His lawyer, Apraku Agyepong, confirmed the development in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, explaining that the review followed extensive deliberations with the OSP.

Mr. Adom-Otchere had been granted bail on Thursday after being questioned over a revenue assurance audit contract but remained in custody as he could not meet the initial requirements, which demanded two landed properties registered in his name as sureties.

With the revision, however, the broadcaster will now need only one landed property guaranteed by someone, instead of two.

Mr. Agyepong added that another condition, which required two sureties—one not below the level of a principal—has also been waived.

“He is also required to report at the OSP once a week and inform them before any trip outside the country. But regarding the submission of his travel documents, we are yet to have any discussions on that,” the lawyer explained.

Paul Adom-Otchere released but… – Lawyer [Audio] https://www.adomonline.com/paul-adom-otchere-released-but-lawyer-audio/ Fri, 01 Aug 2025 15:29:00 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2562543 Lawyer for former Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) Board Chairman, Paul Adom-Otchere, has confirmed that his client was released by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) but was subsequently recalled.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, counsel Apraku Agyepong revealed that Mr. Adom-Otchere was unexpectedly called back shortly after his release.

“He was called back due to what has been described as administrative reasons. We left the office and were even on our way home when he was called back,” Mr. Agyepong explained, adding that they are still awaiting clarification on the exact reasons.

According to him, Mr. Adom-Otchere was moved from the custody of the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) around 11 a.m. on Friday and taken to the OSP office before the development occurred.

The former GACL Board Chairman had earlier been granted bail on Thursday following questioning over an ongoing probe into a revenue assurance audit contract.

However, he was unable to leave custody after failing to meet the OSP’s bail requirement of providing two landed properties registered in his name as surety.

The condition has sparked criticism, with some Ghanaians describing it as “excessive and unreasonable.”
