A female student of KNUST Senior High School(SHS) at the center of a viral video involving an Assistant Headmaster(Academic), Charles Akwasi Aidoo, has spoken publicly for the first time, disputing reports about her age.

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey had earlier revealed that the student was 13 years old.

Dr. Lartey reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to protecting children and vulnerable groups, stressing that perpetrators of abuse would face the full rigours of the law.

However, in an exclusive interview with Adom News, the female student insisted she is 19 years old, not 13 as earlier claimed.

“Just tell them I am 19 years old. I was born on 21st July 2006. I’m not 13 years old,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Monday, September 29, 2025, dismissed Mr. Aidoo after the video, which showed him in a compromising situation sparked outrage.
