During the interview, the Obaa hitmaker disclosed that anytime he records a good song that has the tendency to blow, he gets a strange hunch before the song gets released.

According to him, he starts to get sweaty, adding that, his palms also begin to sweat coupled with the fact that he becomes very uneasy.

MORE:

From experience, there is a certain spark you get during playback. Sometimes too the ideal thing for me is that my palm starts to sweat… I start to get very uneasy until I am able to get a sketch of it and it’s always a hit song.

It doesn’t always happen so when it happens, I get to know. When it’s not mine and it’s someone else’s there is also a similar feeling that I get. Especially the song, the vibe, and the delivery, he said.

Receiving an award for a hit song doesn’t make it the best song – Top music producer [Video] https://www.adomonline.com/receiving-an-award-for-a-hit-song-doesnt-make-it-the-best-song-top-music-producer-video/ Mon, 06 Sep 2021 12:30:16 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2010681 Music producer Zapp Mallet says the fact that a musician’s song is popular doesn’t make it the best song for the masses.

According to him, any musician can be rewarded for having the most popular song but after paying heed to technicalities, the song will be nothing to write home about.

He asked event organisers to rather award entertainers who deserve the honour than others who play the ‘trick game’ with fame.

Zapp Mallet made this claim in an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z over the weekend.

MORE:

Are we rewarding popularity, or technicality? At the end of the day, the popularity side outweighs the technical part… I’ve been on boards and I know about it.

The fact that your song is popular doesn’t make it the best song or excellent [than the others].  Every song can be a hit but not every hit can be a song… you could have a hit and have an award but it doesn’t mean that is the best song, he explained.

Getting a hit song is never a problem – Stonebwoy https://www.adomonline.com/getting-a-hit-song-is-never-a-problem-stonebwoy/ Thu, 14 Jan 2021 11:08:43 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1904663 Dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, says getting a hit song as a musician is never difficult but rather putting down critical strategies to make one’s song a hit is rather the issue.

According to him, many people want their songs to become the number one in the country but do not lay down procedures or essential measures that will go a long way to project their song.

Taking to his Snapchat account, Stonebwoy posted:

MORE:

Herrrr… the hit song no be the problem o, the problem is the strategy to make the hit song hit.

Per Stonebwoy’s assertion, a song can become a hit but will die out in no time if the musician isn’t creative enough to make the music circulate.

Stonebwoy had a successful year in 2020 where he ended the year with a collaboration with Davido on their Activate project.

The duo went ahead to set off a beach party dubbed Activate which was also the most talked-about show in the past year.

But reacting to those comments on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, both Hammer and Kaywa supported Sarkodie’s assertion that having a loyal fan base is what does the trick for “hit” songs.

According to Kaywa, aside the strength of the fan base, great production, sensational music videos and deep lyrics can also guarantee the blow up of a song.

“When you’re popular and you have a proper fan base it becomes a hit. Considering great records, it hasn’t been dependent on the artiste only but great production from the studio to music videos can give you a great hit. Even the instrumentation contributes. Sarkodie has seen a super way of getting hits…” Kaywa said.

On his part, Hammer thinks the first step to getting a hit song is to own a better instrumentation.

“70 per cent is the beat; the beat does the whole work. It gets your attention. A very bad song can be promoted to be a hit song…” he said.

According to Hammer, “you don’t need extensive knowledge to make it a hit song. Popularity of a song makes it a hit song.
