According to her, the movie producer is passionate about craft and helps project great ideas and pitches.

Speaking with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, she refuted claims about Shirley being hard stating she is just determined.

“She doesn’t work with people that are disinterested in the craft. She’s quite professional and very passionate so if you don’t come in with that same attitude, then she fails as a director as well. So she needs all of us to come together with our A game.”

“If you want to call that hard, then she knows what she wants. She’s a perfectionist and she would not compromise on her perfection. So she will tell you the only thing you have to do as an actor is know your lines and then when you come, you leave the rest for the director”, she said on Hitz FM.

She also highlighted scenarios where the producer is likely to get frustrated because of crew’s inactiveness.

“If you don’t know your lines, then why are you even there? Cause you only have one job and so when you don’t do it, it frustrates her because then she’s not able to also direct you properly”, she added.

She further related Shirley’s set to that of a teacher-student engagement which always had great impact on their projects.

“Anytime you’re on Shirley’s set, it’s almost like you’re back in school. Cause, every time I’m on a set, it doesn’t matter that the project, it feels like I’m just working with her for the first time because every project is different. She brings something new, something refreshing on every project”, she stated.

She also mentioned Shirley Frimpong Manso as one of the best individuals one could work with.

“If you are able to work together as a team and you know your lines, I think Shelly is one of the easiest people to work with”, she said.

The book, which is intended to unmask Yvonne’s true identity and unveil some shortcomings she encountered in the process of maturing, has rather invited diverse opinions on her lifestyle and her brand.

Social media has been inundated with comical responses, with a faction questioning the need for the tell-it-all book.

However, a few including Joselyn Dumas have backed Yvonne up, owing to their personal relationship and similar experiences.

It is Joselyn’s opinion that Yvonne Nelson is heavily misunderstood in the entertainment space, hence the need to set records straight with her explosive autobiography.

She explained that it is her colleague’s own way of letting people in on her life and it does not matter whether or not netizens agree with her.

“As entertainers, our lives are already out there and everyone studies our lives and have perception. Yvonne is heavily misunderstood; in fact all of us as entertainers are misunderstood. The book is to inspire other girls who might be going through similar stuff. I am happy she is bearing it all and speaking on behalf of all of us,” Joselyn told Doreen Avio in a sideline interview.

“No body can tell your story for you…if this is how she wants to tell her story, then fine,” a supportive Joselyn remarked.

In a post on Twitter, she revealed that since the Bill was passed on Tuesday, many people have begun withdrawing their monies from their mobile money accounts.

She explained that this singular action is setting the country back to a predominantly cash system.

“E-Levy will be the demise of digitisation. The charges are ridiculous!… What???” She wrote.

Her comments come after Parliament approved the controversial Electronic Transactions (E-Levy) Bill on Tuesday, March 29.

This decision was reached after the Consideration Stage was completed by a Majority-sided House on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

It was considered under a certificate of urgency.

The Bill was adopted at a reduced rate of 1.5% from the initial 1.75% amid a Minority walkout.

The tax, which has become a subject of debate among Ghanaians, is expected to rake in close to ¢6 billion in tax revenue for the country.

The Ghana Revenue Authority has already hinted that its structures have been revised and ready to ensure mobilisation of the income.

On March 31, President Akufo-Addo signed the E-levy Bill into law.

Meanwhile, Joselyn Dumas shared reactions from followers underneath her post.

Some agreed with her while others held the view that paying the levy would not have been such an issue if the people would be made aware of the revenue generated and what use it has been put.

Joselyn Dumas is not the only person who has expressed concern about the return to a cash system.

Prior to the passage of the Bill, actress Lydia Forson noted that the introduction of the levy will push the country’s digitisation plan, backwards.

She indicated that there is nothing good about the levy.

In a post on Twitter, she noted that citizens are already being taxed for “nearly everything”, but they are yet to witness the benefits.

Meanwhile, some celebrities have already reacted to the approval of the Bill.

In a tweet, comedian DKB reechoed some promises the NPP and President Akufo-Addo made to the Ghanaian public, including insisting that the country has money and the NPP could do better in managing it.

When the lockdown was extended Criss Waddle with the help of producer Hammer shared food to about 500 underprivileged people.

Edem

When the coronavirus first hit Ghana, rapper Edem was one of the first people who advocated for education on the virus to be done in local languages.

He took the lead by dropping a video about the coronavirus in Ewe his mother tongue. Edem, after a lockdown was imposed, held an ‘Anti Corona Concert’ to entertain fans who had to be in their respective homes all day.

In the third week of the lockdown, Edem fed 50 security personnel who were enforcing the lockdown breakfast. Later that week, he shared some money to fans on Twitter. In collaboration with FoodTech Limited, he also donated some items to the Lekma Hospital.

Sarkodie

Sarkodie may not be in the country now but that did not stop him from feeding some people in Tema while the lockdown was in place.

With the help of his team, the ‘Lucky’ hitmaker donated some foodstuffs to residents of Tema. The Sarkcess team did a door to door delivery while people in other areas also met them on the road for their share of items.

Sarkodie has also been entertaining fans by hosting a battle between DJ’s dubbed BehindTheHitz.

Medikal and Fella Makafui

Celebrity couple Medikal and Fella Makafui extended help to families who were having a hard time feeding themselves amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The couple announced, on their social media handle, that they had bought some sanitary products and food items for people who were cash strapped – hence having difficulty in getting these items for themselves.

They also added money to the wrapped items.

Sister Derby and Wanlov Kubolor

Singer Sister Derby and her brother musician Wanlov Kubolor with the help of some tailors produced some face masks to donate.

They made them from recycled second hand clothes.

Joselyn Dumas

Actress Joselyn Dumas has been engaging her fans in challenges to help entertain them while they are stuck in their homes.

But the actress on some occasions took a break from challenges to donate some money to her followers. These beneficiaries were selected randomly.

She made this statement after colleague actress Joselyn Dumas thought it right to transfer an undisclosed amount of money to her fans during the coronavirus lockdown.

According to her, it would have been better if she donated the money to folks such as indentured workers, widows and micro-scale workers who have been disenfranchised, among others.

She explained the kind gesture of Joselyn Dumas will rather encourage beggarly behaviours from fans.

She took to Twitter to announce that 50 of her followers will get mobile money alert from her. These 50, she said, will be chosen randomly.

On Monday, 10 of her fans became lucky recipient of the money.

The actress in a chat on Peace FM disclosed that she has expressed interest in Kumawood movies but nobody is giving her roles.

According to her, she has told Nana Ama McBrown several times that she wants to feature in any of the local movies but producers do not consider when planning their films. She made it clear that no producer from the Kumawood side has ever called her for her to even reject it.
