Born a Christian, Kwaw Kese explained that his spiritual journey has evolved over time. He now identifies as a traditionalist and herbalist, stressing that faith, for him, goes beyond rigid labels.

“I was born into a Christian home so in Ghana you identify as a Christian but growing up I went through some transformations. Ata point I started practicing Islam, and they gave me the name Kamal. And later I delved into traditional religion because I believe that is for us. There is a saying that the Bible was brought by the white man. Before they came we were worshipping God,” he said.

Asked where he stands at present as in terms of religion, he said “I am a traditionalist, herbalist.”

Kwaw Kese spoke with pride about fatherhood, revealing that he is blessed with three children, two girls and a boy. He shared his excitement over his daughters’ growing talents, noting that they already play the piano and sing. For him, legacy is everything. He believes that at least one of his children must follow his path and take their talent global, carrying the family’s name beyond Ghana’s borders.

Before music defined his life, Kwaw Kese dreamed of becoming a lawyer. While attending Winneba Senior High School, he consistently ranked among the top five students. His only academic hurdle was French, which he struggled with due to what he described as an uninspiring teaching approach.

Despite everything, the dream of law has not faded. He says that if the opportunity arises, he would still love to pursue it. With humour, he added that he would gladly defend artistes such as Shatta WaleKwesi ArthurBlack SherifStonebwoy and Wendy Shay, joking added that if Shatta Wale is stubborn, then he would be an equally stubborn lawyer.

Shedding more light on his music career, Kwaw revealed that his first nickname in school was Montaking. The name “Kwaw Kese” later emerged from his family history, inspired by a relative who was a warrior. Kese, meaning “big”, was added to symbolise strength and presence.

His journey into music was far from glamorous. By his own admission, his first single, “Eye Nonsense” in 2004, was raw and experimental, inspired by heartbreak from his girlfriend, who allowed another man to “peregrinate” her. The track appeared on The Execution Diary, a compilation album by Hammer of the Last Two, and it became an instant hit, putting Kwaw Kese on the national radar.

He later released his debut solo album, Na Ya Tal, in 2005, firmly establishing himself as a bold, street-rooted voice in Ghanaian hiplife and hip-hop. He credited Dogo for introducing him to Hammer, whom he described not just as a producer but as a director who values quality over speed. According to Kwaw, no matter how much you pay Hammer, if you do not sound good on the beat, you simply will not record.

On politics, Kwaw Kese was clear: he belongs to no political party but any political party that wants him, he is ready for business. However, he is open to serving Ghana. When he gains enough financial strength, he plans to enter politics, starting as a Member of Parliament. He believes the country’s future depends on young people actively participating in governance, pointing out that many creatives are already making meaningful contributions in politics.

One of the most painful moments of his life remains the murder of his close friend and manager, Fennec Okyere. Kwaw recalled being in the shower when Fennec’s houseboy called with the devastating news. He rushed to the scene and found his friend lying in a pool of blood.

They had been together just a day earlier, planning future projects. The shock and trauma, he said, deeply affected both his career and personality. He does not believe the murder was a robbery, insisting it was a contract killing since nothing was stolen from the house. Although he was detained for questioning, he remains disturbed by the lack of closure and official communication from the police.

Addressing his controversial arrest in Kumasi, Kwaw clarified that it had nothing to do with public smoking, contrary to popular belief. He later learned that the arresting officer was allegedly acting out of jealousy, as his wife was a die-hard fan of the musician. What began as a joke quickly escalated into an arrest.

Looking ahead, Kwaw Kese revealed that he has released a single from his upcoming album From Far, which he hopes to officially drop in May.

Despite fame, controversy, loss and personal evolution, Kwaw Kese remains grounded in one enduring truth: purpose outlives pain. And for him, the journey from far is far from over.

Kwaw Kese to refund $170 raised for Kwesi Arthur to donors after backlash https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-to-refund-170-raised-for-kwesi-arthur-to-donors-after-backlash/ Wed, 18 Feb 2026 11:40:49 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2632357 Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has disclosed that he plans to refund donations made by the public for Kwesi Arthur.

A few weeks ago, Kwaw Kese created a GoFundMe account for Kwesi Arthur after the latter posted on social media that his former management was taking $150,000 from him for using his own images.

Unhappy with the gesture, Kwesi made a post asking people to disregard Kwaw’s move, indicating that he knew nothing about it.

Speaking to Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on Hitz FM’s morning show Daybreak Hitz, he said he was disappointed in Kwesi’s reaction to his campaign.

Kwaw said, considering the huge following he and Kwesi have, he thought he could use that to raise money for him to pay off his debt to his former management company Ground Up Chale.

“I set up the gofundme account and if it was a bad thing I wouldn’t even talk about it. I came online and posted the gofundme account and said people should support our brother, pay the money so that Kwesi Arthur can have his freedom,” he said.

He also noted that there was no way he would open the account and use the money without giving it to Kwesi.

“I was doing it strictly for Kwesi Arthur and was I was pained that someone could own his images and they want you to pay $150,000 dollars. You are bigger than that amount of money. Let’s do this, pay the guy off so you can be free,” he said.

He added that the amount raised was $170 and that he had decided to ask GoFundMe to refund the monies to those who contributed.

“The $170 dollars is still in the account. They have given me a deadline to withdraw it or they refund to the donors,” he said adding that considering the backlash he received from creating that account, he would allow gofundMe to refund the monies to those who contributed.

Kwaw Kese to start poultry farm under government’s ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ initiative https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-to-start-poultry-farm-under-governments-nkoko-nketenkete-initiative/ Fri, 10 Oct 2025 07:04:17 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2587110 Ghanaian hiplife artiste Kwaw Kese has revealed plans to venture into poultry farming, saying he hopes to benefit from the government’s Nkokor Nketenkete initiative.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, the rapper said he wants to expand his business interests beyond music.

“I do maize and cassava farming. I am ready to jump into the ‘nkokor nketenkete’ to start a poultry farm, so the government can help me,” he said.

Kwaw Kese explained that surviving on music alone in Ghana is difficult, hence his decision to diversify. Apart from farming, he runs an automobile business and an eatery.

The Nkokor Nketenkete project is a government initiative under the Feed Ghana flagship programme. It aims to revive Ghana’s poultry industry by boosting local production of broiler chickens and eggs to reduce dependence on imports.

The initiative targets about 55,000 households to participate in egg and poultry production. The government plans to provide day-old chicks, battery cages, feed, vaccines, and other essentials to households and small- to medium-scale producers, along with technical support.

A pilot phase will begin in selected districts, including 12 in the Northern Region, before expanding nationwide.

The project also includes an “anchor farmers” component involving about 50 large or medium-scale commercial farmers, each expected to raise around 80,000 birds.

Its long-term goal is to produce enough poultry domestically to meet nearly all of Ghana’s demand within three years, cutting down the country’s heavy poultry import bill.

Kwaw Kese exposes police bias, seeks $1m compensation [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-exposes-police-bias-seeks-1m-compensation-video/ Mon, 26 Feb 2024 11:49:05 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2361406 Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese is set to take legal action against the Ghana Police Service for jailing him over alleged marijuana usage.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, the ‘Abodam’ crooner said he feels humiliated after he was sentenced to a day’s imprisonment and a fine of GHc1,200 in 2015 for smoking marijuana in public.

According to him, he has proof that the Ghana Police turned a blind eye when Jamaican music star, Popcaan, smoked marijuana publicly.

He explained that, even though Ghana Police has no photo or video evidence to support their claim against him, he was jailed, but “the foreigner was protected and spared”.

“I was jailed for it and the same police that arrested me are now guarding someone to smoke in public and that person goes scot-free. If that is so, then I have to be compensated; it’s not fair. Ghana Police didn’t treat me right, and I think the system has not been fair to me,” he told Andy Dosty.

When asked how much money he wants from the Police for allegedly denting his reputation, he simply said “one million dollars.”

This is not the first time Kwaw Kese has expressed his displeasure about the Popcaan incident.

When the Jamaican musician stormed Ghana to enjoy the #YearofReturn initiative in 2020, Kwaw Kese took to social media to register his sentiments when Popcaan popped his head out of the sunroof, so fans could catch a glimpse of him smoking.

The police who were at the venue, he claimed failed to arrest him.

Ghana music industry in shambles – Kwaw Kese https://www.adomonline.com/ghanas-music-industry-in-shambles-kwaw-kese/ Fri, 15 Dec 2023 13:48:28 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2332781 Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese has said Ghana music industry is in a mess.

In his view, musicians should not be ‘begging’ for their music to be played in their own country.

His comments come after some stakeholders of the music industry met with the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry in collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency on Thursday to launch the #PlayGhana initiative.

The initiative aims to promote Ghanaian music across the country ahead of the Christmas ‘detty December’ activities where there is an influx of diasporans spending their holidays in Ghana.

Kwaw Kese mocked the initiative, blaming the system for the current ‘mess’.

“Ghanaians begging Ghanaians to play Ghana music in 2023. System super fucked.” Kwaw Kese posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Artistes drag GHAMRO over ‘GHS 153 royalties’ payment https://www.adomonline.com/artistes-drag-ghamro-over-ghs-153-royalties-payment/ Fri, 16 Dec 2022 14:58:59 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2196182 Ghanaian artistes have questioned the relevance of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) as the issue of royalties is once again on the table for discussion.

GHAMRO was set up in 2015 as a royalties collection agency that represents the rights of music copyright holders, but to its employers, the agency has failed in it’s duties.

After promising to start paying royalties after they were bashed early this year, GHAMRO has fulfilled it’s duty, but at a chicken feed.

It has emerged that some artistes receive as low as GHS 67 and averagely, GHS 153 for their years of hard work.

This has forced many artistes to air their grievances on social media as a means of demanding accountability from the GHAMRO executives.

Gospel musician Nhyira Betty, who has five albums with two hit songs to her credit, has revealed that she received GHS 153 via Mobile Money.

According to her, her first royalty amounted to GHS 400 and rather than an advancement, the collection has reduced.

She believes her 17 years in the gospel music industry should have accrued a value more than she was given as she wonders what upcoming musicians would receive.

On his part, Kwaw Kese revealed he has never been paid any royalties in his 20 years of doing music.

The Hiplife artiste, who swept away five awards on the night of the 2008 edition of the Ghana Music Awards, lamented how he is expected to survive in the industry with no support.

He opined that the financial burden of production, promotion and distribution has all been left on the shoulders of the artistes, and urged GHAMRO to ensure they enjoy from their craft.

Rapper Ayigbe Edem did not deviate from the negotiating line as he came with full attack on the royalties collection board.

In his view, there is no Ghanaian entity designated for artistes in Ghana that is as useless as GHAMRO.

He added multiple emojis to his tweet to display his fury.

Speaking in an interview on the same issue on Joy Prime, Pappy Kojo expressed disappointment in the executives and bemoaned the meager amount they are paid.

“If GHAMRO will be giving GHS 153 for royalties, then they should keep it,” he said while in a somber mood.

The executives are yet to comment on the latest virtual protest.

Kwaw Kese chases Ghana police as case against Shatta, Bulldog ends in a stalemate https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-chases-ghana-police-as-case-against-shatta-bulldog-ends-in-a-stalemate/ Tue, 06 Dec 2022 23:03:33 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2192382 Hiplife artiste Kwaw Kese has expressed disappointment in the Ghana Police Service for the slow pace in bringing closure to the death of his manager, Fennec Okyere.

Fennec was killed in his home on March 13, 2014 by some unknown assailants, and due to insufficient evidence, the murder case has since gone cold.

However, the case was revisited when Dancehall King Shatta Wale alleged his former employee, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, now known as Bullgod, is hiding some key information that could crack the case.

Shatta, in a self-taken video, alleged Bullgod was the key architect in the murder, adding that the crime was orchestrated by Bullgod’s “boys”.

The Ghana Police Service invited Shatta to furnish them with further information to the crime he bragged to have knowledge of, and in a situational report, indicated that the artiste is cooperating with them.

However, the silence from the police after a month has elicited worry in Kwaw Kese who believes the case should be heading towards providing answers on who the murders are, and bringing justice to the late Fennec’s family.

Kwaw Kese argued that Shatta Wale’s accusation against Bullgod has pinned him as an accessory to the crime, hence he is calling on the Ghana police to wake up and face their duty.

“If somebody confesses to killing somebody and we are still doing investigations then I don’t know what that is about. Shatta Wale confessed that the secret is that he [Bulldog] planned and killed my manager what evidence again are you Ghana police looking for to make an arrest?”

According to him, he has petitioned the IGP, George Akuffo Dampare yet no concrete action is being taken, which to him means the police simply does not care.

Shortly after he made his statement, Kwaw Kese has also shared a video to maintain the fact that he is keen for closure with regards to Fennec Okyere’s death.

According to the Abodam rapper he is expecting justice to be served.

He said: “I am wide awake. This thing is not a joke thing. So I want everybody to be wide awake. I want Ghana Police to be awake, and I want Shatta to be awake and be ready to cooperate so that whoever is behind my manager’s death shall be brought to book. I am not sleeping any more,” he said.

According to him, he has an information that will put Bulldog, born as Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, into a tight corner.

The ‘Already’ hitmaker wrote on Facebook:

Kwaw’s manager, Fennec Okyere, was killed at his Manet Gardens residence in March 2014 and at the time, Bulldog was named the prime suspect in the case and was picked up by the Criminal Investigations Department in April for investigations as he was alleged to have threatened to kill Fennec.

In January 2018 an Accra Central District Court set Bulldog free and cleared him of all murder charges. Kwaw Kese registered he wasn’t happy about the judgement.

Reacting to Shatta Wale’s post on November 2, 2022, Kwaw Kese has asked the Ghana Police to invite the duo for further questioning.

“@ghpoliceservice Pls help us get justice on my manager’s murder. I believe @shattawalenima and @bullhaus know something we need to know. Pls let’s delve into this ??????”

Meanwhile, Bulldog is yet to react to Shatta Wale’s recent allegation as he had earlier been cleared by a court of competent jurisdiction.

‘I’m ready to reveal how Bulldog murdered Kwaw Kese’s manager’ – Shatta Wale

In the past few weeks the two have not been on good terms. Bulldog had already said he was no longer Shatta Wale’s manager on July 15, 2022.

But they have been jabbing themselves after Bulldog slammed Shatta Wale for being bitter about others’ success, especially Burna Boy.

Shatta Wale in a riposte slammed Bulldog for granting such interviews, adding that, Bulldog was never his manager but an employee, who worked for his brand.

Bulldog subsequently returned to Facebook and prayed for Shatta Wale. According to him, the dancehall musician is frustrated with regards to his career sinking.

Meanwhile, Bulldog’s frustration tweet didn’t sit well with Shatta Wale who has since threatened to expose how Bulldog was allegedly involved in Fennec Okyere’s murder.

Bulldog is yet to react to Shatta Wale’s recent allegation as he had earlier been cleared by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Few hours after music lovers took to the digital platform to praise Burna Boy for his record-breaking show in New York, Kwaw Kese called him out for failing to go on his tour with Black Sherif.

According to Kwaw Kese, Burna Boy promised to go on tour with Black Sherif but his recent tours have proved he is not a man of his word.

He wrote: Burna promised to take Blacko on tour but he’s on tour performing Blacko songs without him. @burnaboy you lied ???

The tweet has since sparked reactions on social media.

But reacting to this on Hitz FM, Martinez said Kwaw Kese’s conduct is an example of the kettle calling the pot black.

He explained that, the ‘Abodam’ hitmaker has done nothing to promote musicians in Ghana.

The pundit cited how Kwaw Kese could not even support his own brother’s music career to buttress his point.

“What has he also done for Ghana? Did he do anything for us to know he is pushing Blacko? Burna Boy’s mileage also added up to the Kweku the Traveller hit song. The Lagos trip has helped Blacko and he has pushed him on many international platforms” he stressed.

Martinez is certain Burna Boy probably did not go on tour with Black Sherif due to his court issues.

In a tweet, Kwaw Kese asked someone to send the message to Vic Mensa, who has since been chilling with colleague rapper Chance The Rapper when he touched down in Ghana from the US.

The Abodam hitmaker wrote: Someone tell Vic Mensa that he needs a collab with the man insane, all the ones he’s made in GH is good but nframa nkoaaa. You need that boom sound.

According to Kwaw Kese, Shatta Wale’s utterances during the concert go a long way to show that he is only fooling himself.

Kwaw Kese explained that the influx of Nigerian songs in Ghana has come to stay, hence Shatta Wale should embrace Nigerians with love than slander them.

If any Ghana musician thinks fighting Nigerian artistes is the way to go he’s fooling himself… They’re ahead of this Showbiz thing, we for tap into the blessings, Kwaw Kese said.

Meanwhile, in one of Shatta Wale’s arguments he mentioned that Nigerian musicians are rather faking love to Ghanaian musicians so they can use them but Kwaw Kese has debunked the statement as untrue.

Citing instances, he said Burna Boy is currently showing Black Sherif so much love after their Second Sermon remix; Wizkid has expressed love over King Promise’s career and Davido, he added, is very uptight with Stonebwoy.

I have taken a break from smoking – Kwaw Kese https://www.adomonline.com/i-have-taken-a-break-from-smoking-kwaw-kese/ Wed, 03 Nov 2021 17:21:35 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2038231 Rapper Kwaw Kese has revealed that he has taken a break from an act he was long involved in and was widely known for – smoking.

Speaking to Andy Dosty on Joy Entertainment’s Daybreak Hitz on Monday, he recounted when he used to “take a puff.”

But Kwaw Kese said, “now I have taken a break.”

The rapper was arrested seven years ago in Kumasi and was charged for marijuana possession and usage.

Contrary to public perception that finding himself in the grips of the law could be his reason for shying away from smoking marijuana, the rapper cited being a responsible family man as the basis for the turnover.

Kwaw Kese said, “I’m a matured man. I have kids. I have to slow down on some things…I was crazy, but now the craziness has toned down.”

Throwing more light on the aftermath of his arrest, he admitted that his respect for the laws of Ghana shot up after the incident that occurred in 2014.

His submissions further proved that lessons picked from the past include being careful with utterances made in public spaces, especially on things the law prohibits.

He said, “I respect the law; I am someone whom the law has dealt with before. So there is no way I will disrespect the law”.

Kwaw Kese claims to be still “the man insane”, except his “madness” is now qualified with positivity and calls it “beautiful madness”.

The policeman who came to arrest me was drunk – Kwaw Kese alleges https://www.adomonline.com/the-policeman-who-came-to-arrest-me-was-drunk-kwaw-kese-alleges/ Wed, 03 Nov 2021 17:08:30 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2038200

Controversial Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese, says his experience in prison has taught him one of the greatest lessons in life.

After serving a jail term for smoking cannabis in public, Kwaw Kese says he now reveres the law and will never engage in acts that would land him in prison custody again.

In an interview on Day Break Hitz on Monday, the music act cautioned fellow artistes against activities that have the potential to destroy their reputation and brands.

“In all, it’s the law. When the law catches you, there’s nothing you can do about it. I really respect the law. I am somebody the law has dealt with before, so, there is no way I will disrespect the law.

“I wouldn’t wish anyone to be jailed in Ghana. Freedom is very expensive in Ghana,” he said.

Kwaw Kese was tried for narcotic offences and was sentenced to a day’s imprisonment and a fine of GHc1,200 in 2015.

The rapper, popularly called ‘Abodam’, has since been advocating for decongesting of the country’s prisons and improving conditions there.

Recounting events that led to his arrest, Kwaw Kese claimed that the policeman who arrested him was drunk upon arrival.

“The policeman, CID, the so-called CID who came out to pull a gun on me and all that…he was shaking; his gun fell down, he was drunk. If you want to arrest somebody, I believe that you have to have a warrant to arrest the person.

“But if you come with a force by yourself, drunk and unable to control yourself, anybody who has a bad intention, could have done something else. It should be done right. That’s why I believe I was a target at the time,” he alleged.

According to him, “there’s more to it than what we saw; it was something that somebody had planned to do.”

However, “it came into my life and changed my life. It made me respect the laws of Ghana.”

It is Kwaw Kese’s prayer that his colleague is released from police custody soon.

This comes after he was arrested following his alleged fabrication of a story purporting he had been shot by an unknown assailant on Monday night.

Shatta Wale appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday and was remanded into police custody for one week.

He has been charged with publication of false news and causing fear and panic that could see him being cautioned, fined, or jailed for three years if found guilty.

Taking to Twitter to say the prayer, the Abodam hitmaker made reference to his case in 2014.

Kwaw Kese was arrested with some friends for smoking marijuana in a public place in Kumasi, sentenced today to imprisonment with a fine of GHC 1,200.

However, he added that it was his hope that the dancehall artiste does not suffer the fate he went through.

The musician said he regrets buying expensive cars he did not need years ago when he said he was a visionless young man.

Back in 2008, Kwaw Kese secured his first car, a Cadillac CTS he said he bought for $20,000 and another in 2013, for a much higher price, a $35,000 Mustang.

Along the line when his career was at its peak, Kwaw said he bought three others and a Range Rover for his wife, a decision he expressed regrets over.

To the musician better known as Abodam, the monies he spent lavishly on what he opined as unnecessary luxury could have served as capital for several businesses.

Of what he could have invested in, Kwaw Kese listed farming, real estate and any business he can enjoy from when he decides to bow out of music.

His revelation comes after social media users termed him ‘broke’ for failing to live a flashy lifestyle.

Kwaw Kese said he couldn’t open up much about his music background because Kanye’s fans noticed his presence, hence his bodyguard rushed him away.

Kwaw Kese calls for a presidential debate [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-calls-for-a-presidential-debate-video/ Thu, 08 Oct 2020 14:01:12 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1864326 Rapper Kwaw Kese is calling on Ghanaians to make a case for the presidential debate between New Patriotic Party’s President Nana Akufo-Addo and National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) John Mahama ahead of the 2020 general election.

According to the rapper, the electorate need to know what the two candidates can offer them before voting on December 7.

He said, in a viral video, that successive governments have come and gone but they usually do not stick to their words and promises.

Kwaw Kese added that a lot of things are happening in the country and citizens need to know what these candidates can do differently to remedy the situation.

“We have to be smart,” he said in the video posted on his Instagram page.

He is not the only person who has been calling for a debate between candidates of the two major parties.

Former President John Mahama has on more than two occasions challenged President Akufo-Addo to debate him prior to the December election.

He said since they have both had a taste of the presidency, there is a common basis to debate whose track record is better.

The NDC flagbearer said the President, who had refused his first offer to debate, is running away from debate because he has nothing to show for his time in office.

However, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, said the debate is unnecessary.

He acknowledged that although a presidential debate will be interesting, there is no point in having it when both parties have a four-year record for the citizenry to analyse themselves.

Kwaw Kese goes ‘insane’ over $150 COVID-19 testing fee [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-goes-insane-over-150-covid-19-testing-fee-video/ Sun, 04 Oct 2020 14:44:38 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1862713 Hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese has joined those calling for the $150 COVID-19 testing fee to be scrapped.

According to him, the fee being charged for the test at the Kotoka International Airport is a total ripoff.

“Is this not extortion?, the one in charge of the airport is a cheat. As a citizen coming back to my own home after months of travel, you want to charge $150. What is Ghana turning into,” he fumed.

The mandatory testing, which is to be conducted for all passengers coming into the country forms part of directives outlined by the Ministry of Aviation and Health to ensure that the deadly disease is not imported into the country.

Many groups including the Bureau of Public Safety are also asking government to scrap the entire fee – a suggestion government has not responded to.

Kwaw Kese who is set to return to Ghana after spending seven months USA state, Atlanta is promising a showdown.

To him, the $150 testing fee is a total cheat since he is being charged just $5 in Atlanta for a similar test.

“Is Ghana for sale,” Kwaw Kese asked before hinting he will deal with anybody who obstructs his entry with any COVID protocol.

Kwaw Kese reacts to Jamaican musician Popcaan smoking marijuana in public https://www.adomonline.com/kwaw-kese-reacts-to-jamaican-musician-popcaan-smoking-marijuana-in-public/ Fri, 10 Jan 2020 15:03:10 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1739740 Popcaan, the popular Jamaican music star, has been in Ghana for some days now to observe Ghana’s Year of Return initiative.

As part of the visit, the musician has been to many tourist destinations including the Cape Coast Castle, Aburi Botanical Gardens, among other places.

He was also captured spending some quality time with Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah.

In a videos posted by the Family hitmaker, he is seen smoking marijuana as he popped his head out of the sunroof so fans could catch a glimpse of him smoking the substance many believe to be marijuana.

Marijuana is a banned substance in Ghana with many advocates, including the Herb Society of Ghana fighting for its decriminalisation.

What many can’t comprehend on social media is that some policemen who were deployed to protect the Jamaican looked on as he engaged in the criminal act.

The best the could do was to prevent Popcaan’s Ghanaian fans from mobbing the musician.

Interestingly, it can be recalled that Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese was arrested and fined in a similar gesture where he was seen smoking publicly in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Reacting to Popcaan’s action, Kwaw Kese, who was himself a victim of public marijuana smoking felt the authorities spared him because he is a foreigner and they only dealt with him for being a native.

Only in Ghana foreigners can f**k up like this. When @kwawkese smoked in public he was arrested. So this means our Law set only to control on the citizens but foreigners are free to go. The most painful part is Ghana ?? ??♀️ ? police. None of them was able to speak the truth out because of the small coins which will be given out … Ooh Ghana.”

But Popcaan didn’t let Kwaw Kese’s post slide away.

In a riposte, he said he was ready to meet the government of Ghana for marijuana legalization talks.

“I’m not a foreigner bro we all came from Africa; don’t be mad bro let’s try to organise a meeting with the government to legalise weed; it’s simple #unruly” he told Kwaw Kese.”
