Legendary Ghanaian rapper Tinny has opened up about his strained relationship with fellow artiste King Jerry, revealing that their bond fell apart due to disrespect.

According to the “Makola Kwakwe” hitmaker, King Jerry was once someone he regarded as a protégé, but crossed the line when he began throwing unprovoked jabs his way.

Tinny expressed disappointment over the trend of younger artistes attacking their seniors in the industry for attention, stressing that such actions only hurt their own careers.

He explained that he has always respected his predecessors and would never deliberately take shots at them, hence his dismay at the behavior of the new generation.

“I feel sad for them. A junior artiste will never have the final say over a senior. If you choose to shade a senior, you should know the impact that will have on your career.”

He added that, as a result, he now keeps such individuals at arm’s length, maintaining that he prefers peace over unnecessary drama.

Gasmilla has replied to King Jerry’s claims that he [Gasmilla] treated him unfairly in the past, a reason he wouldn’t want to do a song with him. 

King Jerry told Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz in an interview that he started music before Gasmilla, Nii Funny and Luta, so if he had to feature any artiste it should be one that is bigger than him. 

“I just don’t wan do collaboration with am. Right now If I go do collobration, [it should be] big artiste koraa,” he said in Pidgin English.

He added that he even featured on three songs on Gasmilla’s first album but when he also needed the ‘3 Points’ hit maker for just a song, he gave him excuses. 

Meanwhile, Gasmilla has debunked all those statements by King Jerry, saying King is his ‘child’ who has received help from him on a number of occasions.

“He be my pikin. You dey understand? He be my pikin. I put am on aaaa. I put am on plenty shows. I do some Labadi show wey I put am on. I pay am. It was a paid show. That one I pay am. The events he dey talk all e no be paid events. Ebe carnivals basically to say ‘thank you to the community’l,” he told Andy in Pidgin English. 

Gasmilla added that since he got into the industry he has supported a lot of Ga musicians than anyone else. 

“This is the first time ever in the history of Ga music wey you dey see more artistes from the Ga side penetrate. Adane Best ein time, how many artistes dey? Tinny ein time, how many Ga artistes dey? My time, I make sure say I put everybody on,” he noted.

He said as a brother, King Jerry should just had approached if he has any issue with him.

The ‘Telemo’ hit maker said that during his Abelefest concert which was held last year, he billed King Jerry but the latter failed to attend. 

“Even this Abelefest that I come do, I put you on, I call you. You no pick my call. Later I make my executive assistant call you wey you charge some dough. Later we call you say we go give you some dough, you say you nogo take am. After we post all the flyers out there, that is when you come that right now you go do the show,” he added. 

Gasmilla has hit songs like ‘Telemo’, ‘3Points’, ‘Aboodatoi’, ‘Odo Yewu’, among others.

Explaining his decision on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, King Jerry said he started music before Gasmilla, Nii Funny and Luta, so if he has to feature any artiste it should be one that is bigger than him. 

“I just don’t want do collaboration with him. Right now if I go do collaboration, [it should be] big artiste koraa,” he said in Pidgin English.

According to him, there are only two Ga artistes who are his seniors on the Ga music scene: Drinkables and Fresh Page. 

“I be bigger koraa. Right now where I dey? E no be say we dey do challenge or something but right now me too I dey der. I dey inside before they come wey right now, I still dey inside,” he added.

He further noted that he has “a lot of problems” with Gasmilla. 

He had supported Gasmilla in the past but he did not reciprocate the support 

“The boys wey dem dey Ga if dem blow, I dey show them love. As Gasmilla he dey hit, I dey support am. He dey do clean up exercise, I dey support am from Ga, Osu, Teshie Nungua, Labadi,” he said.

King Jerry went ahead to say he even featured on three songs on Gasmilla’s first album but when he also needed the ‘3 Points’ hit maker for just a song, he gave him excuses. 

He is known for songs such as ‘Obaa Gbo Shi’, ‘Shika Tsofani’, Anyemi, among others.

According to him, Bukom Banku has learnt most of his songs, hence when he is booked for shows, he performs most of his songs.

The singer said anytime he tries to open up on the matter, Bukom Banku refuses to heed his plea.

I don’t write songs in recent times. I have never taken his song…he is my friend we have walked for like a decade.

I am his teacher when it comes to music. He has learnt most of my songs cos they are easy to sing.

He took one of my songs recently… Because he is famous than me he takes advantage of that, than me. He promotes them indirectly but that is not his intention.

He even plays shows and sings some of my songs for cash. When I tell him he says he will beat me, he told Kwaku Manu.
