According to passengers on board, the bus was heading towards Tamale when the driver lost control upon reaching Yapei, resulting in a crash.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud sound before the accident.

In a separate incident on the same highway, a cargo truck loaded with scrap materials also crashed, leaving the driver in critical condition.

The victims have been rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.
