The intervention, which includes heavily armed officers and armoured vehicles, is intended to restore calm and reinforce security in the affected communities where tensions have risen in recent days.

In a statement released on Wednesday, April 15, the police indicated that the team will operate alongside officers from the Northern Regional Police Command. Their focus will be on increased patrols, maintaining law and order, and preventing any further escalation of violence.

Authorities say the deployment comes with additional operational resources designed to strengthen rapid response efforts and boost police visibility across the area.

The move forms part of broader security measures aimed at stabilising the situation and reassuring residents as operations continue on the ground.
