I’ll adopt Twi and Hausa as Ghana’s national language – Bernard Mornah

Aspiring flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, is pushing for the adoption of a Ghanaian language for sustainable national development.

He has promised to make the Twi and Hausa languages Ghana’s official national languages, with English as an option if elected President.

Speaking to Nana Jantuah on Nhyira FM’s Kruyimunsem show, the former PNC Chairman indicated that language has a direct correlation to development.

According to Mr. Mornah, countries like Japan, China, Korea and Russia have seen massive development as a result of using a national language.

He emphasized that no country in the world can develop without a national language, hence his decision to adopt a national language for Ghana.

Mr. Mornah is currently contesting with the party’s 2020 flagbearer, David Apasera for the flagbearership position.

He will be meeting party delegates in the Ashanti region as part of efforts to win the position as a flagbearer of the party.

Nigerian university translates physics, chemistry and maths textbooks into Hausa

Bayero University, Kano, has reportedly translated physics, chemistry, and mathematics textbooks into the Hausa language to aid learning.

A twitter user, with the name Muhd El-Bonga Ibrahim, has hailed the development as very good work, saying it will help those who find it difficult to speak English language, the country’s lingua franca.

He also urged that the same thing be done at the primary level.

Professor Liyu Mu’azu, who led the translation team, said that they translated eight textbooks in the field of science and technology.

Gimba Kakanda, a Nigerian writer, called the move a “welcome development, and a very effective way to domesticate science and technology in our society”.

A man is said to have turned into a cow to escape mob lynching when the youth in the town decided to beat him for coming from the north.

According to some youths in Ohanku Road, Aba, Abia State, an Hausa Man turned to a cow when he realized there out to teach him a lesson to serve as deterrent to other northerners in the state.

In the viral video, a voice can be heard saying ”one of them just turned into nama now and he is trying to run, we are pursuing it, we must kill it”
