Speaking to Adom News, Director of Public Relations Maud Anima Quainoo stated that applicants with bleached skin, multiple body piercings, or visible tattoos will not be considered for recruitment.

She explained that these requirements are part of the Service’s standards and urged applicants to strictly adhere to the guidelines to avoid disappointment during the screening process.

Madam Quainoo also cautioned applicants against paying money to middlemen promising recruitment slots, stressing that such arrangements are ineffective.

According to her, the recruitment process is transparent and based solely on merit. She advised applicants to rely only on official GIS information and to report anyone attempting to extort money under the pretext of facilitating recruitment.

Ghana Immigration Service warns public against fake recruitment SMS https://www.adomonline.com/ghana-immigration-service-warns-public-against-fake-recruitment-sms/ Mon, 15 Dec 2025 15:12:09 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2610568 The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has cautioned the public about a fraudulent SMS circulating on social media, which falsely claims that applicants in the ongoing recruitment exercise have progressed to the next phase and must pay a fee.

In a press release dated December 15, 2025, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Immigration in charge of Public Affairs, Maud Anima Quainoo, the Service described the message as misleading. It clarified that neither GIS nor the Ministry of the Interior has announced the commencement of the next recruitment phase.

The statement noted that the application process remains open until the official deadline of December 19, 2025.

The Service urged applicants and the public to disregard the fake messages and avoid interacting with individuals or groups behind the scam. It emphasized that all official communication will come only through approved SMS alerts, official email addresses, phone numbers, or the C-SERP recruitment portal.

Applicants were also warned to be cautious of unauthorized “protocol” offers or other inducements related to the recruitment exercise.

Shocking as GIS protocol list from Office of the President pops up https://www.adomonline.com/shocking-as-gis-protocol-list-from-office-of-the-president-pops-up/ Tue, 05 Apr 2022 13:09:24 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2100574 It has emerged that the presidency is breathing on the necks of officials of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for protocol recruitment.

A document available to Adomonline.com, dated February 22, 2022, indicates about 521 people on the list allegedly signed by the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei Opare.

This comes after the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, last year gave clearance for 2,000 people to be recruited into the Immigration Service.

This means that in spite of the long queues by prospective recruits who followed due process, only a few might be lucky to fulfil their dream of serving their nation.

This revelation defeats the assertion by the Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery, that there is no protocol recruitment into the security service.

Below is the letter allegedly signed by Madam Frema Opare:
