed payments in a spreadsheet on his computer entitled “slush”.

This was found in 2013 by Coca-Cola after the US-based soft drinks giant began an investigation into the leaking of confidential bid information and uncovered the corrupt scheme.

The soft drinks bottler said the criminal acts first came to light following its internal audit and it immediately alerted police. The added that it was disappointed by Corry’s corrupt behaviour and was “pleased to see these convictions”.

Corry was sentenced along with five other defendants including Peter Kinsella, 58, a contract manager at Boulting Group who had developed a corrupt working relationship with Corry. Kinsella, who lives in Manchester, pleaded guilty to three counts of corruption and three offences of conspiracy to bribe.

He was given a 12 month suspended jail term. Boulting Group had admitted one count of failure to prevent bribery between June 2011 and August 2013 and was fined £500,000. Gary Haines, 60, of Market Drayton, Shropshire who controlled Tritec Systems and Electron Systems, admitted two corruption offences and received a suspended jail term of 20 months.

Tritec and Electron were each fined £70,000 after admitting corruption and failure to prevent bribery.

The three men were also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work. Judge David Tomlinson, sentencing the defendants, said Corry had played a “leading role” in the scheme and had “abused his position of significant power and responsibility” at CCE.

The judge said, however, that he would take into account the admissions of guilt and the fact that sentencing had been delayed almost two-and-a-half years, which he said placed the case “ in a unique category”.

The court was told that prosecutors did not seek compensation or confiscation orders because Boulting, Tritec and Electron as well as Corry had already settled and paid financial settlements to Coca-Cola after the company lodged a High Court civil lawsuit against them.

Alistair Dickson of the Crown Prosecution Service, which brought the case, said that Corry had established a “corrupt culture. awarding contracts to those companies whose senior managers were prepared to bribe him for doing so.” He added that CCE was “wholly unaware of Corry’s corrupt actions to enrich himself”.

Lady in viral video is not Black Sherif’s mother – Artiste Manager https://www.adomonline.com/lady-in-viral-video-is-not-black-sherifs-mother-artiste-manager/ Wed, 02 Mar 2022 10:22:37 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2086205 The mysterious lady who was seen in a viral video, a few days ago, claiming to be the mother of Black Sherif, is just a fan of the rapper.

Black Sherif’s manager, Madona, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Hitz FM on Monday.

The lady in the said video circulating on social media, sounded very convincing that she is truly Black Sherif’s ‘mother’ when she emphatically stated that: “Black Sherif’s mother is the one standing here. You cannot do anything to my son or his career. He says I should tell you that he will not come out to clear the air himself.”

She also claimed that, although she is calm by nature, her purported son, Black Sherif, is spiritually fortified and therefore cannot be harmed by anyone. “You have no idea of the protective shield surrounding the boy. I am rather calm,” she noted in Twi. “Dan La’d, they cannot do anything to you. They are lying,” she emphasized in Hausa.

However, Madona, disproved the claims that the lady is the artiste’s biological mother, adding that she is not related to him in any way. Irrespective of this, the Manager could not hide his admiration for the said lady.

He said, “Da Don, I saw the video this morning. I admire that woman. I can see she is a big fan. But she is not Blacko’s mother,” Madona told the host of U Sey Weytin on Hitz FM.

When asked by “Da Don” whether he knows Black Sherif’s real parents, Madona explained that he has never seen them before, especially the mother, although Black Sherif communicates with her. He further disclosed Black Sherif’s parents are based abroad, but declined to state the exact country they live in.

The “Second Sermon” hit-maker has been accused of being an ingrate for abandoning his purported manager, Snap Chavis Wayne, after he financed the artiste’s career. His current manager, Madona, has also been sacked from “Snap’s” house.

Madona has urged fans not to heed to the rumor peddled on social media by some industry players and critics. He also expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their immense support for Black Sherif.

Manager jailed 15 years for squandering company’s funds on betting https://www.adomonline.com/manager-jailed-15-years-for-squandering-companys-funds-on-betting/ Thu, 15 Apr 2021 12:19:49 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1948462 A mother broke into uncontrollable tears at the Hohoe Circuit Court last Wednesday when her son, a 31-year-old fuel station supervisor, was handed a 15-year jail term.

Yussif Abubakar, a former worker of the Hohoe branch of Star Oil Company was sentenced for stealing GH¢139,118 belonging to his employer.

His mother, seemingly broken by the development, needed physical support as she made her way out of the court room wailing.

Abubakar was charged with stealing about two years ago.

He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty by the court after the full trial.

The trial judge, Mr Yaw Opoku Acheampong, in a 30-minute sentence said he would have sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment but the convict, throughout the trial showed remorse for his action.

Abubakar, whose lawyer was not present in court when judgement was pronounced, was also ordered to pay back the money to the company.

He is said to have used the money for sports betting but did not win any of the bets to enable him repay the money he took from the company’s coffers.

Facts

Presenting the facts of the case, the prosecution indicated that the convict was employed at Star Oil Company in Hohoe on November 17, 2012 as a washing bay manager and a pump attendant before rising through the ranks to become a branch supervisor for the same company on March 3, 2018.

 Yusuf Abubakar — The convict
The suspec, Yussif Abubakar

According to the prosecution, on November 19, 2019, Abubakar was asked by the company’s Relationship Officer, Mr Setor Alorwu, to produce receipts of payment of sales made from November 11, 2019, to November 19, 2019, but he failed to do so.

This raised a suspicion of discrepancies in his accounts at the company.

A report was then lodged at the Hohoe Police Station on November 19, 2019 which led to Abubakar’s detention.

An audit was subsequently conducted into the company’s accounts which revealed that proceeds from sales to the tune of GH¢139,118 made from November 8-19, 2019, were missing from the sales records.

Abubakar, when questioned on the whereabouts of the money, admitted his inability to deposit the money into the company’s account and said he used the money for sports betting.

4 years of sadness and doubts. Who killed my manager? – Kwaw Kese https://www.adomonline.com/4-years-of-sadness-and-doubts-who-killed-my-manager-kwaw-kese/ https://www.adomonline.com/4-years-of-sadness-and-doubts-who-killed-my-manager-kwaw-kese/#comments Wed, 14 Mar 2018 16:05:49 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1008751 Rapper Kwaw Kese is still demanding to know who killed his former manager on the fourth anniversary of his gruesome murder.
Fennec Okyere was murdered by unknown assailants at his Mannet Gardens residence at Spintex Road on March 13, 2014.
Kese posed a question on the anniversary of Okyere’s death on Twitter, writing: “4 years of sadness and doubts. Who killed my manager?”
Background
Former manager of rapper Kwaw Kese, Fennec Okyere was murdered by unknown assailants at his Mannet Gardens residence at Spintex Road on March 13, 2014.
Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson (Bull Dog) was arrested months after the murder by the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Hanson is said to have threatened to killl Okyere after a heated argument on ‘Entertainment Review’ on Peace FM. He called the latter and threatened to send his boys to teach him a lesson after the program had ended.
Prosper Agblor, the then Director General of the CID claimed that there were series of threatening phone calls and text messages to Okyere from people believed to be connected to Hanson.
Police investigations revealed that a day before Okyere’s murder, he received a call from an unknown person. Okyere was found dead at his residence the next morning.
Hanson was subsequently charged as the prime suspect in the murder of Okyere.
The Accra Central District Court discharged Hanson in January 2018 for what it said was the prosecution been conspicuously absent in the matter.
“Prosecution not here; complainant not here, at the last hearing date, prosecution has been conspicuously absent. I have no option than to discharge you.” noted Worlanyo Kotoku, who presided over the court.

Ghanaian Bozoma Saint John is Uber’s new brand manager https://www.adomonline.com/ghanaian-bozoma-saint-john-ubers-new-brand-manager/ Tue, 01 Aug 2017 07:28:40 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=350471 Uber’s first chief brand manager, Bozoma Saint John, has a lot of work to do restoring the shine to the ride hailing company that has been dogged by allegations of gender bias in the workplace and publicly outrageous behavior by its executives.
But Saint John, who grew up in Colorado Springs, says she’s up to the task.

“I want things to be great for people of color and for women,” Saint John said in a CBS This Morning interview with Gayle King on Friday. “And it’s not going to be easy. There are going to be lots of challenges, I’m sure there will be frustrating days, I’m sure there will be times I cry, but I’m hopeful. I can see the larger picture.”
Before she took at job at Uber last month, Saint John led Apple Music’s global consumer marketing division, and before that ran PepsiCo’s music and entertainment marketing division at PepsiCo for three years.

During the interview, Saint John also talked about growing up in Colorado.
She described her transition to her new job in Silicon Valley as similar to her experience immigrating to the U.S. from Ghana when she was 12.
‘It feels like the immigration story,” Saint John said, noting that when she immigrated to Colorado Springs, her family was the first Ghanaian family in the city. “But by the time I went to college, there were four or five families who were there. I feel the same way now. I’ve already seen it happen. If I’m there and people can see me, maybe you’ll come along too. This is a call to action, I’m right here.”
In Colorado Springs, Saint John was undaunted by her difference — a tall, black woman, as Gayle King described her — and quickly began to learn about her new community and society.
“I turned it into an opportunity to get to know the people around me,” she said. “Studying pop culture, watching TV shows, watching movies, listening to the radio. At school I could talk about what other kids were talking about. Maybe I wouldn’t seem so strange if I connected with them on the level they were used to.”
Saint John is taking on a role as brand manager in a time where her company’s image needs a significant change.
Uber fired 20 employees amid numerous sexual harassment claims, and just days after Uber executive David Bonderman resigned after making a sexist joke during a company meeting on sexual harassment, chief executive Travis Kalanick stepped down.

Marwako pepper manager hot over word ‘prostitute’ https://www.adomonline.com/marwako-pepper-manager-hot-word-prostitute/ Fri, 26 May 2017 07:06:40 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=137371 The real meaning of the Arabic word “sharmota” yesterday took centre stage at the trial of Jihad Chabaan, the embattled manager of the Ablemkpe branch of Mawarko Restaurant.

He has been charged with assaulting a Ghanaian caterer at the eatery.

Jihad, who has vehemently denied the use of the word, insists that he does not understand it and did not tell the police that “sharmota” has a lot of meanings, as the prosecution wants the court to believe.

Grilling

Under further cross-examination by the prosecution led by Chief Inspector H.A. Hanson, the accused person told the Abeka District Court, presided over by Ms. Victoria Guansah, that he did not tell the police that the meaning of the word is prostitute.

He stated that “prostitute” in Arabic is “Aahira” and not “sharmota,” contrary to the assertion by the prosecution.

C/Insp. Hanson indicated that it was necessary for Jihad to understand that he was testifying before a court of competent jurisdiction and as such ought to be careful with what he was telling the court.

But, Julio De Medeiros, his counsel, disagreed, insisting that the comments of the prosecutor amounted to threatening his client or “putting a gun on his (Jihad’s) head to answer the questions” in a certain way.

Faced with the controversy over the word “sharmota,” the judge enquired from the Arabic interpreter, Mohammed Mubarak Hidir, a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Department of Modern Languages.

“Sharmota” Unveiled

Mubarak Hidir stated that it is a colloquial Arabic word which is used in places like Egypt and Lebanon.

He explained that the word usually connotes negativity and can be used to insult a lady meaning a “prostitute.”

He further argued that in modern standard Arabic, there is a word for prostitute and not “sharmota.”

Jihad’s lawyer said he was not comfortable with the action of the judge seeking the meaning of the word.

Julio claimed that the action was as though the judge had joined the prosecution to prosecute his client.

He contended that if the court intended to take the meaning from the interpreter, then he (Mubarak Hidir) had to be sworn on oath and put in the box for him to be cross-examined on what he had told the court.

Julio said it was not in the judge’s place to fish for information for the prosecution, adding that for her to ask for the meaning of “sharmota” was going beyond her jurisdiction.

He contended that per the act, the judge had stepped into the shoes of the prosecution to try Jihad.

However, Ms. Victoria Guansah said the information was for her use and not to assist the prosecution in the matter.

She indicated that she could not also let any word she does not understand just pass, especially when it had been used in the court.

Sitting continues on May 31.

Charges

The accused, 26, is reported to have dipped the head of Evelyn Boakye – the caterer- into blended pepper on February 26, 2017.

According to the prosecution, the accused offensively conducted himself when he angrily called the complainant a “prostitute.”

Jihad is facing an additional charge of intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to Evelyn when he reportedly dipped the head of the complainant in the blended pepper.

Wiyaala in love with her manager https://www.adomonline.com/wiyaala-love-manager/ Wed, 08 Mar 2017 11:10:01 +0000 http://ghana-news.adomonline.com/new/?p=14911 In 2013, she spelt out her ideal man in one of her hit songs – Rock My Body- and four years on, it appears the eccentric songstress, Noella Wiyaala, who is considered a tomboy, has found her perfect match.

The musician, who is hardly seen in public with any man apart from her manager, John Sherren, has over the years been rumoured to be dating her British manager.

When asked on Onua FM to set the record straight on whether the two have something going on between them, Wiyaala responded with a line of that hit track: “…if he is ugly, if he is old, if he is young, I don’t mind. He is a nice man, I like to date him.”
Her heartwarming response touched the panelist on the show and triggered spontaneous applause from them but Wiyaala did not end there as she threw the question back at her manager.

Wiyaala: Would you like to date me John?

John: I have always wanted it to be a mutually beneficial relationship

Wiyaala: Would you like to date me John, yes or no? Everybody is here, if you don’t answer I will feel bad.

John: Yes

An elated Wiyaala then told Sherren to get a ring, cola nut, schnapps among other stuff that will be needed for their traditional wedding.
