Election 2024: NPP PC is no match for us – Ho Central NDC https://www.adomonline.com/election-2024-npp-pc-is-no-match-for-us-ho-central-ndc/ Wed, 17 Apr 2024 12:56:25 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2382147 The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications officer for Ho Central in the Volta Region, Sefadzi Agama has dismissed any notion of competition from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate, R.K Divine Bosson, in the December 7th polls.

He says Mr. Bosson is not a threat or a match to the NDC in the Ho Central Constituency.

In an interview with Adom News, the NDC communications officer expressed confidence that despite Bosson’s incumbency advantage as the current Municipal Chief Executive, it won’t sway the votes towards the NPP.

Instead, Mr. Agama firmly believes that the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, will secure a decisive victory in December.

He urged all eligible Ghanaians aged 18 and above to participate in the forthcoming limited registration, scheduled for next month.

Give me the mandate to change the prospects of Ho Central – Divine Bosson https://www.adomonline.com/give-me-the-mandate-to-change-the-prospects-of-ho-central-divine-bosson/ Thu, 04 Apr 2024 08:44:10 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2376933 The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central has implored electorates to give him the mandate to change the prospects of the constituency.

Divine Bosson said his achievements within the last two years as Chief Executive of the Ho Municipal Assembly identify him as the best candidate to represent the constituency in the Legislative and lead its development agenda.

Speaking at the annual Ngoyiyiza of the Chiefs and people of Ziavi Lume in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region, he urged the electorates to vote based on the competence of candidates and note on party lines.

“2024 should not be about NDC or NPP. It should be about who can deliver, and I know I can deliver as promised. The law mandates that 50% of Ministers should be Parliamentarians.

“So, you must know how to lobby and use the advantage of being a fellow parliamentarian to bring development projects to your constituency,” he said.

He added that he aims to restore the dignity and respect of traditional authorities by implementing a project that would have an economic impact on the chiefs to enhance their livelihoods.

This he, believes, would enable the chiefs to honestly critique the politicians and put them in check to contribute to building the Ghana they want, and earn the respect of their subjects.

He announced that the municipality has received a fair share of road projects under his watch, hoping the road networks would witness significant improvement before the end of his tenure.

Mr Bosson said that the contract for the construction of the Ziavi-Anfoeta road project had been abrogated and would be repackaged and awarded to a competent contractor.

He further indicated that he had hatched an idea of establishing a monkey sanctuary in Ziavi and developing the Adidi Waterfall at Klefe to boost the tourism potential of the municipality.

Increasing access to potable water sits at the core of Mr. Bosson’s development plan, as he said some 18 boreholes have been drilled, with the Ziavi Traditional Area receiving 3 out of them.

He shared the optimism of doing better than he did as MCE when given the node to represent the people of Ho Central in parliament, adding “I will do better just as Dr. Bawumia will perform more than any other President of Ghana ever had”.

Mr. Bosson donated 12 sets of solar streetlights and promised to support the furnishing of the Information Technology Communications Center for the community.

The Dufia of Ziavi-Lime, Togbe Adzoa Kodzo indicated that though he had learned that politicians are cunning, he would give Mr. Bosson the benefit of the doubt and rally his community to support his bid.

He, however, lamented that there is acrimony in the country due to current economic hardship and erratic power supply, and expressed his disappointment in the “self-seeking agenda of politicians”.

Ho Central NDC condemns Koku Anyidoho's arrest https://www.adomonline.com/ho-central-ndc-condemns-koku-anyidohos-arrest/ https://www.adomonline.com/ho-central-ndc-condemns-koku-anyidohos-arrest/#comments Thu, 29 Mar 2018 06:29:39 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=1034551 The Ho Central branch of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the arrest of the party’s deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho.
In a statement copied to Adomonline.com, the group described as unfortunate attempt by the Akufo-Addo government to frustrate the NDC.
“Koku’s statement at worst could be described as a means of unreservedly stating how he feels about the whole military agreement with the US”.
The Ho Central NDC as calling on government to as a matter of urgency release their kinsman or face their wrath.
Below is the full statement
PRESS STATEMENT BY THE HO CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON THE UNFORTUNATE ARREST OF THE DEPUTY GENERAL SECRETARY OF NDC
We of Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region have received with shock and dismay the arrest of Mr. Koku Anyidoho, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, who hails from the Constituency, for reasons of having made statements or comments described as treasonable. Koku’s statement at worst could be described as a means of unreservedly stating how he feels about the whole military agreement with the US.
The consequences of such agreements on the destiny of a nation can not be underestimated hence the need to act with caution and that includes raising up emotional interest in the citizenry which comrade Koku sought to do leading to the unfortunate over reaction by the government through the security forces
Our advice to the Nana Addo government is that, they must tread cautiously. In our current constitutional dispensation, freedom of speech is the right of every citizen. The expression of an opinion publicly on any matter cannot create any flimsy excuse for opponent authority to intimidate any citizen.
This barbaric and authoritarian reaction from the NPP govt. is a signal of its nervousness and consequent doom.We call on government to release Koku Anyidoho immediately from incarceration. He does not deserve any such treatment. We in the Ho Central Constituency declare our unflinching support for Koku.
We are therefore calling for the immediate release of our son,Koku Anyidoho unconditionally.
Signed
Constituency chairman
( Divine Ferg Afedo)
Secretary
(Stanley Nelvis Glate)
