Dr. Lartey was officially endorsed, along with other national party executives, during a congress held in Accra at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

This central congress brought together delegates from all 16 regions of Ghana.

The members unanimously acclaimed Dr. Daniel Augustus Lartey as the party’s flagbearer, a decision that was later confirmed by the Director of Elections at the Electoral Commission.

Additionally, Dr. Lartey Junior’s elder brother, Henry Lartey, the former flagbearer, was acclaimed as the party’s Chairman alongside other national executives.

Dr. Lartey, in his address, promised to enhance the party’s domestication policies if elected into office, with a particular focus on technology-driven agriculture.

He emphasized the importance of revitalizing agriculture, which he noted was once the backbone of Ghana’s economy.

The GCPP flagbearer pledged to provide farmers with the necessary tools to ensure that citizens can grow and sell what they produce from their land.

Citizen Ato Dadzie, the General Secretary of GCPP, voiced his disappointment with the government’s failure to effectively tackle illegal mining and the resultant destruction of forest reserves and water bodies.

He stated that, a GCPP-led government would have the solution to the environmental degradation caused by illegal mining, pointing out that the current fight against “galamsey” (illegal mining) has been politicized, hindering any meaningful progress.

Why Apostle Onyinah met Owusu Bempah – GPCC explains https://www.Adomonline.com/why-apostle-onyinah-met-owusu-bempah-gpcc-explains/ Tue, 04 Jan 2022 08:15:24 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2064211 The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has dismissed some claims made by the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah.

The prophet had claimed that the former Chairman of the GPCC, Apostle Opoku Onyinah, had consulted him for prophetic direction.

“A Pentecost pastor took me to his house to tell him about prophecies about himself but the same pastor, at a political conference, went to call out prophets and prophecies.

“Opoku Onyinah should be careful, you took me to your house to tell you about prophecies, you and Anyenim Boadu, what are you talking about. I would have exposed Opoku Onyinah but for my respect for Anyenim Boadu,” he said.

But the GPCC, in a two-page statement signed by its General Secretary, Rev Emmanuel Barrigah, has dismissed the claims.

National Cathedral Board Chairman

Explaining what transpired in a statement, the GPCC said a meeting was called by the National Executive Council of the Council in 2016 to discuss with Prophet Owusu Bempah about some of the death prophecies he had given involving notable personalities in the country.

At no point in time during the meeting did the Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah seek any prophetic direction from Prophet Owusu Bempah, the statement said.

“The said meeting was at the behest of the National Executive Council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council in 2-16 to discuss with Prophet Owusu Bempah his utterances on some bishops in the media and his prophecies of the deaths of some notable members of the Ghana society.

“The Council wishes to emphasize with confirmation from Rt Rev Dr. Nana Anyanim Buadum that at no point in time during the meeting did the Apostle Prof Opoku Onyina seek any prophetic direction from Prophet Owusu Bempah,” the GCPP statement said.

The Coalition, led by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says there is no need for the compilation of a new register as the current Voters Register is fit for use in the 2020 parliamentary and presidential elections and not obsolete as claimed by the EC.
