Ogum, the former WAFA manager, has been under increasing scrutiny following Asante Kotoko’s failure to secure a victory in their last eight matches during the second half of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The situation worsened for the Porcupine Warriors after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC on Sunday at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu during Matchday 26. Their last victory dates back to the previous month against Bibuani Gold Stars.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, stressed the need for Prosper Narteh Ogum to make the sacrificial decision of resigning to prevent the club from facing relegation.

“I firmly believe that Prosper Narteh Ogum must take the initiative and resign from his position at the club,” remarked the former National Sports Authority (NSA) Board Chairman,” he said.

“In all my years supporting Asante Kotoko, I’ve never witnessed a stretch of eight games without a win. If we’re not cautious and fail to secure victories in our next three matches, relegation might become a reality.

“We, as supporters, cannot allow such an outcome, which is why the coach should reflect on his performance and resign. Although he was appointed by Otumfuo as part of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), and perhaps the members of the IMC can’t directly instruct him to leave, considering the current team performance, it’s imperative for Prosper Narteh Ogum to depart.

“We won’t sit idly by and watch the club descend into relegation before taking action,” he emphasized.

Asante Kotoko currently occupies the 11th position in the Premier League standings with 33 points and is set to face FC Samartex in their upcoming Matchday 27 fixture on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Prosper Narteh Ogum is Asante Kotoko’s problem – Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang https://www.adomonline.com/prosper-narteh-ogum-is-asante-kotokos-problem-kwadwo-baah-agyemang/ Mon, 15 Apr 2024 10:32:25 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2381112 Former Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has blamed the head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum for the club’s challenges.

His remarks come following the Reds’ 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC in the Matchday 26 games at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday afternoon.

The defeat means the Porcupine Warriors have not recorded a win in their last eight Premier League games.

However, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who is a former member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North speaking on Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show blamed the former WAFA boss for the club’s poor performances.

“Where Asante Kotoko is heading to is not acceptable. These are the same players they played in the first round of the Ghana Premier League, so what has changed?” he said.

“I have been told that the coach (Prosper Narteh Ogum) approach to some issues and the players are not the best.

“When he was reappointed, he described some of the players as politicians because he felt some players still holds allegiance to the people who brought them to the club which is wrong.

“For me, what is happening at the club, Prosper Narteh Ogum, who is the head coach of the team is the problem of Asante Kotoko.

“This is Asante Kotoko and what is happening has never happened before and it is about time some changes happen before it is too late,” Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang, who also serves as the Ghana Digital Centre chief added.

The defeat leave Asante Kotoko at the 11th on the league log with 33 points. Prosper Narteh Ogum and his changes will hope to steer the club to winning ways when they face FC Samartex in the matchday 27 games this weekend.

NPP parliamentary primaries: Kwadwo Baah Agyemang confident of victory https://www.adomonline.com/npp-parliamentary-primaries-kwadwo-baah-agyemang-confident-of-victory/ Wed, 10 Jan 2024 19:45:07 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2340464 The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Center Limited, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang is confident of winning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Asante Akyem North constituency.

He said he will transform the constituency if he becomes the Member of Parliament (MP), adding that, his footprints are already visible.

The NPP currently holds the seat with Andy Appiah-Kubi as the Member of Parliament.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, the aspirant said his decision is a response to the call from constituents on him, adding there is a need for a change.

According to him, the NPP is not in good standing and risk losing the seat because of Mr Appiah-Kubi.

Mr Agyemang is a former MP who represented the constituency from 2012 to 2016.

He will be contesting in the election scheduled for January 27 with four other persons including the incumbent MP.

He, however, believes he is the best bet to lead the NPP to victory in 2024, after a group of Assembly members picked nomination forms for him.

“We saw the results in Cameroon which were absolutely unacceptable and moving forward, the government now wants to be involved. I am a politician and I know that the NPP government is interested in who becomes the next Black Stars coach.

“When Milovan was contacted, the FA was told he [Milovan Rajevac] would do a bad job for the Black Stars but they went ahead with the appointment and you think the government wouldn’t be interested in who becomes the next Black Stars coach this time around?” he added.

Milovan Rajevac, who signed a one-year deal in September 2021, was shown the exit following Ghana’s abysmal performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon.

The Black Stars exited the tournament with just a point.
