In a Facebook post shared days after the incident, the artiste revealed that a driver lost control while reversing and headed straight toward him on the sidewalk behind Center Point Mall. Two members of his team noticed the danger in time and reacted swiftly, preventing what could have been a fatal accident.

Although he survived, the accident left Kelvyn Boy with a fractured ankle, forcing him to miss several scheduled shows.

“God saved me through two of my guys who saw it fast and reacted quick enough,” he wrote, expressing gratitude for life despite the injury.

Kelvyn Boy apologised to promoters and fans affected by his absence, urging event organisers to coordinate with his management to reschedule missed performances. He also assured fans that he is determined to honour upcoming shows before the end of the year, even if it means performing on crutches.

“I’m racing against time. I’ll be there (with crutches if need be) to rave. Nothing’s gonna stop us now,” he added.

The singer concluded with a reminder to cherish life and prioritise safety.

“Stay safe, always be thankful for life,” he said.

According to him, he has been trying to patch things up with the dancehall star for the past five years.

The two artistes, who once shared a strong musical partnership under Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group, had a falling out several years ago, leading to Kelvyn Boy’s exit from the label.

Despite the long-standing tension, Kelvyn Boy said he has since been attempting to mend their relationship.

“Left to me alone, we should just quash the issues and be cool, I don’t even remember what led to the fight,” he said in an interview on Hitz FM.

In spite of multiple attempts to initiate a conversation, Kelvyn Boy disclosed Stonebwoy hasn’t shown readiness for reconciliation.

However, Kelvyn Boy remains hopeful their relationship would be mended.

Kelvyn Boy, a former protege of Stonebwoy, parted ways with the record label due to irreconcilable internal issues.

The two artists enjoyed success with several collaborations including ‘Dede’, ‘Na You’, ‘Kpoo Keke’, ‘Catch A Vibe’, before Kelvyn Boy’s exit.

Following his departure from Burniton Music Group, Stonebwoy’s manager, Blakk Cedi, and fellow signee OV also left the label and teamed up with Kelvyn Boy, a move that was translated as a betrayal.

It remains unclear why Kelvyn Boy is pushing for reconciliation now, but the singer continues to express his willingness to mend their relationship.

According to him, he has stopped smoking after many years of patronising the drug for recreational purposes.

He explained that, although most Ghanaians think smokers are rowdy in nature, they can be some of the nicest and cleanest of people he has met.

Kelvyn Boy said though some of the top musicians in Ghana are smokers, it is not a good practice for the youth to emulate.

In an earlier Tweet, the singer slammed Mr Okraku-Mantey for going off the radar since he became a Deputy Minister.

He tweeted: “Ok so now to Creative Arts. Where Mark Okraku-Mantey dey? Since he became Dep. Minister for our space, he’s grown awfully silent. For an outspoken, extrovert like Mark, I’m a bit surprised. What really dey go on?!”

But a fan tried defending Mark by replying, “Kelvynboy, he is a deputy minister and he can’t do anything. Even if he wants to bring up something to help the creative industry, it’ll have to go through channels first. What if they disagree? Deputy ministers don’t really do any work.”

But Kelvyn Boy in reply wrote: “He should have turned down the offer if he knew he couldn’t do anything in that position. Also, why do Ghanaian hate Bawumia so much if he’s the deputy and not doing anything?”

Formerly signed to dancehall musician Stonebwoy‘s Burniton Music Group label before his exit in 2019, Kelvyn Boy said music has always been a “deadly business”.

Mohbad was bullied and allegedly beaten on several occasions when he decided to leave Naira Marley’s record label. Until his demise, he was captured in many videos telling Nigerians how he was being bullied, adding that, “if anything happens to me, you should know it’s Naira Marley.”

His death over the weekend has sparked conversations in Nigeria with many calling for the head of Naira Marley and some of his associates who are allegedly out of the country.

Reacting to this, Kelvyn Boy said music has become a deadly venture for budding musicians, especially when one of Stonebwoy’s bodyguards allegedly tried to beat him on sight at Ashaiman, when he visited the area for an event.

Talking about his feud with Stonebwoy after he “misconducted” himself, Kelvyn Boy said “it always starts with this useless beef.”

He further advised industry players to refrain from putting musicians against each other and rather preach peace.

He wrote on X social media app: “Music has always been a deadly business! Makes no sense Chale…and it always starts with this useless beef. We’re only trying to make a living out of what we love. It shouldn’t be that deep bro. Fill the game with love now❗️”

According to him, such comparisons are not only healthy but also essential for growth in the industry.

In a interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Kelvyn Boy said the comparisons pushes musicians to give off their best.

“I still feel good when I hear these comparisons. If you compare two things, that is where you see the mistakes” ‘Down Flat’ hitmaker said.

Kelvyn Boy indicated that, Ghana music industry has grown and many young artists are getting international recognition.

He cited rising stars like Black Sherif and Olive The Boy as examples of growth in the industry.

“Some time ago, young people could not make it big like they do now in Ghana. We just need a positive mindset.” Kelvyn Boy stressed.

He charged colleague musicians to create authentic music which will resonate with the masses.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the singer showered praises on his writing skills stating that he is blessed with the gift of churning out good songs in minutes.

According to him, recording ‘Down Flat’ was not planned.

“Sometimes I don’t know how I do it. Down Flat was recorded in 25 minutes. It sometimes sounds like I planned the whole recording.”

The award-winning singer narrated that he put together harmonies the moment he heard the beat and then put a few words together birthing the hit track.

“When I heard the beat at home, I started humming the melodies. The first verse just came first. The second verse came later because I was trying to find a different style for it.”

Kelvyn Boy’s ‘Down Flat’ song chalked some success when it was released in 2022.

The song made its way to Billboard’s Top 50 Afrobeats Songs Chart with other huge afrobeats stars like Wizkid, Tems, Davido, Fireboy DML, and a host of many others.

It also became a worldwide hit; topping trends on TikTok, and other social media platforms.

Kelvyn Boy later released the remix of what he calls his biggest song ever. The remix featured Nigerian star, Tekno and Jamaican musician Stefflon Don.

This is because he thinks Afrobeat music originated from the Ghanaian genre, Highlife.

The 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) nominee is, therefore, content with his nomination for the Best Highlife Song category.

The award, if won, will cement his claim to be the Afrobeat king in Ghana.

The ‘Down Flat’ hitmaker said: “Yeah. I’m a highlife artiste too. You can’t be an Afrobeat artiste and not know how to do highlife. It’s part of the fundamentals,” he said.

The singer and songwriter also revealed that he is very content with his nominations and is unfazed by the fact that he could not make the cut for the VGMA23 Artiste of the Year category.

The Afrobeat musician further stated that there have been a number of artistes who have won the coveted prize, but have failed to make it reflect in their music career.

Kelvyn Boy added that he is constantly producing good songs that appeal to the masses and that he crowns himself artiste of his year.

“I think it is enough. Artiste of the year… I have seen a lot of artistes of the year who couldn’t really take it that far. I don’t have to be artiste of the year to be artiste of my year. So I’m not bothered,” he said.

Known for a number of hit songs, the ‘Ginger’ hitmaker revealed that he adapted his skills from his dad, saying he never learned how to sing while growing up.

He emphasised the fact that he is not focusing on creating competition in the music industry, instead he looks forward to making more good music that people can relate to and enjoy.

In his latest interview on Joy Prime, the musician said he took a short hiatus to take care of personal needs because “I can’t always be in their faces”.

He explained that the dynamics in the music industry have changed to the extent that he no longer worries about playing many shows to make money.

According to the Mea hitmaker, music lovers have changed the dynamics to which they listen to music, thus, they stream and consume more than before.

Speaking to his colleagues, he asked them to position their crafts in a space where they will generate revenue even when they are not active in the music sphere.

“If dey sleep sef I dey get money. That is how it’s supposed to be. I don’t have to be in their faces before you know I am getting there. I am beginning to move right. If you do that, you don’t need 10 shows to be okay. You don’t need to come here all the time, otherwise, it won’t make sense to the people [SIC].”

With the music industry, Kelvyn Boy said the narratives are changing when it comes to the latest songs being churned in the system.

“A lot of things have changed, how they consumed the music and how to get attention has changed. I am hearing a lot of beautiful songs, it’s not like before when any song can blow.

“Now songs don’t just blow due to hype. If I hear the songs that blow, I feel like we are getting there [SIC],” he told the host, KMJ.

The Down Flat crooner has prepared for his Black Star Concert, the first edition, slated for 26^th December at the Silver Star Tower at Airport.

He has promised to give his fans an unforgettable experience with live band performance of all his songs alongside the ‘Black Star band’.

“I respectfully invite all my fans to my debut show dubbed ‘Black Star Concert’. Come listen to authentic live band performances from me.”

Speaking on Adom FM Ofie Kwanso, he emphasized that the Afrobeats genre is the future of music.

“The Afrobeats genre is the future because recently most young artistes do it.

“With the music thing, I will be here forever. Music is something I will do till my last breath because that is the only thing I can do best.”

Other artistes expected to perform alongside Kelvynboy are Efya, Camidoh, Joey B, Darkovibes, Fameye, Mr. Drew, Quamina MP, Small God, Twitch 4eva and Ghetto Boy.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he commented on the long-standing issue with Stonebwoy, saying he still loves and considers him as his godfather and gives him all the respect.

“Stonebwoy is my Godfather, so whatever you are going to say please say it well.”

He also added that he and Stonebwoy will eventually rekindle their relationship.

“We will come back together but it won’t be now, because it was God who brought us together so he will be the same person to bring us back,” he said.

He added that he loves his godfather, but he won’t come out to say it because it might sound fake.

“If I love Stonebwoy, it will be in my heart, because if I come out to say it, it will sound fake, so I would rather keep it in my heart.”

In 2019, Stonebwoy parted ways with his former manager, Blakk Cedi, and his two signees: Kelvyn Boy and OV.

The boss of Burniton Music and his mentee Kelvyn Boy were reported to have had misunderstandings that led to their breakup.

The two have since not seen eye-to-eye, and are currently conquering the world with their music in their little ways.

According to him, smoking is essential to his mental stability adding that, contrary to the fact that smoking can make one mad, his case is the other way around.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Monday, Kelvyn Boy said that “for real, I smoke. You see the way people think that if you smoke, you go mad? Me, if I don’t smoke, I will go mad.”

The ‘Visa’ hitmaker added that he does not like to hide that part of him or create a false personality for the general public.

“I like to stay real, and I feel like this thing I do is my life, it’s my lifestyle too,” Kelvyn Boy said.

Meanwhile, Kelvyn Boy is currently promoting the remix of his hit song ‘Down Flat’. He revealed that his life, career and finances have been impacted positively following the release of the song.

He told Andy Dosty on the show that he has been able to buy himself a car and plots of land.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Kelvyn Boy said that his finances have improved noting that he has been able to buy himself a car and plots of land.

“Downflat changed my life. I am cashing in and out…I feel like it has moved me, it changed my life,” he stated.

Careerwise, Kelvynboy noted that the song has also opened many doors for his career, especially during his concert beyond the borders of Ghana.

“I was at the offices of Trace and I also went to the BBC. It wasn’t part of the plan because I went for a tour, and didn’t go for promotion but it’s the song. They know about the song and they want to see the person (behind it),” he said.

Kelvyn Boy added that he also had the privilege to meet and work with some big artistes in Europe while on tour.

Kelvyn Boy released ‘Down Flat’ in January to rave reviews. The song later began trending on TikTok after one dancer curated a choreography for it. This took the song to new levels. 

On Tuesday, March 29, when Billboard launched its very own Afrobeats Songs Chart, Down Flat was one of the two Ghanaian songs that made it to the chart.

“Down Flat’ debuted on the chart at number 22. 

Kelvyn Boy travelled to Nigeria to promote the song. After one of his interviews, he performed a live version on Glitch Africa.

In an interview in April 2022, Kelvyn Boy said he was pleasantly surprised at the rate at which his latest single, ‘Down Flat’, has taken the internet by storm.

Speaking to Joy Prime’s Ibrahim Ben Bako, he revealed that he spent less than 20 minutes composing the song; adding that it is the fastest song he has ever written.

Kelvyn Boy stated that although he always envisions success for all the songs he writes, this is the one that has taken a life of its own.

“Down Flat was made in less than like 20 minutes, that is my fastest song. I think the song came from above and it’s doing its thing, because the budget for the video, the energy, when we started promoting it was low,” he said.

The musician, presently signed under the global African-American owned record label, Def Jam Records, based in the USA, dropped the jam to motivate music lovers against all odds.

“Make you no dey form minimal’ part of the hook resounds and breathes an air of freshness, hope and independence in life.

Fans have since lauded the musician for his style of song after he inked the deal with Def Jam Recordings.

This will be his second single under the umbrella after his first, Therapy, gained momentum across the streaming platforms.

Interestingly, Stonebwoy’s former protégé, Kelvyn Boy has also dropped the remix of his hit song, Down Flat, featuring Nigerian producer and musician Tekno including British rapper and singer, Stefflon Don.

The song that made a debut on the Billboard Charts in many categories has finally been awakened with fresh verses and melodies apt to project its mileage in the coming weeks.

Kelvyn Boy, after his departure from Stonebwoy’s record label, has put in lots of work to cement his musical prowess.

Tagged as the Afrobeat’s badman, the soothing singer has been poised to fly beyond the horizon.

When the host Andy Dosty queried Stonebwoy about letting sleeping dogs lie, the Therapy hitmaker decided to reply in a proverb.

“I don’t want to say it. People know where they climb from and where they descend. Don’t let the in between fool you. Let the wise be wise. But in the process be careful, don’t be fooled,” Stonebwoy responded.

The issue between Kelvyn Boy and the Bhimnation boss, Stonebwoy, dates back to when the former was signed to the dancehall musician’s record label.

In 2019, Stonebwoy parted ways with his former manager Blakk Cedi, and his two signees Kelvyn Boy and O.V.

Kelvyn Boy was ejected from the label with an official statement following series of interviews that proved friction had set into their camp.

Meanwhile, Kelvyn Boy also disclosed he paid for most of his music videos when he was signed to Stonebwoy’s label, with subsequent statements warning Stonebwoy to stop speaking ill of his brand.

The boss of Burniton Music and his mentee Kelvyn Boy were reported to have had quarrels leading to their split.

Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM, the ‘Mia’ hitmaker said that his banter with Stonebwoy increased his popularity and created opportunities for him.

The song, with over 2.1 million views on YouTube, has been doing wonders ever since its release on March 31, 2022. It has topped Apple Music Charts in Ghana, Nigeria and even Gambia – it has also been trending number one in over 30 countries on Audiomack.

The Kwaku the Traveller song is also the most sought-after song on global music platform, Shazam, where many music lovers are looking for who sang the song – activating many challenges on social media, especially, TikTok and Instagram.

Black Sherif’s Second Sermon remix with Burna Boy seems to be locked in every chart. The song is currently slated at number 13, with the tendency to climb up more even though it has lasted since last year.

Fast-rising musician and Lynx entertainment signee Lasmid comes through at number 14 with Sika featuring his label senior Kuami Eugene.

Tema-based rapper Kwesi Arthur is still visible on the chart with his Celebrate song featuring Teni. Since the song came out last year, it is still a jam for many.

After performing at Davido’s 02 concert, Darko Vibes stays at number 8 in the Adom FM music chart list with his Je M’appelle song ft Davido.

Lynx’s Entertainment signee Kidi took the number 9 spot with his Mon Bebe song which is massively getting the numbers on many streaming platforms.

In just two weeks, Medikal and Shatta Wale’s Stubborn Academy song has gotten over 560k views on YouTube. On Adom FM chart show, the song landed them on the number 10 position.

Tema-based musician Nanky took the number 11 slot with his Cloud 9 song.

Obaapa Christy’s The Glory gospel song got the number 12 position this week. The controversy surrounding the budget of the video got many reaching out YouTube to check out the visuals. According to Obaapa Christy she spent over $40,000 for the video shoot.

The singer has been in the news for the wrong reasons after he was remanded in police custody for allegedly assaulting a lady he has been in a relationship with for years.

The artiste, born Kelvyn Brown, was accused of stamping on the lady’s ribs and hitting her back and right hand with an iron rod several times.

Soon after he was granted abridgement of time by the Adentan Circuit Court on Wednesday, February 23, he took to his social media pages to make an announcement of him being in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, it is obvious the singer has visited Nigeria to further promote his new Down Flat song that is making waves across the continent.

However, JoyNews sources reveal that lawyers put in a bail application on Kelvyn Boy’s behalf, leading to the hearing of the case yesterday, February 22 at the Adentan Circuit Court.

Eventually, the court, presided over by Sedinam Awo Balokah, granted the ‘Down Flat’ hitmaker a bail to the tune of ¢200,000 with two sureties.

Also, the case has been adjourned to Friday, March 18, 2022.

The case against Kelvyn Boy

Kelvyn Boy was remanded into police custody on February 22, by an Adentan Circuit Court for allegedly assaulting the lady he has been in a relationship with for years.

The musician is alleged to have stamped on her ribs and used an iron rod to hit her back and right-hand several times.

Prosecuting Chief Superintendent of Police Patience Mario said the complainant, Deborah Kponyi, is a trader who has been in a relationship with Kelvyn Boy for more than 10 years. They share two daughters.

The prosecution said the “relationship has been full of abuse.” He said the accused and the complainant used to stay together but the accused packed and left the house to a new place.

He said one of their children fell sick and needed medical attention, so the complainant contacted the savings and loan company where they saved money but was told the account was empty.

The prosecution said the complainant tried to reach the accused to inform him of the need to take the sick daughter to a hospital for medical attention to no avail.

The prosecution said fortunately, she saw the accused’s vehicle passing, so, she followed the car. But, the complainant later realised that it was a lady who was driving.

It said the complainant approached the lady to ask the whereabouts of the accused.

The said lady called the accused who came down from a two-storey building and allegedly attacked the complainant pushed her down before stamping her ribs.

The prosecution said the accused allegedly pushed the complainant out of the house and used an iron rod to hit her back and right-hand several times until she was rescued by a motorbike rider who had taken her to the said building.

He said a few minutes later, one Kelvin, a worker at the complainant’s shop called to inform her that the accused had allegedly come to the shop and made away with her speaker, Nasco 32 inch TV set and two chairs valued at ¢5,500.

The latest to enjoy the Afro-Highlife tune were King Promise and Nigeria’s Wizkid aka Big Wiz.

Interestingly, the part of Wizkid comes as a surprise to many as Kelvyn Boy has faced heavy criticisms from the past. People have projected him as “copying Wizkid’s style.”

But the new video will possibly put to bed many rumours that have since gone viral on social media.

Kelvyn Boy, after chancing on the video, posted it on his Instagram page with the caption: 5STAR X BIGWIZ ?.

The singer has also given a low down on how he’s paid attention to his ‘unhealthy’ lifestyle that was getting him to bloat.

In an interview with Adom TV‘s Maame Boat on Badwam Ahosepe, the “Down Flat” hitmaker said he had to take off the dreadlocks for no special reason.

He explained that he woke up one day feeling the desire to take off the dreads and subsequently got a pair of scissors to cut them off.

According to the Blakk Arm Entertainment-signed artiste, he discussed it with his manager, Blakk Cedi, who claimed he had no issues with it.

Talking about his sudden weight loss, Kelvyn Boy said he disciplined himself by quitting the habit of eating late into the night because he was getting fat.

After taking off the dreadlocks, Kelvyn Boy said some of his fans have expressed disappointment whiles others have praised him for the action.

In 2019, Stonebwoy parted ways with his former manager; Blakk Cedi, and his two signees: Kelvyn Boy and OV.

The boss of Burniton Music and his ex-protégé Kelvyn Boy were reported to have had misunderstandings that led to their break-up. The two have since not seen eye to eye and are currently conquering the world with their music in their own little ways.

However, the Blakk Arm Entertainment signee says he appreciates Stonebwoy’s support at the beginning of his career.

“I will plead with my fans and everyone not to speak ill about Stonebwoy and I, please. He put me on and I will always appreciate it. The fact that issue came up between us doesn’t mean people can type whatever they want.”

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he mentioned that Nigerian music should be welcomed.

“They tap all the time and I feel like we are now tapping as well instead of competing,” he added.

According to the ‘Toffee’ singer, Ghanaian music has chalked success, hence musicians must appreciate their efforts in making music brewed in Ghana one of Africa’s pride.

“I don’t believe in competing. This is not the right time to complain. We want to be number one, while we know that Nigerians currently hold that spot. We should be okay with being number two and work properly on it.”

Kelvyn Boy has released a new song titled Down Flat which is fast making waves in the music scene.

The singer is a strong Afrobeat advocate who believes that Ghanaians need to accept the genre since it gives Ghana the global recognition it deserves with regards to music.

He told Andy Dosty that his new song, ‘Down Flat’, is drawing a lot of attention from Afrobeat giants in Nigeria.

According to Stonebwoy, he introduced Kelvyn Boy to the world and that is what matters most to him.

I mean I helped him and broke him to the world on the topmost level and which I think he should be running with and I think that is what he is doing… that’s what really matters to me honestly, he said.

When he was asked if Kelvyn Boy called him on his birthday earlier, Stonebwoy plainly said, I am not sure he called me.

Kelvyn Boy was dropped from Burniton Music Group in 2019 after spending many years with Stonebwoy.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy is currently promoting his upcoming virtual concert which is aimed at celebrating one year anniversary of his Anloga Junction album at Bayview Village on May 22.

Kelvyn Boy made these comments while responding to speculations that his album failed to gain maximum attention due to his issues with his former boss.

When he was queried about his current relationship with Stonebwoy, Kelvyn Boy said:

“If I love Stonebwoy, it should still be in my heart, if he loves me it should still be in his heart, I would rather it stays in my heart that’s why I cleaned the tattoo, I don’t talk about it but it’s because you asked, these days I’m very honest and real, that’s why I cleared it, I would prefer it’s in my heart because it doesn’t really matter now.”

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he said he considers endorsing political parties as he does any other product endorsement – business.

The ‘Mea’ hitmaker, who revealed that he has never voted, said that he doesn’t have enough reason to choose one party over another, as such, his relationship with any party that wants his endorsement will be solely contractual and from the business standpoint.

His endorsement, however, does not equal support for the party, Kelvyn Boy added.

Kelvyn Boy told Mercury Quaye, host of the show, that he does not identify with any political party because he does not know enough about any of their policies to make an informed decision.

His comment comes after two artistes Sarkodie and Samini made their support for the incumbent government and its party known on Monday, November 2.

Samini tweeted his support, writing he was choosing to vote for a leader he believes has a “hopeful” future for the country.

Sarkodie also released his new song ‘Happy Day’ featuring Kuami Eugene alluding to Akufo-Addo’s achievements and calling for another term for him as President.

After receiving backlash, Sarkodie tweeted that his statements did not mean he was endorsing the New Patriotic Party.

It is unclear what or who caused them to mend their relationship but the photo shows the two talented artistes were on set shooting what appears to be a music video.

Meanwhile, fans are happy that they have resolved their feud.

The union, which said the attack was a direct threat to the safety of Kelvyn Boy, called on the management of both Stonebwoy and Kelvyn Boy to cease fire and settle things amicably.

The Director of Communication and Special Projects at MUSIGA, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey (Daddy Bosco), in an interview with Beatwaves, bemoaned the escalation of physical attacks and indiscipline among Ghanaian artistes, especially, dancehall artistes.

According to him, a lot of people, including music fans, see Ghanaian artistes as role models so they need to discipline themselves when they attend social events.

He, therefore, advised Kelvyn Boy to desist from throwing jabs at Stonebwoy, whom he once worked with.

Daddy Bosco called on both parties (Stonebwoy and Kelvyn Boy) to sit down and resolve the misunderstanding between them to avoid another brawl in future.

On his part, the president of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons, warned that any member of the union who engages in any activity that seeks to undermine the image of the union would be dealt with.

“Any member of MUSIGA who misbehaves will be referred to the disciplinary and arbitration committee and they will be dealt with according to our constitution. Afterward, they will be referred to our National Executive Council, who will then decide on which type of sanction,” he declared.

The alleged leader, identified as Keli, has explained that his actions were justifiable as Kelvyn Boy’s own comments made some time ago warranted the attack.

As readers may recall, Kelvyn Boy, when his ‘beef’ with Stonebwoy first sparked, refused to perform at the latter’s yearly ‘Ashaiman to the World’ event.

He is also alleged to have said he will rather perform for GHS 1 at a non-recognised event than waste a single sweat at the event’s stage.

The comment, he said, is what has angered the thugs when they saw him in their ‘territory’ after he had publicly desecrated the community.

Keli said he was ready to face the laws of Ghana for his actions, asking if Kelvyn Boy appeased the land before agreeing to perform at Ashaiman.

Kelvyn Boy was attacked in Ashaiman when he had gone there to perform at the launch of Electroland Ghana’s new branch at Ashaiman.

Samini, who groomed both men, is having a hard time dissecting the sudden enmity between the former godfather and son who have made their mark in Ghana’s music industry.

He encouraged both men to shield the arrow of negativity that is bound to disrupt their greatness, while addressing their issues yet devoid of violence.

In his lengthy Instagram post, he addressed Kelvyn Boy’s allegation that Stonebwoy instigated his attack, explaining when one finger points at a ‘bad guy’, the rest of the fingers point back at the accuser.

The singer was attacked on his way to bless the launch of the new Electroland shop with his presence.

Upon reaching the area, he was greeted by a flock of residents who questioned him for trespassing in their land.

Ignoring the cameras and officials in the shop, the mob proceeded to attack the “Yawa No Dey” hitmaker when every effort to calm the situation failed.

A terrified Kelvyn Boy could only find solace in the shade provided by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 3 Music Awards, Sadiq, who was trying to ward off the determined mob.

Kelvyn Boy, after finding his way out of the territory rushed to Twitter to rant, targeting his shade at the perpetrator and invisible leader of the thugs.

Kelvyn Boy has disclosed that many Ghanaian artistes usually drop the music genres they are known for and pick up Afrobeats when abroad.

According to him, these artistes, knowing Afrobeats is the brand that sells abroad, try to cash in.

“I know a lot of big artistes who are rappers but when they go out of Ghana they say they do Afrobeats or Afro Dancehall. I’ve heard Sarkodie say he is an Afrobeats artiste outside Ghana,” the ‘Mea’ hitmaker told Jay Foley on Prime Morning on Joy prime, Wednesday.

However, when these artistes come back to Ghana they pick the genres they are known for and drop the Afrobeats, Kelvyn Boy said.

“But I will say it one-millionth time, we do Afrobeats. That’s what we do now, that’s what we’ve been doing from time we didn’t realise. Its Afrobeats now, one genre,” he said.

In an interview with the press at Golden Tulip Hotel on Friday, the ‘Bawasaba’ hitmaker said although Kelvyn Boy has been jabbing him indirectly, he chooses to pay no heed to him.

“We all see it clear, I get tweets that ridicule and insult me. I have got many messages and I don’t show them to anyone. If I give attention to them I will drop to a level where Ghanaians will not be happy about,” Stonebwoy noted.

Stonebwoy made this assertion when he was advising top musicians and industry players who are interested in signing emerging artistes onto their record label.

The Bhimnation boss groomed Kelvyn Boy before he attained the limelight but unfortunately the latter was kicked out of the label for reasons best known to them.

According to Stonebwoy, Kelvyn Boy has since been jabbing him on many platforms and he wouldn’t reply because he doesn’t have the time.

Stonebwoy mentioned Kelvyn Boy’s Yawa No Dey song with rapper M.anifest as one of the tunes he believes was directed at him.

“I will blame it on Ghanaian acts not fixing things before bringing people on musically. Personally, there is always attitude. I think Ghanaians know everything but keep quiet and stare like they do not.

“We are bigger than lots of things and we have to move on. But lets not stay blind to the clear picture and do the needful.

“This particular person is someone who is being produced and managed by my former manager. Lets keep somethings on the clean, I get songs that M.anifest my brother feature [sic] and he’s throwing shades and all.

“I mean, I am the captain of one of the biggest beefs in this country so these ones are not close,” Stonebwoy said.

He lauded the Chief Executive Officer of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah for his ability to control artistes singed under his record label.

“This is an advice to people who think they are on top of the ladder and might want to sign another artistes. I think it’s time we fix structures that seem to work. I admire lynx entertainment to an extent. They seem to always have that record of working with acts and doing it right to an extent, but even that they don’t have it easy, there is an issue with exit and the rest,” he said.

Like language, values, ideals, beliefs, race, gender, or sexual orientation are of no consequence when it comes to music.

It is for these reasons that rapper M.anifest is hoping to blur the lines once once more at the second edition of his flagship concert, ‘Manifestivities’.

The event, which has become arguably one of the most anticipated and biggest concerts in Ghana, is set to take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena this Sunday, December 22.

The 2018 ‘Manifestivities’ concert saw crowd-moving performance from Worlasi, Burna Boy, Kwesi Arthur, Simi, DJ Nyce and Sarkodie who pulled a surprise on M.anifest. 

The two artistes performed together for the first time after their hottest ‘beef’ songs godMC and Kanta.

This year’s event will feature some familiar names from last year. Nigeria’s Adekunle Gold, Kelyvn Boy, Strongman and Cina Soul are some of the new names that have been added to the bill.

M.anifest is also expected to perform some of his songs from his new album The Gamble including Big Mad and Cucaracha.

Stonebwoy, known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, revealed that it was not his intent to disrespect anybody; neither was he downplaying the efforts of another artiste.

”I was never ever referring to Kelvynboy when I made those statements. My comments started from where I said we have to protect state assets to where I made that 40 years proclamation, but people chose to pick it from the angle they wanted.

“When I said it may take another 40 years to find our likes, it goes beyond the names I mentioned; we can have better artistes if only we can protect, harness and grow,” he said.

Stonebwoy, during his performance paused and said, “it will take another 40 years to find me, Sarkodie and Shatta in this music industry; we be national assets, if you like don’t protect, if you like protect. Biggups to Samini the Godfather,  and the upcoming artistes wey dem nor dey respect, them for sit well.”

To him, the current feud emanating from his comments is “sad and petty”, resulting from something absolutely unnecessary.

Commenting on Kelvynboy’s shade on Accra –based Starr FM, the award-winning artiste claimed he is unhurt by his former signee’s attitude.

“I’m not hurt but rather moving on from that.  I’ve been facing hurdles and I’m used to them because I know after every hurdle comes a next level; That is how I have structured myself,” he said.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Work and Happiness show, monitored by Adomonline.com, the ‘Mea’ hitmaker said though he had exited his former boss’s Burniton Music Group label, it won’t stop him from mounting platforms with him.

Kelvyn Boy, who is now an independent artiste, added that, he doesn’t see anything wrong with it because he is solely focused on doing music and that is what matters.

The 5th edition of ‘Ashaiman to the World’ is expected to take place on November 30 at the Saka Saka Park in Ashaiman.

Stonebwoy is expected to attract some of the creme de la cremes in Ghana’s music fraternity.

Top musicians such as Sarkodie, Samini, R2Bees, Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, Yaa Pono, Jupitar, Kwesi Arthur, Wendy Shay and King Promise among others would grace the occasion.

After exiting Stonebwoy’s label, many thought the musician would be quick to ink a deal with a record label but he said, “I am an independent artiste,” in an interview on Adom FM’s Work and Happiness show with Black I.

According to the ‘Mea’ hitmaker, he is all about his works now but has people like Stonebwoy’s former producer, Blakk Cedi among others putting him on the map.

Kelvyn Boy is currently promoting his new song dubbed ‘Yawa No Dey.’

The matter generated a lot of discussion with some industry players suggesting the two could work through their issues but for Kelvyn Boy’s fans and music lovers in general, the big worry was how he was going to survive since Stonebwoy had played a big role in bringing him into the limelight.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz recently, Kelvyn Boy assured everyone that he was a survivor and he was going to be fine. “I will always be grateful for the exposure Stonebwoy gave me but without Stonebwoy, I will survive.

“I have been around for a decade playing with bands such as the Mega Star Band, OBY Band, Soul Nice Band, singing from one venue to the other.

“Back in the day, I could perform for like six hours at parties or at funeral grounds just to make a living. I know the hustling life and being on my own now is no big deal,” he said.

According to him, the God he served, who provided for him when he was nobody, would still provide for him.

On whether he had been approached by any record label yet, Kelvyn Boy, who is planning to release a new single, Yawa No Dey, in December, said yes but he was being careful about who to work with.

“From the experiences I had with my former record label, I am now very careful who to deal with. I have had a couple of record labels promising heaven and earth but I am still not convinced.

“I would prefer to work with the few people around me than to sign on with a new record label which might restrict my movements,” he said.

Known for songs including Toffee, Coffee, Afrobeats, Mea, Loko, Ginger, Pray, Nana Ama, My Story, Anything, Catch the Vibe, No War, Woara and Holiday, Kelvyn Boy said he was grateful that Ghanaians had accepted his Mea song.

“It is amazing the huge response I get anytime I perform Mea. The excitement is something else when I see the fans sing it word for word,” he added.

About his future plans, Kelvyn Boy, who claims he has a lot of gigs this Christmas, said he had plans on releasing an EP soon.

“Apart from my EP, there are a great number of veteran musicians I will be working with.

“I always take inspiration from these old musicians and I am already in touch with some of them for a wicked collaboration,” he said.

According to him, he’s done nothing wrong to be tagged as an ungrateful artiste among other denigrating accolades attributed to him by the renowned Dancehall artiste.

He indicated that after Stonebwoy spoke on Hitz FM, he sent him a text to caution him against tarnishing his image because he (Stonebwoy) knows he’s one of the most loyal people in the family.

He said his former boss did not even know where he lived.

Kelvyn Boy mentioned that till date he is not aware of what exactly he did that warranted the ungrateful tag because everything he’s done since he was signed had been towards the growth of the Bhim Nation family.

Kelvyn Boy was sacked from Bhim Nation after the Record Label did an audit this month.

The revelation follows his dismissal from the camp. According to the Chief Executive Officer, Stonebwoy, they found no reason to extend his contract after an audit of his conduct.

But, Kelvyn Boy said he funded 80% of his videos and that funding his videos was to show appreciation to the label and to prove his hard work.

“I funded 80%/of my videos and it always came with Bhim Nation tag but it doesn’t matter because I felt Stonebwoy had helped me and the rest was me,” he said.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s DayBreak Hitz, Kelvyn Boy said he has no reason to be ungrateful to Stonebwoy.

“I don’t know which other way I could have been grateful because I served him all these years coupled with backing here and there but my record label didn’t even know where I lived,” he said.

Speaking on why he stopped backing Stonebwoy, he added “it happened naturally because at a point, I realised I had to be myself and work harder in order not to be lazy because I have been signed.”
