Baba Yara Stadium Shooting: Police officer interdicted

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has interdicted the police officer who allegedly shot a fan at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

The interdiction, according to Regional Police Command, will be in force until investigations into the matter are concluded.

A statement signed by the Public Affairs Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, said the Command takes a serious view of the incident and has subsequently commenced investigation.

The statement added that any person who has information, pictures or videos on the incident should send them to through to 0244288019 to assist with the investigations.

The incident happened after Asante Kotoko’s 1-0 defeat against Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League.

‘Prophet of Doom’ predicted Kotoko accident

His first public prophecy resulted in a national disaster; the Kintampo waterfall disaster. The second; a plane crash for the Black Stars team and the loss of football legend Abedi Pele, caused fear and panic, particularly among members of the Ghana national team and the Ghana Football Association. The third, well, has seen several persons injured and one killed.
General overseer of God’s Crown Chapel, Prophet Reindolf Oduro Gyebi, also known as ‘Eagle Prophet’, has said that management and players of the Kotoko team decided their fate by choosing to travel immediately after the match with Inter Allies as against his advice.
The Prophet said the accident would not have occurred should the team have heeded his advice to delay their trip back to Kumasi after the game on Wednesday. According to him, a revelation he had prior to the incident indicated that there was an accident going to happen should they return the same day after the match, this he said, was made known to a member of the management of the team in an effort to avert the tragedy.
”I had a prophecy that something terrible was going to happen to the team on their way back to Kumasi after Wednesday’s game so I prompted a key member of the management team to inform them about the prophecy”, he is reported to have said.
The advice however he explained, was ignored and the result; the unfortunate accident that killed one person and left several others injured.
The bus carrying the entire crew; players and technical staff, was involved in a terrible accident after running into a truck at Nkawkaw near Abepotia on Wednesday evening. The players are said to have been returning after a match with Inter Alies in the week 22 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors had been dealt a huge blow after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Inter Allies in the league and it turned worse after the bus heading to Kumasi from Accra encountered the unfortunate incident.
The club has by far reported the death of one person; Deputy kit and equipment officer, Kofi Asare who unfortunately perished in the tragedy. The coach, Steve Polack, reports suggest, is in a critical condition. Several other members of the club also suffered various degrees of injuries in the accident.
Several persons including President Akufo-Addo and Former President John Mahama have shown support to the victims following the incident.

Previous prophecies
It will be recalled that Prophet Oduro Gyebi predicted on Accra based Abusua FM, the calamity that occurred at the Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong Ahafo region, a week before it occurred.
On the program, he was heard warning authorities of the schools planning the excursions for their students to have them cancelled to avoid the tragedy. The prophecy which supposedly was ignored saw several students injured and others dead.

The same Prophet in June predicted a fatal plane crash for Ghana’s National team, the Black Stars. The Black Stars he revealed, will be involved in a fatal plane crash in September and the country’s legend Abedi Pele will die from a strange sickness and needs urgent intercession prayers to save him from the impending death.
The GFA following the revelation by the prophet were advised to change plans towards the scheduled trip to Congo in September for the return leg of their 2018 World Cup qualifier in Brazzaville.
Speaking on Abusua FM, the Prophet noted that though he does not wish for “evil revelations”, it is essential that he receives them so that prayers can be offered in that regard to avert the foreseen events.

Remember Kotoko accident victims in your prayers – John Mahama

Former president John Dramani Mahama has asked Ghanaians and all supporters of the Kotoko Football Club to remember the team in their prayers in the wake of a terrible car accident they suffered.
The accident, which occurred on the Nkawkaw-Nanchia highway, is said to have happened after a truck on its way to Tamale which was loaded with fertiliser run into the speeding Kumasi Asante Kotoko bus leaving the bus terribly mangled.
It all happened when the football team was returning from Accra after a fiery match with Inter Allies.
All victims of the accident are currently receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw as the coach and driver of the Kotoko bus are said to have been transferred for intensive treatment to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
On his Facebook page, former president Mahama called on all Ghanaians to say a little prayer for the team in these difficult times.
